Hi sis, hope you’re well. Are there specific products you would recommend for the moisturising and sealing? My hair breakage is A LOT, even when undoing “protective styles”🌻

what does stretching entail exactly?? Like what do you do with your hair for 10-12 weeks?
@samkelisiwexaba5551Ай бұрын
Relaxer stretching entails leaving sometime before your next relaxer. Like for example if I relaxed my hair in the beginning of January, I will relax it again at the end of April or 1st week of May. This way I relax my hair every 4 months, which means in a year I only relax my hair three times. The four months is the amount of time I give my hair to grow,by then I usually have enough new growth/new hair to relax. While waiting in the 4 months, I usually do protective styles. So you can do things like cornrows, maybe braids etc.

Hi Vicky. Thanks for the video. I agree for sure that moisturize and seal helps to stop the breakage. I also agree about the salon. Unfortunately, not every single stylist will take good care of your hair. I've had young ladies that would just yank the comb through tangles while styling and blow drying, brushing my hair rough and I could hear my hairs snapping and breaking while they were doing it, and I would get so upset, thinking "If I was doing my own hair at home, I'd never be this rough with it", which is why I did actually start doing my own hair. Saved me a lot of money too, from all those salon trips. I don't think there's anything wrong with going to the salon, of course, but also, people who don't treat our hair the way we want it treated don't deserve our money.

This came just when I had also decided to go on my hair journey. I agree with a lot of what you said especially the salon theory. I hope that in the midst of my final MSc year while working, I'll be able to stick to my original routine. 🙈 My goal is armpit length.
@kayseeiso37502 ай бұрын
Tysm for this, I want to grow my hair to armpit length this year! Just a quick question: what do you mean by moisturize and seal? What does the sealing look like
@nyamoonshadow32592 ай бұрын
I've seen and heard different explanations for "moisturize and seal", but this is how I understand it and what I do: Find a place in your routine where you apply some water-based leave-in conditioner (that's "moisturize") and follow that with a little hair oil (that's "seal"). For example, I personally have relaxed hair, and wash once per week. On wash day, of course, I blow dry and flat iron. But, I find that about 3 days later, my ends are starting to feel really dry. So I just put some lightweight, watery leave-in conditioner on the very ends and also follow with a lightweight oil like the Olaplex oil or something else that is not heavy and sticky. I usually do that in the evening and by the time I wake up the next morning, the ends are no longer damp and are super soft and supple. I might have to retouch the curls if I wanted them curled with the iron, but it is so much better than going the whole week without doing that process. I don't think just oiling the hair does enough, because you need a little water (or aloe, or glycerin, or humectant of some sort) to actually put the moisture back in your hair. So personally, I moisturize and seal the ends every 3 days or so, and I don't get split ends and breakage like I would before I started doing this. Hope this helps!

How to air dry your hair without it feeling dry and puffy?
@VickyMak13 ай бұрын
This was tricky for me as well. I’ll make a detailed video however the trick is to use a leave in conditioner, moisturised and seal before the hair is completely dry and to brush your hair during the drying process. This makes the hair dry as straight as possible.
