  Hi McNeil, I am doing this now (in 2024), and it appears the whole process has changed. Everything is done through an online portal, and when I go to do the "individual application" it says --> "To complete this application, you must have a sponsoring dealership" - BUT I am not planning to work at a dealership, I am planning to open my own dealership (as a sole propreiotor), the application will not get me past the stage where it asks for "Sponsoring Dealership".... I am so confused, it seems as though the Individual Application is only for those trying to become salespersons.... Can anyone shed light on this.. Thank you so much!

  Ucda program has some restrictions new wholesale dealers need to be in business for at least a year or working in the industry for 2 years. 1st year in business facility will insure new dealers but will be expensive till mainstream companies will insure you

At the end of the day, there's few factors on fairness of service 1. Mood of mechanic 2. How busy the service department is 3. Financial situation of the service department 4. Status of stock 5.   When I started selling cars and my managers kept telling me that if there's no deposit, there's no commitment, there's no deal. When people said "I'll think about, I'll be back in an hour or next day" or whatever, I always told people "sure, I don't think anyone is going to buy it within this time" Untill 5 minutes later after the people left(and they were very nice people) another customer walks in and says, "I'd like to buy this car"....and he bought it. I'll never forget it, blue 2002 honda civic dx 4 door(this is year 2006). Sign the deal, all gravy. First set of people come back, see the sold sign in it, say "oh you didn't have to put sold on it yet, we didn't buy it yet, but that's so nice of you" ......"sorry guys, it got sold while you were gone" "but we told you that we're going to be back, bla bla, you son of mother loving yadda yadda"......yah, never forget it.

  Absolute nonsense. It would cause mayhem for dealers. On other hand, they also proposed for wholesellers to be able to buy vehicles from public, are you aware what happened to that?

  Totally agree, i believe you didnt want to mention the condition of your car after 2 days if that was a good truck people can "buy it" take needed parts and return to you and say oh its broken

  Ooof! Mine is '10 SES in the US, outside of salt area so no rust. These are easy to work on and keep running, but try to stay away from ones with the body cancer if you can.

  Im going to give it a shot I've got a 07 Dodge 1500 SLT 4.7 liter been a good truck with to start it made a Bazar crank sound not a grind and no start checked the fuses hooked up the battery charger no problem ...hooked up my H.F. scanner and I jumped the gun and pushed the da*n erase code button after I stopped cussing I turned the key to try and start it I got nothing no crank id erased the manufacturers codes to ...lucky me right ..only I don't feel lucky 😅 thank you for your time and help I appreciate you...

  Warranties can only be issued by the vehicle manufacturer. Look it up if you have to.

  I’ve heard that if you decide on an extended warranty buy a manufacturers warranty. Most & formost read the fine print keep in mind wear idems are not covered such as brake pads. Keep records on maintenance. Just to on be on the safe side. Know what the deductible is . Yes all manufacturers do have an extended warranty.

  Ironically enough, OMVIC is proposing to have a 10 day cooling off period. Im 100% against it. Its going to make it an absolute nightmare for dealers. So no dealer is going to hold to car for 10 days in order to deliver it. Or wait 10 days to even touch the car through safety licensing detailing.
