This was a clear and precise explanation that I found most helpful. Thank you!
In my course, I appended the add on code for induced hypothermia to a CABG CPT code and was told it couldn’t be added when it is already part of the surgery code.
My material for the exam says anesthesia start time begins when the Anesthesiologist begins to prep the patient. I didn’t realize that included conversation with patient to get a history, or whatever else.
Just watched and learned a lot about how to conceptualize all this material. I hate to ask, but did you bubble and highlight the entire CPT Manual, and how long did it take you? I want to manage my expectations. Thank you
To code the diagnosis for this case, we need to identify the ICD-10-CM codes for the following components: 1. Nonunion of a fracture. 2. The specific metacarpal bone affected. 3. The original cause of the fracture. ### Steps for coding: 1. **Nonunion of the fracture:** - Nonunion indicates that the fracture has not healed properly over an expected period. 2. **Specific metacarpal bone:** - The second metacarpal bone of the left hand. 3. **Original cause of the fracture:** - Result of a gunshot wound. ### ICD-10-CM Codes: - **M84.322K**: Nonunion of fracture of the left hand. - Here, "M84.322" specifies nonunion of a fracture of the left hand. - The "K" indicates a nonunion. - **S62.302S**: Unspecified fracture of the second metacarpal bone, sequela. - "S62.302" specifies the fracture of the second metacarpal bone. - The "S" at the end indicates that this is a sequela (a condition which is the consequence of a previous disease or injury). - **W34.00XA**: Accidental discharge from other and unspecified firearms, initial encounter. - This code will indicate that the fracture was caused by an accidental gunshot wound. While the initial encounter might not seem relevant, this code is used to specify the cause of the initial injury. ### Final Coding: - **M84.322K**: Nonunion of fracture of the left hand. - **S62.302S**: Unspecified fracture of the second metacarpal bone, sequela. - **W34.00XA**: Accidental discharge from other and unspecified firearms, initial encounter (to indicate the cause of the injury). ### Important Notes: - Always verify with the most current ICD-10-CM codebook or electronic coding tool to ensure accuracy. - Documentation should clearly support all the coded conditions. - Check payer-specific guidelines for any additional requirements.
This video helped so much! I love the notes. I put them in my book, and I followed along with the video. I am starting to understand more.

Surveillance colonoscopy, personal hx of polyps, patient scheduled for a colonoscopy. Doctor removes polyp with snare due to finding of polyp during colonoscopy. Would this be considered as 45385-33, with ICD 10 Z09, Z86.010. Or do we not add the 33 modifier and just bill as a regular colonoscopy?? The surveillance with the diagnostic is really confusing.
Without snswer it is waste.
Thank you!
Thanks from India ❤
this is really an amazing idea thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this video! Its been a saviour for me as i need to submit CEUs in this month and i was short of CEUS... I just cant express my gratitude in words🙏
Are you available for business chat regarding your Udemy course promotion?
AWV is an insult to seniors. Our government should be ashamef.
Are classes available to study at-home. I aced medical terminology at Century College years ago. I was an ob-gyn clinic manager after having been a medical secretsry. Can I study at home?
please don't waste you time watching this crap. it has nothing to do with the coding, Title is very misleading . Even the content on RA is not accurate . If you want to know more about RA , you would be better of reading and watching videos by medial doctor / rheumatologist rather then watching this from a coder who tries to explain all about RA rather then talking about the coding and billing .
Why aren't the coding books automatically made this way? It makes so much sense
You are an amazing teacher! Thank you so much for this!
You never show the book!
Only 19 an hour starting with a fresh CPC or CRC? That's right around a starting medical biller! Unacceptable. It should be around 22 23 an hour, which is what Optum pays for CPC-As (A's!) in their remote HCC jobs
NOTE: The 2nd case has a wrong ICD-10-CM code. The correct code should be... O60.14X0 - Preterm labor third trimester with preterm delivery third trimester, not applicable or unspecified Fetus types are broken down into: single babies (classified as "not applicable" with 7th character "0") multiple babies (classified in based off birth order, with 7th characters "1, 2, 3, 4, or 5". Anything number of babies greater than that is classified as "9" for "other".)
