This would not be the job for me. I can barely get the nerve to get up high enough on the ladder to clean the gutters, let alone getting to the top and walking the roof. Mad props to you for doing this stuff. So glad my vent is close to the ground!

I think it should be a law to have vents cleaned out at least every few years for insurance renewals and landlords to protect renters. Such a fire hazard. That height would be a no go for me. Thank you for all the details.

Do you ever check the lint screen on the dryer before you work on the vent? Just to see if the owner is cleaning the screen regularly?

MAN!!!! I just started this channel in December of last year and I've been WAITING for that question! I do sometimes get tired of it however, if I used to be a project manager for a really big aftermarket crash parts company... Conference call after conference call.... And nobody thinking 2-3 "plans" ahead and BOOOOOM! Straight chaos! Now, I'm in control so if it means getting a little lint on me, I'm ok........ Thanks for your question!!!

You can be sure with this telescope type of set up, and the method used in this video, the exhaust will not flow freely as it should. This will cause a bad exhuast leak that in due time will result in a moisture soaked lint mess all over the back of the dryer and the walls of the laundry area. This guy will be making severe changes to this set up. Bank on it.

Well Tim… Funny enough, I’ve been installing these for over 20 years in the Charlotte, NC area as well as shipped them all over the country and NEVER had a customer call back with ANY issues regarding my Quick Connect Periscope! Therefore, you’re incorrect! However, please keep watching and you’ll learn something! It’s good for the soul!

My last condo never in 15 years mentioned or required the dryer vents be cleaned. New condo requires dryer vents be cleaned every other year. Crazy that I had never been told to clean my dryer vents. Parents, ex-husband, no one ever discussed it. Shocked I didn’t have issues. Spread the word, clean your dryer vents!

I bought my house 11 years ago. For 2 years, none of my clothes would dry on the first or 2nd cycle. I had steam all throughout my house when i put my dryer on. I would vacuum the house and it would be ok for 1 or 2 times. Then i had to have my deck replaced. When they demolished it, the ENTIRE side of my house was covered in DRYWALL, The drywall covered the vent. So all across the wall there was about 4 inches of dryer fluff!!! The guy said " how the hell your house didnt burn down i will never know!

Nice job. Next call they'll need to make is having their AC condenser cleaned. Why isn't my house cooling? I'll never understand why dryer vents are so close to AC condensers.

Never pull a cord out by holding the wire. Electrician Dad told us that. Aussies use outdoor clothesline in the sun. Our dryers have filters to clean after each use. The amount of this fluff looks like a fire hazard.
