From memory as I’m away at the moment but the lower point attaches to the back of the passenger foot pegs. And the upper points (x2 per side ) attaches to the rear sub frame When I get back to South Africa I’ll do a short video on that and the home made canvas bags I use for the side carriers

@@ashleyjosephus3898 depends how often you swing a spanner. It’s pretty straightforward most difficult part is making up the blank off plate and getting the internals of the CAT out. I would suggest and exhaust/muffler shop to remove the internals of the CAT for you it’s just easier than lying under the car and doing it. That took me quite some time with lots of muttering.

That's an ST Strada. 18" front wheel as opposed to 19" on Funduro. Several other parts differ too.

I had to double check the specs and you are correct having the 18 inch front wheel it would be the strada. Yet here in South Africa they were always marketed as the Funduro. I never knew about the Strada until getting onto the 650 forums 👍

Beautiful. I also have the same BMW FS650 Funduro 1998 in my garage that I have not started since 2015 🙃 Brilliant motors, I believe it is a Rotax that was used in microlights back in the day. Bullet proof. Mine has 150 000km on the clock. The last time I rode it was back from Grahamstown to Somerset West overnight for 12 hours, felt like I was sitting in my lounge seat, very comfortable seat

Hi there Jex. It doesn’t really change the sound much. You might hear the turbo a little more. But the main muffler is huge. That’s were most the sound is muffled. If you wanting more sound have the main muffler cut out and install a smaller free flow muffler.

No not at all. In theory if you are blocking the hot gas being recirculated then it should in theory run cooler

@@Seegsoutdoor in theory it would indeed run hotter, because there will be more oxygen and compressing the oxygen will generate a lot of heat. But it should still be fine, since as you said EGR is because of emissions regulations and not actually to protect the engine from overheating.

On the opposite bank of the Orange river is River Destiny Lodge. We've always stopped there on our way up or down. Very affordable with self catering cabins and a campsite. Getting there would always take us over the Gariep Dam (Hendrik Verwoerd Dam)

I've got a 2012 R51 Pathdinder 140kw 2.5 YD25 Manual 6 speed. 40mm lift, Bullbar, winch, rock sliders, 265/70/17 tyres etc etc I have installed a Mann Provent catch can/oil separator and EGR blank. Has snorkel with KN filter and Pre filter fitted I Run Water Wetter in the radiator and 5W-40 oil with a splash of Lucas Stabilizer. Just did 20,000km around outback Australia towing a 2 Tonne Caravan. Diesel consumption average 14.9 litres/100km No CELs. No nailing on start up. No black smoke. No engine issues at all. I'll be doing this on any future YD 2.5s I own

Nissan engineers didn’t make this because they clever. They made it to adhere to emission regulations forced on by government. You have no idea what you are speaking about. We have been doing this to our vehicles for years without blowing up engines. In fact more chance of long term damage with an egr than without

On the EGR blank I would advice you to get a stainless steel plate I used the same material plate that you have used and it got chowed away and eventually I went for stainless steel and It was sorted

If it had a sensor behind the cat the computer is picking up an issue and putting the vehicle into limp mode. I’m not sure your side but here by us there are guys that can program the computer to overlook that sensor that should solve the issue

I have a scan tool and it is showing a R2002 code over accumulation in the dpf but that was already there before I cleaned out the cat converter, I was getting about 4500rpm before I cleaned out the cat converter but now it’s gone down to 2000rpm. The sensors are just before and after the dpf. There is hardly any pressure coming out of the tail pipe so maybe the problem is the dpf. Do they override the sensors with a scan tool or something else. What do you think.

Hi guys. I'm a born and bred capetonian having spent many days and nights at Macassar. I'm now living in East London so have not fished Macs for 6 years. I'm coming down to cape town for 3 weeks and would like to go fish Macs a few times. Could anyone please tell me of it is accessible by car these days and if so which end is best access. Ledges side or from far side. Tx a mil

Macs is definitely accessible by car. From both sides. As long as you stay on the hard stuff just above the high water mark you good 👍. I’m heading up towards your neck of the woods for December. Hoping to get some good fish in the estuaries. Will be posting more content on that as we go.
