    Don't you wish it only took 30 seconds in real life to do a big ( and hard ) job like that . ❤😊 We have been working on cutting and burning Brambles for 2 weeks, its strenuous work( we're in our 60's). Y'all do a Great Thing for those animals, and I Thank You. ❤

    27 years of clearing and upkeep, getting easier as we plan everything carefully for sustainability in the future.We learned to let the animals work with me, makes a big difference.

    We are trying a variety of things, but when dealing with ones that were not supposed to make it they tend to go up and down. Like sheldon, Lenora and Lucy in the past you do the best you can by them.

    ahhaahah cute Actually, I'm mesmerized by this process. I started searching about the Industrial Revolution and it's inventions, searched for the "Spinning Jenny", and I realized that I knew NOTHING of the historiry of Weaving. I got so, so, so confused with the machinery, the wool, the threads - that I decided to simply search for everything step by step I'm in awe. So beautiful, so peaceful, so loving, so wonderful. ... not only the process itself, but also, to be able to see, and imagine the past of human history, and what we had to handle to develop into this highly technological society we are today. I'm speechless. Srly.

  • @The10AcreWoods

    It's a good idea to separate them before they reach the age of 4 months as they can start to breed as young as 5 months old.

    How do you skim the lanolin off the top of the water after scouring the wool. I just inherited 15 fleeces which are loaded with lanolin. I try to practice zero waste and would like to salvage as much as possible. If you have time, I would appreciate you thoughts🌝 Thanks in advance . Abby

  • @The10AcreWoods
    @The10AcreWoods9 күн бұрын

    Hi Abby, when you wash your wool with hot water, let the water cool the lanolin sits on top of the water like fat when cooking, then skim off. can purify it by add ing water and boiling then cooling dirt sinks lanolin floats to top.

    Thank You for this video, I've never seen wool cleaned and processed. Each step along the way there's quite a bit to it I knew that there would be but I wasn't sure how involved it would be. Do you do this as a family business ? or mostly your own personal use? I sure can appreciate the cost of yarn now more that I've seen the process on how it's made. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos if you have them?
