We stopped installing/recommending Allisport rads/intercoolers more than a year ago after multiple weld failures and leaking issues.
We bought doors from SP, all steel galvanized, and we had many issues with shipping, finish and fit. Besides they send us both right hand side when we ordered a pair and they refused to accept blame!!!! Your project is coming so great.
Well you're welcome to order from us in the future and we'll do our best to look after you.
How have you done the seal around the doors? I did a series 3 door conversion and cant get the doors to shut properly with the seal
I've only used sectons so far. And have discussed in the video how to set the stikers up before adding the door seals. But I'll go into it in more detail when I get the door tops on.
i made similar dashboard with aluminium sheet, it was in 3 pieces bolted together, the top piece, middle piece (which had all gauges, switches, meters and so on, and the bottom piece which holds the bottom part and the universal AC evaporators. it was nice.
I love the part where you saying cutting it was hard work and then show B roll which at a glance looks like you cut it off in about 1 second
I know. I thought that afterwards but seeing it drop off was more interesting than struggling to cut it. But trust me, it took a while!
Changed mine for a Delphi one, as was getting limp mode on and off, new sensor was fine until I floored it and on hills goes in to limp mode everytime. The sensor was not cheap £60 so surprised its causing an issue.
I'm not sure if the brand we offer but it is OE and not Delphi.
Not all Series 3 had antiburst latches, only the very last year or so of production. Series 3 doors would also work just fine for this purpose. The only difference is the door stay design, which is totally different between S2 and S3. Too bad you can't find 109 seat back bars in the UK. Here in Kenya 109 station wagons are still pretty common and a second hand set is not difficult to source.
Yes this is the one I’ve been waiting for. Look great and cost effective compared to buying mega expensive original defender doors.
Hi, do you do the capping for the 2nd row doors? Cheers Mike
Absolutely. I'm just fitting them now for the next episode.
Do you sell them on your website? Cheers Mike
Already looking great with those doors, theoretically those cut down strikers could become their own product as they just need to be milled down. Could be done in big batches.
SP 4x4 on eBay do a conversion kit and looks like they have purpose made striker.
They use the traditional stiker for the anti burst latches, but I've really struggled to get these to work well on past conversions. This method seems much easier and more funtional. But I will need to add a locking system in the future.
What is the spring with the nylon head called? Must be able to get a replacement.
Bonnet mounted spare wheel to catch the window
38 bhp by changing air box ? Aye right 😂 😂
The extended magnet is the best tool ever. 😁Cheers from Suffolk!
Nice real world repair.thanks Frazer
Any time!
wouldn't it be better to first spray the exterior before mounting hinges on them? Looked like exposed metal but could be wrong
I've etch primed these and painted the mounting face already. So should be fine.
so sad the 4.4 has nothing to its name😥
Do these fit the 2024 defender 130? Specifically the second row windows. Thank you!
I'm afraid not. They don't do them for Defender yet.
Just read your message again. 2024 Defender. They might. Maybe check their own website.
I'm surprised you're not using anti-theft bolts? Don't thieves unbolt the door hinges.
Nah, not for these doors!
Surely when you have the ECU remapped you can disable the butterfly ? It would save having to damage the throttle body. I'm about to do this mod.......So sick of EGR faults coming up on my D3 and my wifes Pajero and the life of my engines being shortened just to appease the environment police.
Loving the window tilted down.
Great video lots of neat ideas what I want is the series 2 bonnet and set back grill on my defender 90!!
Been able to fold the windscreen is pretty cool
Yes yes yes!!! Have a wing panel to replace. Definitely will be referring to this. 👍🏾
Sweet
Screen down looks amazing, very 😎 and definitely an option you should keep if possible 👍🏻
I had an old Jeep CJ7 and always folded the windscreen down in the summer. Not only did it look super cool, it was a blast to drive. Hurts like hell though when you take a bug to the face going 60 mph 😂
So you're just reengineering the seatback bars from a 109 station wagon? Wouldn't it be easier to just find the originals?
Yep that's the plan. I'm pretty sure they're obsolete but worth a look
1986 with glass fuses I would say n/a diesel. :)
Close - Turbo Diesel
Hi Ive just got a Mantic strong arm from you for the rear door on my defender 90 unfortunately ive got some problems the bolts on the top hinge of the door have what look like collars which have been welded on the inside so the door plate will not sit flat and i did not want to drill bigger holes in it. also i have no handles inside so no strong points to fix to, do you have any suggestions Regards Kevin
Hi Kevin, you can space the plate out from rivnut mount out to match the collars with washers. You might need some longer hinge bolts. You don't need special mounts for the roof plate. Just position it centrally and drill into the roof support edge. This is where the handles are mounted anyway.
@@LRLiveUK Thank you for coming back to yes that all makes sense ill give that a go thanks again kevin
Did the Sealey sprayer clean up ok when using the 2K paint/Raptor? Good to use on repeat jobs?
Yes, I thoroughly cleaned it with thinners and it's good to go.
what is the diameter? 3 inch?
What wheels are those and what offset, would be great to have a vid about wheel choices and what will fit on older Defender hubs.
Hi, these are the wolf style wheels with Mantec 30mm wheel spacers
I'm not sure that legally you can use those seats as I'm sure it says somewhere in the MOT handbook about if a certain standard is met at time of manufacture you have to maintain that standard, like not fitting seat belts because the seat your putting in is from an earlier model, maybe someone knows more.
Could I call about the VAT Free purchased through the HM VAT Free program for US Service members? Lots I want but have to go through third party vendors.
Maybe you could include more support for the seats in a single loop type roll over protection and include the top mount for the seat belt. Might be a bit spendy though😄
I fitted the mud risers and leather seats from an RX8, very pleased with them. I bought export trim seats originally but they were just too small and I wasn’t overly impressed with them.
I used to have a stage one v8 csw which had the bar behind the seats
I'll have to try and find some pictures
TBH, that seat back would last about 5 minutes as it is. A brace is a must have, but, by the time you fiddle around with a brace, you would be better fitting proper defender seats.
"Full Metal Bracket", the unsuccessful sequel to a good movie.
Jeez, that removal is brutality! Better, but more work, is to remove the dash top, which is a hassle but worth it. You can get it all out without destroying anything.
Still dont understand why they dont produce a decent car, well put together, not leaking, not rusting like a bucket. Takes no more effort.
Why cant seats be reupholstered? New seats are never really necessary unless another design is required.
I will have a Series Landy which will have a canvas top. Retirement present to myself. 😊
It’s a shame that this link doesn’t seem to work? I’ve watched the previous ones and enjoyed them 😢
Nice work
No need for the swearing. Keep it clean
I know. I've cleaned up my act since then!
Coming along really well and on the real DIY side. I once painted a 90 using aerosol cans, gloss white, cannot remember how much I used but the result was really good. looking forward to see this finished.
Great video - inspired to give this a go! Which rust converter did you use on the seat box covers by the way?
Good video great job thanks Danny
