I despise engage because of the story and character dialog and the over avatar worship the game might of good gameplay but I will not play it, I do not want to hear the voices of the characters it was like this story and characters where written by children
Bloke would be absolutely hatin right now…game literally just got a new visual update and it looks heaps better, although still needs some improvements they are improving the game! 🤙🏼💯
Ill stick to my ps5 version that was actually good on release
That’s one collectors edition I did not hesitate to buy right away. I’m so happy I did.
Its amazing right!
Tbh I tend to buy remasters on pc not on console mainly for the fact they go cheap really quick.
Definitely a good plan
I played engage for a while and notice this something changed. in 3H any weapon equip you will see it in both on field and combat. In Engage, regardless of what weapon u equip, on the field it will always look scrap metal weapon. this is the only issues I don't feel comfortable. otherwise, engage I like it when weapons don't break. don't have to waste gold for new weapon after 20 times used. also, when entering battle, unlike 3H, in Engage, it took 0.5 second for character to show up. it's like GPU is not powerful enough to keep up with the demand despite Switch is the only platform. there are nothing to upgrade switch either. oled switch is the same as the original switch.
This game is so good!! And I'm not even huge into tactics games with a lot of "builds" mechanics. But this one is so accessible you dont have to be to still enjoy it.
It is really accessible but if you want a bigger challenge with more in depth builds you can also do that! Its really for everyone!
Greay vid! I've been hesitating getting Engage despite loving Three Houses so much. This was helpful in validating my gut was right. Thanks! I'll just replay TH instead 😅...and maybe give Three Hopes another go (but I'm really not a fan of the Warriors style combat)
Thankyou! Just get the TH dlc, i think its better
Hey :) I'm also a big fan of Team Asano and it's funny because I played all the Bravely Default games (such good games, it's the legacy of the old FF, but brought up to date with modern gameplay), I played Triangle Strategy and Live A Live and I discovered Team Asano's work with the Nintendo DS adaptations of FF III and IV long time ago, but I haven't played any Octopath games...I know... but lack of time. Bravely Default I and II (not the one between those) are still on my best JRPJ ever, especially the first one who twist your brain his cliffhanger. There is a live concert of Revo from Bravely Default I on KZread, it's maybe the most epic themes I've ever heard in my life in videogames. If you want to listen just one, check "Serpent eating the horizon" Bravely Default Live and imagine this music coming out from your 3DS during the fight of hundred hours of epic adventure !
The Bravely Default series is actually the one im least familiar with. Do you have to play them in order?
No there is no link between the I and II. It's like Final Fantasy, the characters are the heroes of the light and each stories take place on a differents worlds 😊 You can do the II on Nintendo Switch and the I on 3DS after. Just there is "Bravely Second" on 3DS who is the continuation of the first with 2 heroes from the first one, but don't play that one. Forget it, Team Asano don't assume it, that's why there is the real II on Nintendo Switch 😂
@@laurentlenoir9406 Bravely Second is probably the most underrated 3DS game ever... it's a shame it wasn't received that well...
With remasters: I think it depends on the game and what system it was originally on. How easily can i access the game now? If it's more expensive to buy that old system and the old game in order to access it and it's a decent game, then it could be worth it. But generally, for a remaster, it should not be the price of a new game. If it is a remake, then it could be worth it depending on the quality of the original game and what the remake offers. I preordered Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D remake because I love that style of graphics, I'm trying to finish all of the DQ games and playing the Erdrick trilogy in the original form is not appealing to me. I'm hoping they added quality of life improvements to make it a little easier to figure out where to go. I heard that the added a feature that allows you to remember what NPCs say in game. I prefer that over writing it down in a notebook or cell phone. I'm a dragon quest fan, though... but yeah I also want to support turn based RPGs like that being made.
I am sooo excited for those remakes! HD-2D is like my favourite artstyle ever! And team Asano always crush it!
I have both versions and have completed the game twice - first on the PS5 and then on the Switch after a while. It looks good and polished on the PS5, but the portable format suits me better. My first walkthrough was more like a story rush on the PS5, and the second was all about exploration on the Switch. I have played the Switch version on a big screen from time to time - it is fine. But it is much better on the smaller OLED screen.

You know i will! 😁😁😁 thankyou!
Not for remastered games since they’re on a different story here since that only relies on contacting the original creators to assist on their project for approval. Remakes on the other hand is an entirely different story to make out. Like for instance, Crash Bandicoot for PS4 got freshly retooled from the ground up using realistic next-gen techniques that are never seen before. The value for that game is rightfully justified to cost $79.
And its 3 games! I wouldve payed more for that tbh
No
They're barely worth 40$... but thanks for making it easier on my conscience to just sail the 7 digital seas.
what the heck? 80 dollars per game sounds like way too much just for a single games and the ps5 games in the US are pushing it with the damn 70 dollars.
The Australian dollar is weaker than the USD. For a Ps5 game its like $110 Australian!
Hell no, Nintendo are greedy af. Remasters should be half tops. Most of them are basic as with maybe a resolution upgrade and added widescreen, remakes on the other hand if they are done right can be worth more ex. Resident Evil 2, 4 etc
The RE remakes are great examples of it done right!
Nope never bought any Remakes
I mean I think a collection of games like say zedla mm, oot, and windwaker or something is fine to charge 80 for but a single game for 80 no a double pack maybe if it's decently long games like 30 hours each
I think the double pack remaster is the way to go
A remaster is not even worth 60 dollar, unless you did not play original one.
Exactly
You can't deny that a new game takes more effort and costs more to develop. Remakes I believe should be maybe $10 less, remasters $20 less. I don't care if I've ever played it, if it's a game from the past touched up, rebuilt to look/play better, it still came from the past with work done on it and should be priced accordingly. Nintendo keeps their games full priced cause they can and people buy it. They aren't cutting prices because they are a business and the players don't come first, the money does (which I understand). I do however hate half-assed remasters like Twilight Princess HD that was full priced. Nintendo was scummy for that one.
ok, watched till 4 minute mark. Nobody says they should do it for free, but def it does not cost them as much as a totally new game!! Like what costed more, Mario wonder or Mario ttyd remake? Wonder ofc even without checking it up!!! New ideas, new stages, new voices and so one. Also it is not %100 guaranteed that people will like it. On the other hand, TTYD has nothing of the above!!, some decisions to b taken for sure but the game already asked for, people already like it and you gotta just...Renew it!! That's it. So Price point for remakes shall be $30 - $50 tops. Crash Trilogy they remade 3 FULL GAMES for the price of one!!!!! Nintendo price point for super Mario RPG alone is $60! Crazy
Yeah it’s pretty expensive here in Canada as well I think it’s worth it if you haven’t played the games. I grew up just after the GameCube so I never got to play paper Mario
For sure! If you havent played it then its a brand new experience for you
No. Next question
No. No game is worth $80, however old and retro or new and fancy.
So you stop playing AAA titles now? Tbf there are more than enough indies to keep you occupied
In America the highest price for a average game I seen is $70 but the only higher then that are literally a few exceptions like how expensive fallout 76 was when it first released I think around 100 and the Nintendo switch cart game that has a RC Mario cart for a huge amount of money and if you want to play with another person in your home you're going to have to buy the game again it I was was $149.96 per one and had one vehicle
@@SumKindofGaming I've never bought a AAA game outside of a Goodwill or flea market. Anyone who buys any AAA game at launch should get their spending monitored, imo. There's almost always a sale right around the corner. It's borderline fiscal irresponsibillity to pay $60-80 and full price for a video game.
Not with Nintendo my guy. Maybe 10 bucks here or there but incredibly rarely. Physicals this is btw
80 dollars? How is Australia so friggin expensive?
Tell me about it! Tbf though 80 aud = 53 usd
@@SumKindofGaming New question: 53 usd? How is Australia so cheap?))))))
It's about the same in Canada as well
brand new AAA games can be had for 59AUD if you pre order.
@@SumKindofGaming bro yall make like $22 usd an hour over there
Nintendo is definitely taking advantage of the larger install base of the Switch compared to their other consoles and the fact that most people haven't played these older games. To them, these are new games and would pay full price to play them, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best example of this. It's the bestselling Switch game while being a Wii U port charged for $60, so that likely convinced Nintendo to keep doing this. Whether a remake or remaster is worth full price or not is up to the consumer of course, and in my opinion, it really depends on how much has actually been redone in the game. Obviously, it's fine for remakes to charge more than remasters since those are built from the ground up. A full-on reimagining that feels like a new game like the FFVII R trilogy could be worth full price, while a faithful remake could be $40-$50. A remaster that remakes the environments or pretty much anything except the code could be $40 like Metroid Prime Remastered, while one that's just a simple remaster could be $20-30. That's just my opinion on the prices
I agree with pretty much everything you said. For a lot of people these are 'new' games so they're willing to pay new game prices. Which is honestly a testament to how well Nintendos titles have aged
I am also going to throw out a mildly hot take, but I rather pay sixty bucks for a game upfront and know it is preventing the need to go to shady practices like over use of micro transactions and season passes. I will also be the one to bring this up Nintendo doesn't lay developers off like sony or Microsoft so I have more of a assurance that my money is going to paying the actual employees and funding future products than the guy at the tops pocket book. And video games have been sixty bucks for ages. Now that doesn't diminish the struggle for people to earn money, but it is more of the fact games have been one of the most inflation resistant products on the market. But I can agree depending on how much effort was put into it the price should adjust. For me the ttyd remake was well worth the sixty bucks because I had no means to really play it again until now and the new look and qi stuff is top notch.
Dam i wish id thought of this point and put it in the video!
@@danielstallings1593 yeah ironically enough, these older games being charged at full prices and Nintendo rarely discounting their games have likely helped keep their developers well paid and still part of the company. A lot of the other companies that discount games like a month after release or have them in a subscription service like Microsoft with Game Pass end up laying off many of their devs because "it didn't make as much money as we it needed" especially with how expensive game development has become now. I don't think Tango would've shut down if the game had 3 million players but with them buying the game instead of playing it through Game Pass
@@SumKindofGaming not going to lie I thought I was going to get flamed for this.
Hey man! interesting topic to talk about. Personally I don't feel remasters are worth that price all the time, But it depends on the work i guess that goes into them, give me a remaster with new modes/quests/characters/better general housekeeping and maybe then the price is justified. I also think a games price is often outed by the length of the game, for example i refuse to pay £50 for games like kirby forgotten land or Princess peach showtime when I know those games are only roughly 8-10 hours long. Also Metroid Prime remastered which is a triumphant remaster and one of the best of all time was only £35 here in the UK. Thats a massive price cut from what nintendo could have sold the game for. The Thousand Year Door is different as that game is basically a full remake, new graphics, new gameplay, new content, i think it deserve the price tag, not to mention practically a new game for most people. Its a weird one but i think nintendo remasters and new games in general can be justified as long as the contents of the game lives up to that price tag.
Depends on what they did to the game. Migration to a new system with new graphics? Sure. A re-release with minimal updates? No.
yeah most remakes are not worth full price in my opinion, theres work put into it sure but not as much then of course some remakes like mafia definitive edition that are basically completely new games I think are worth full price
Sweet i can say my piece now haha and my opinion is that remakes and remasters should be priced by the amount of work and content. If its just a recreation with nothing new then i believe at least 10-15 should get cut off because i know it takes work to remake a game from the ground up. But they also get to skip stuff like storyboards, concept art, and world building stages. But if they add a lot of new content to go with it then i really dont mind much. Like i said, depend on the amount of work put into it.
It all depends doesnt it! 🤣 but i agree with this!
Comments turned off in your latest video. If it was a mistake. Hoping this reaches you haha
Yo thanks man! That was definitely a mistake!
There is no chance Xenoblade X gets a Switch port at this point. Rebuilding all that online infrastructure for a console in the final year of its life would be utterly insane
The new BethesDOOM could be a great match, if Bethesda actually pays everyone who works on it this time, and doesn't weasel out of it by telling said workers that their work is "rejected" before using that work anyway.
Great comparison video. I pretty much agree with everything you said. While I prefer the gameplay in Engage, I found the overall experience in Three Houses better. I got really invested into Three Houses lore, setting, story, characters, the social sim aspects that help build your relationships, etc.
It better be! Because E3 robbed us of directs for the past 2 years, this had better be worth it!
F-Zero GX, Starfox Assault, Eternal Darkness, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. All would be great contenders for a Metroid Prime style remaster that verges on a remake.
Mario galaxy 2 would be awesome!
A Definitive Edition of Xenoblade X is my most wanted game period, but I personally hope it's a Switch 2 title at this point so that the game can truly shine.
Yeh i think thats the best way at this point
If I had to guess what Nintendo would do for a totally “original” (rather than just ports and remakes and multi-plats) for this holiday, it would be a Splatoon spinoff. Splatoon is a super popular IP in Japan, and I don’t foresee them dropping a mainline entry in nearly ANY of their core franchises at the end of the lifecycle. (Especially since nearly every franchise has already had at least 1 entry on the Switch anyway, and most of their core ones have had a few spinoffs too.)
I would love to see a Splatoon spinoff!
Chrono Trigger Remake
Yes!
Is there like some kind of mandate that you guys MUST always compare Metroid’s sales to Zelda’s? Why don’t we compare Zelda’s to Pokémon’s, you know, Zelda doesn’t even come CLOSE to naming Pokémon money, but nobody mentions that…
I think it's probably due to the fact that both series began during the same year in 1986, and of course, we all know how both of these two series have developed over the years. Still, I agree with you that always hearing people compare Zelda and Metroid in terms of sales does neither of them justice.
@@jesusvillicana6276 no and Nintendo has pushed Zelda despite its weak sales for YEARS while Metroid was shunned for its weak sales. Why don’t we feel the need to compare Zelda to Mario? Zelda don’t make Mario money….and prior to BOTW, it hovered in the 3 million range every release. BOTW sales were boosted by its release with the Switch. Zelda isn’t this almighty success people claim it is, it’s definitely no Mario, no Pokemon, no Sonic in terms of sales. Not even close.
@Somefn90sguy it is true they were still both released during the same year to critical acclaim. Also, both series are held to enormous standards, which Pokémon and even Mario are not held to the same level as both of them. Nevertheless, they're both great series, and I hope everyone enjoys them for what they are regardless of the comparisons, which, let's be honest, they won't stop anytime soon, lol.
I jusylt want titanfall 2 on switch 2 And my dream would be xbox continue to fail and they need to put MCC on switch 2
Lost me with the Kid Icarus: Uprising controls slander.
F Zero GX remaster....... Metroid prime 4 can only hope 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Twilight princess definitely but a ocarina of time remake ne great but most likely save it for switch successor ♥️
I need a Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced collection
I just hope they put the pushmo games on the switch sometime soon.
Not the game I thought it would be, based on the title.
You thought itd be cuter? More sparkles?
Probably a good call that it's gonna be all remakes and remasters.
