You have just saved me hours of re-recording. Thank you, sir.
why does my audacity dont have a limiter option
thank you soooo much
Grandpa on fire. Thanks for help man.
Thank you so much!
This is a really good video and helped me out a lot. Thanks my guy 💯
My first wish for Audacity: multithread.
Thank you! The noise floor issue about had me on the floor trying to fix it. This made it easy.
There was VERY helpful! Thank you!!
Is there a way to record with an open track? When I try it just starts recording at the end of my open track
'Audible' range.....
You don't need to duplicate the track necessarily, I just 'save as' and if I screw it up, I just close and don't save any changes.
Hi, I came across this video because I spent all day yesterday and half the night trying to fix the low noise floor on my recordings. Thank you for this solution. I'm going to try it now. Do you have any videos that address the opposite...too noisy?
Great video! I’m a beginner using audacity. Does this affect the ACX process when you prepare it for upload? Thank you in advance.
This guy is the number ONE. Thanks a lot buddy.
I just don’t use real time
Straight to the point, very informative. Thank you!
How do you undo this? Hitting the same commands a second time does not in fact undo it.
Great vid!
No disrespect but there is no de clicker or de esser for Mac. You probably are running some bogus app and not a reliable plug in. The LOW PASS filter is the proper way to go. No offense but try to be more punctual for the viewers because this was complete misinformation and a waste of time.
Thank you so much! You're the first person to explain this in a way that made sense, and now I am having SO MUCH less frustration in post-recording editing. I appreciate you immensely.
Thank you!
Nice video thumbs up

Great video! Thank you!
thank you so much i seen more than video to understand High/Low pass filters basic understanding and you were the one who explained it clearly. This is the power of teachers!
Great advice, thanks...
How do i adjust levels of the dark blue rms without affecting the light blue area?
I watched your new video on RX10. Thanks so much for producing that. Much appreciated! 👍
Thanks so much for making this video! I was wondering about this compatibility issue because when I Google about RX 10 and Audacity being compatible, Audacity says no. Good to hear from you that you are able to use RX10.
thanks. when i chop the wave up the labels then end up in wrong place, is there a way to make the labels stay relevant to the sections of the wave?
if you have -19 Lufs for audio broadcast/speaking ............ what would be a good number to use for a full band with vocals?? My recordings are always weak & not loud enough even bouncing into the red on recording.
I found that Audacity doesn't support some VST plugins very well, so I switched back to Sound Forge or just my Cubase sample editor instead.
3.51 doesn’t work with Sonible’s pureEQ. It won’t let me press play while Pure EQ analyzes the audio to adjust the EQ as required.
Audacity does not support Waves plugins too 😢. Not sure what's the issue on it. They are all vst3 plugins should be working because of it's standar
I use Waves with Audacity all the time.
BRILLIANT!
Thank you good sir, I am a beginner and your latest subscriber. Looking forward to gaining better skills at using this Amazing AUDACITY 3.5 free software! Much appreciation Cheers from Western Australia
This is what I was asking since day 1 plugins were introduced. Thank you.
You are a genius! Thank you so much, you saved my day and my audiobook project!
Been learning about fixing RMX, Peak & Noise floor issues for my audiobook from your channel. It's going well but I encountered a problem where the Peak is 1db and the RMS is way too loud at -10db. If I lower the RMS to within the -18 to -23 range, the peak become too low. Even if set the RMS to the loudest allowed for ACX which is -18, the peak becomes around -9db and fails. When I play it, it sounds fine but it won't pass. How do I lower the RMS without lowering the peak below the accepted threshold?
really useful, thanks for sharing
After a number of hours, lower one, the other one goes up. Lower it, the other one goes up. This is like herding cats...
Really useful, thank you. Do you know how difficult it is to track this stuff down? The Noise Floor is a real pain to lower. I'm trying both Dynamic Mic and Condenser mics. I'm on a M2 Mac Mini and I mostly use a condenser mic. It's pretty good quality - but perhaps not the best. So thank you for this great tutorial, I've learnt a LOT.
Good Morning Sir I have subscribed your channel. I am a Hawaiin guitar player. I am new to the use of Audacity. I record my guitar along with music track through Audacity, but I failed to derive desired sound of guitar like pro player . I also use Audio interface connecting it to my Amplifier. May be I am ignorant of proper use of Audacity to record and apply required effects for Electric Hawaiin guitar. Please post a video for electric guitar recording and proper use of effects there in. You may watch my videos in my channel in Audacity for your better understanding of my play.. Thanks and Regards Hemanta Kumar parhi My channel name GUITARIST HEMANTA
Massive help. Would be great if you could upload the room sound recording somewhere we could download it. I have a decent Audio Technica shotgun mic, sound booth equipment, SLobs and a GoXLR but my PC is near it all so not sure i'll be able to record quiet room noise.
I think this video just saved my life :) I received 55 narration file from a professional narrator for my children's book and also 55 files of a few seconds of music to put in front of each chapter from a composer. The music was over the Audible RMS limit and the narration was under. I learned how to alter the RMS but even when I set it to the lowest of -23, the peaks are often too high and the noise floor too low. I described it as a seven foot man trying to walk through a six foot doorway. I was worried the only way to fix it would be to go to every single peak in the six hours of audio and limit them. But using the peak limiter here seems like it will work. Just subbed to your channel. Do you have an 'Audacity for absolute beginners' video series? *EDIT: Just tested it on a 5 second music file. The initial ACX analysis is that the file is -0.09db peak so too high. The RMS level is -22.31 Pass Noise floor is -123.42 so too low. When I normalise the peak to -3 db it gets a pass but that also lowers the RMS down to 25.22 dB so that fails. The noise floor is now -120.34 db so still too low. How can I lower the peak without shunting the RMS low than the acceptable ACX range?
what if we do not have silent part in the track?
Oh my goodness, I have been searching and searching for this fix. You have just made my year. Thank you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been having so much trouble with this, and now you've shown me how to fix it. Subbed.
