Yeah shift between 2-3 jerks, it’s been happening since around 100k car has 173k now and transmission has been serviced and still does it, hasn’t got worse nor better… so do what you’d like w that info

I had 2 (2014 & 2017) Fusion's in the Titanium Trim. Those were some of the best cars, and it sucks that Ford stopped production of them for the NA Market. The power, ride comfort, etc. were all good.

oh, yes at least on my car goodyear ls2 tires are great... the newer ls2's with rim protecter.. work great in the dry and wet

183000 on my 2014 fusion se with lux package and 18 inch rims2.0 engine.. the vep Spanish engine..fwd.. drives perfectly... i have lowered it and have adjustable shock on it now.. sway bars from a energy model( bigger ) and poly bushes on it... handles great... every 6000 miles oil change. full syn oil, every 3 oil changes i drop 4 quarts of trans oil out and replace it.. shifts smoothly... every year new plugs... and cabin filter.. and flush brake fluid.. every 2 years.. engine air filter.. every 60000 miles.. water pump . coolant change.. water pumps on these cars are very cheap...but i work as a classic Italian car tech.. and keep my cars in great shape

Honest question. What’s the justification for changing plugs once a year? I haven’t changed the plugs on my escape in 4 years and it’s still good. Just use platinum or iridium and they will last minimum 60k

Every mass produced engine are gonna have some issues, but from what I’ve seen it’s a good reliable engine and cheap to maintain, the v6 isn’t a bad option either. Good choice for college

when test driving one, what do I need to look after other than the CarFax that it was maintained properly not some blonde girl or some guy who had the BMW just to have a BMW and not look after it

Obviously look for oil leaks around valve cover and oil filter housing, make sure everything drives smooth (accelerate hard) and idles properly with a/c on (puts more stress on engine). Try to start it on a cold start and bring a code reader

Nice SE man. I have a 2018 Sport and I love it. Way faster than a fusion needs to be lol. The transmission issue might be remedied by changing your transmission, PTU and rear diff fluids. I had a buddy with a 2016 SE AWD. His would not even shift if he floored it. He changed his fluid and it's been much better ever since.

Okay I researched it, and yeah I don’t have any coolant loss, but mass produced engines like this one (that’s in multiple platforms) usually have a issue that can cause engine failure, most cases you are completely fine but some people get unlucky :)

This car is a great balance of luxury sport with good reliability. The design is timeless. Has technology but not over done because you still have the bmw driving experience especially with the manual one.
