    We stopped installing/recommending Allisport rads/intercoolers more than a year ago after multiple weld failures and leaking issues.

    We bought doors from SP, all steel galvanized, and we had many issues with shipping, finish and fit. Besides they send us both right hand side when we ordered a pair and they refused to accept blame!!!! Your project is coming so great.

    How have you done the seal around the doors? I did a series 3 door conversion and cant get the doors to shut properly with the seal

    I've only used sectons so far. And have discussed in the video how to set the stikers up before adding the door seals. But I'll go into it in more detail when I get the door tops on.

    i made similar dashboard with aluminium sheet, it was in 3 pieces bolted together, the top piece, middle piece (which had all gauges, switches, meters and so on, and the bottom piece which holds the bottom part and the universal AC evaporators. it was nice.

    I love the part where you saying cutting it was hard work and then show B roll which at a glance looks like you cut it off in about 1 second

    I know. I thought that afterwards but seeing it drop off was more interesting than struggling to cut it. But trust me, it took a while!

    Changed mine for a Delphi one, as was getting limp mode on and off, new sensor was fine until I floored it and on hills goes in to limp mode everytime. The sensor was not cheap £60 so surprised its causing an issue.

    Not all Series 3 had antiburst latches, only the very last year or so of production. Series 3 doors would also work just fine for this purpose. The only difference is the door stay design, which is totally different between S2 and S3. Too bad you can't find 109 seat back bars in the UK. Here in Kenya 109 station wagons are still pretty common and a second hand set is not difficult to source.

    Already looking great with those doors, theoretically those cut down strikers could become their own product as they just need to be milled down. Could be done in big batches.

    They use the traditional stiker for the anti burst latches, but I've really struggled to get these to work well on past conversions. This method seems much easier and more funtional. But I will need to add a locking system in the future.

    Surely when you have the ECU remapped you can disable the butterfly ? It would save having to damage the throttle body. I'm about to do this mod.......So sick of EGR faults coming up on my D3 and my wifes Pajero and the life of my engines being shortened just to appease the environment police.

    Hi Ive just got a Mantic strong arm from you for the rear door on my defender 90 unfortunately ive got some problems the bolts on the top hinge of the door have what look like collars which have been welded on the inside so the door plate will not sit flat and i did not want to drill bigger holes in it. also i have no handles inside so no strong points to fix to, do you have any suggestions Regards Kevin

  • @LRLiveUK
    @LRLiveUK8 күн бұрын

    Hi Kevin, you can space the plate out from rivnut mount out to match the collars with washers. You might need some longer hinge bolts. You don't need special mounts for the roof plate. Just position it centrally and drill into the roof support edge. This is where the handles are mounted anyway.

    I'm not sure that legally you can use those seats as I'm sure it says somewhere in the MOT handbook about if a certain standard is met at time of manufacture you have to maintain that standard, like not fitting seat belts because the seat your putting in is from an earlier model, maybe someone knows more.

    Maybe you could include more support for the seats in a single loop type roll over protection and include the top mount for the seat belt. Might be a bit spendy though😄

    TBH, that seat back would last about 5 minutes as it is. A brace is a must have, but, by the time you fiddle around with a brace, you would be better fitting proper defender seats.
