I talk about Pathfinder. A lot. This channel is where I talk about some of my favorite aspects of Pathfinder: the gods, NPCs, and factions of Golarion. The videos here serve as a point of education and inspiration for players and GMs who want to incorporate these elements of the Pathfinder RPG into their characters and campaigns.

Very well done, I am happy you mentioned the imbalance of influence to combat early off. Excellent recap of the background lore and size references to the locations.
Thanks so much!
So glad I stumbled upon these videos. Been thinking about running an AP for a while and these will really help me narrow my choices down. Thank you so much.
I'll be running either this or Seven Dooms with my group.
I just got my copy of Seven Dooms. I'm excited to read through it.
@@Podfinder Its a banger for sure, especially if you have gone through the Runelords stuff
Great video! Can't say I'm thrilled with the recommended ancestries, but I can't imagine that anything breaks if the party consists of more traditional ancestries.
Yeah, a more conventional party of humans from Taldor/Andoran, Elves from Kyonin, Dwarves from the 5-Kings Mountains, and Halflings from Andoran will work just fine.
I rather like that this AP is one where it is heavy social based while at the same time being forest and nature themed, showing that social and influence isn't just for the Urban games. Some minor thoughts / suggestions of things I think you left out in otherwise good video :) Though in ancestries you forgot two ancestries the Tripkee and Kitsune. the Kitsune have their own village in the forest where they prefer to stay in their fox form Angen, and the Tripkee regard the wildwood druids with reverence(those that live there) and its highly prestigious to join. they aren't mentioned in the player's guide but in some lines in the lost omens books but those are neat options to include especially since Tripkee just became a core ancestry in player core 2. In the religion section, since golarion is a polytheistic setting, there is nothing stopping someone from venerating all of them. Gozreh is IIRC the principal deity venerated by the Green Faith. And Erastil and his family are venerated together too IIRC. Erastil's daughter Halcamora is another fitting one too since the town of Bellis is known for its honey and apiries and a devotee of her who has stuff to do with bees, like having bees as a familar or animal companion or as the swarmkeeper archetyype would be neat and fitting IMO.
Thanks for the feedback. I especially like your points in the ancestries. Had forgotten about the Kitsune and Tripkee in the forest when making this video, so thank you for bringing them up. I do want to push back slightly on the involvement of deities in the Green Faith. Per my understanding, the Green Faith is non-deific, and does not actively worship any deity. That said, followers of the green faith are generally on good terms with followers of nature-themed deities. Gozreh and the Erastil family are among such deities. Strict followers of the Green Faith will likely not worship these gods, though they might still acknowledge them as important cosmic allies. Less strict followers will likely incorporate faith in these nature deities with their belief in the Green Faith, in the same way people follow pantheons or a more broadly polytheistic lifestyle, like you mentioned. And thank you for bringing up Halcamora. Her areas of interest would absolutely make her relevant to life in Bellis.
@@PodfinderWhat a great response. :) Thanks for putting out fantastic videos, I like to listen to them to relax before bed.
I really appreciate these. Please keep making more 👍
Can do and will do! Glad you enjoy them.
I can't wait for Podfinder's Wife Guy arc
That's my secret, Cap. I've always been a wife guy.
Definitely an AP I'm interested in
You and me both.
Not what I was expecting but I like the theme of this so I appreciate this video! I think this AP also could serve as a interesting way to build characters for the upcoming Treerazer focused AP in Kyonin.
as this AP is 5-13 so you might have to interlace the last book of wildwood with the first book of that one in that case (assuming treerazer AP being 10-20)
That's a fun idea.
Loving these as usual.
Been thinking of running this with my War for the Crown group as a kind of follow up to that campaign 🙂
The man, the myth, the keeper!
It's kind of a neat follow up too! If you continue the timeline from that, it'll have been a few years I imagine so it could serve as a good way to bring up how they are doing.
I appreciate that it serves as a nice follow-up in terms of plot threads without retreading the same themes or locations.
It would be the perfect Taldor follow up. I am greatly enjoying your War for the Crown enactments.
*light kingmaker spoilers* My Regent player in the kingmaker campaign that I GM follows Findeladlara. Never noticed the whole "doomsayer" vibe which can be a useful tool for me to send they intel about the danger their kingdom might face! Or through the Kyonin elven queen you mentioned (Telandia Edasseril), since they have an elven settlement around a findelaradla castle !
That's a level of quality unmatched for such an (obscure, sorry to say) deity. I'm baffled
I really like this kind of overview of an AP. It feels easier to use for reference than the Players Guide in some ways since audible explanations feel easier to remember to me. Thanks for the video! Hoping one day for a Wrath of the Righteous video for obvious reasons.
Glad you enjoy the video style! The response to these videos has been very positive, so I'll be incorporating them into my production schedule from now on. I'll keep that suggestion for WotR in mind. I haven't made a guide for 1e yet, but I could definitely see those types of videos being helpful as well.
Boring god.
Welp, time to make a sohei monk following Irori. Keep up the good work, man.
Loved the Sohei back in 1e. Such a cool way to play a mounted archer.
@@Podfinder Gotta go with the naginata myself. I’m fairly sure they were meming with the x4 crit, but you gotta commit to the bit.
Going to be running Kingmaker at the end of September so this video was very helpful! Looking forward to the second video about the rules
Your videos CONTINUE to be excellent. I especially like the GM/campaign ideas you provide.
Thank you! Most people don't stick around for the GM information section, so I'm glad you enjoy it!
HUZZAH! Really top notch content man, looking forward to Baba Yaga next week.
Thanks! Just FYI, Baba Yaga is actually on the second of August. I added a bonus video next week talking about Wardens of Wildwood.
For people who want to use the "every part of the creature" approach that Ketaphys encourages, you could also look at the Monster Parts system published by Roll for Combat in the Battlezoo Bestiary. I've had one player really engage with that system & run wild with it in a campaign.
I've heard great things about that system, and the Battlezoo publication in general. Thanks for bringing it up.
Not surprised baba yaga will be a longer one from what I've across about her
I knew it would be long when I started writing, but I wasn't expecting it to clock in at nearly an hour.
@@Podfinder ya i watched mythkeepers talking about the kingdom she rules so by extension given she is both queen and a primary deity like figure of the region likely tons of lore to cover unfortunate some other deities don't have such care done for their lore personally think each of the pantheons should have at least one lore heavy member of the pantheon given some pantheons combined least from what i've looked into them often don't have a quarter of some of the more main deities even combined such as the Kishin oni or the asura rana etc which seem to only get a mention but no lore on who follows them, relations etc
I love the detail of disagreement on families causing discord and how you've started showing those differences in dieties that have overlap. It helps give them more depth for these dives to give reasons one might go with one diety over another. And I'm so excited for the next one mother of witches is gonna be so cool
Glad you're excited for Baba Yaga. Her video was a blast to make. Just FYI, I did insert another So You Want To Play video between this one and Baba Yaga after I recorded this.
The note about Gendowyn is really interesting since I'm playing a Ketephysian Elf in Ironfang Invasion! I'll have to bring that up to the GM to hopefully tie into a cool future plot point.
While I haven't yet played Ironfang Invasion, I really like Gendowyn. I hope Paizo does more with her in the future.
Really enjoying the series and also that you give a bit of your own creativitiy and inspiration. Always looking forward to your uploads💜
Thanks so much!
Enjoying videos. Wanted to Request since you did Abrogail possibly doing Tessa Fairwind or Grand Princess Eutropia. I think they have enough material. Both have been pet research projects of mine so would be cool. Past that, enjoying the vids.
These are both great ideas. I have my schedule planned for the rest of the year already, but next year is wide open for me, so I'll see if/where these videos ideas would fit best.
This is good to know since I plan to run the upcoming Tree Razer AP.
I would have mentioned that AP, but I recorded this video before the announcement of Spore War. I'm really excited for that one.
Glad he's gone! But condolences to his followers I suppose. Yours sincerely - A neutral good Cleric of Erastil.
Lol. An in-character response which I expect will be echoed across Golarion.
I love this. And after watching this i cant stop thinking of the phenomenon of forgetting something after walking through a doorway and wondering if that is a sign of her disfavor or a diatonically opposing being acting on doorways too (instead of growing and welcoming a new stage you regress due to a block on the memory thay drives growth). Also i hundred percent believe the followers are against an open concept on buildings. Sound not muffled and no separate public areas of house for multiple people to hang out with their own group. I just love the different small ways you can work with the doorway angle
Always a pleasure listening to your work.
Thank you very much!
I remember the first (technically second but the Mouse Guard RPG one-shot joke character doesn't count) TTRPG character I ever played was a sorceress who escaped her abuse after poisoning and killing her tyrannical parents. I've always wondered how I would go about porting her to Pathfinder 2e and the moment I read about Arazni I knew she'd respect the Unyielding a great amount, potentially even as a devout worshipper.
Urgathoa looks terrifying. Yep. That's the feeling I feel when I look at Urgathoa. Nothing else. Nothing at all. Nope. I am normal and not strangely attracted to a woman who is over half skeleton.
Lol. We don't shame here.
His mortal name was Norbert, it's true, my uncle works at Paizo and he told me
BS. My uncle works at Paizo too, and he told me it was Gorbert.
@@Podfinder That's his last name. He's Norbert Gorbert.
Abrie has my heart ❤
I imagine several people on Golarion could say the same, though in a much more literal sense.
I feel like Iomedaes ties to Asmodeus could make for a really interested backstory for a character.
When you said God Of Destruction, I immediately started imagining the song Beerus Madness.
Although I absolutely love dwarves, I've never actually played a dwarf.
I think they're pretty strong overall. The Defy the Darkness and Mountain's Stoutness feats make them stand out, as long as you can work around the reduced movement speed. I especially like them as gunslingers or rangers.
@@Podfinder Maybe when player core 2 comes out, I'll play a Dragonblood Dwarf.
Excellent as always
Thanks so much!
Janus passed to say helo, 😂
Janus walked so Alseta could run
very interesting. lots of ideas to use here.,
I think Alseta would get along well with Lymnieris, whose edicts include helping others through difficult transitions. Unrelated, I recommend looking at the Curtain Call Player's Guide, there's a possible nascent pantheon in there that is pretty interesting!
The civil engineering meme in a Pathfinder video sent me
As a Mechanical Engineer, I had to show a little love to my CivE brethren.
Yesssssss my favourite of the minor godssssss
Will you cover Yuelral this Elf month?
From what I can tell, there aren't any substantial sources on her.
Unfortunately, I will not. I've looked at every sourcebook I can think of, and there just isn't enough information available on Yuelral for me to make a video. I'm hoping that the release of the Spore War AP in 2025 might mean we're getting a Lost Omens Kyonin book, where more info on Yuelral might finally be published.
@@Podfinder awe. I'm sad but understand. Thank you~
Greetings & Felicitations!!! @PodFinder finally opened this hatch. Yes. Alseta is here. A deity whose transition from elvish adherents to being treated as humanity's own to the point her elvish avatar is rare. Though the older Pathway Miraculous Medallions continue to show her elvish features of one loss closely. The doors, hatches, and pathways with these medallions embedded in the transitional archways are known to last longer than those without. Supposedly a new contract or newly married couple who passed through an Alseta have similar benefits.
Yikes, that almost throwaway idea you gave of followers inflicting themselves with parasites to represent birth is so absolutely horrific. Part of me really wants to use it now. The rest of me feels like I'd gross myself out with my own character descriptions!
Wait for it to be revealed in War of Immortals that Iomedae was the one that killed Aroden. And then she's to one to kill Gorum to take his power and role, and militarising heaven as mentioned at the start of the video. This will kick of War of Immortals and Arazni will eventually kill her as she's being raised to the core 20. I doubt any of this would happen, and would probably upset a lot of people. Just came into my mind as you said that other gods disnt like what she was doing in heaven
I'm very new yo Pathfinder lore, but from what I've seen about War of Immortals is that when a god dies they create god rain which is what creates magic? So if Aroden died, why didn't this happen? Maybe it's got to be a specific situation to create the god rain? I haven't been able to gather all the information on it
It seems like a specific situation leads to a Godsrain-style event. Other gods have died without causing one, such as Acavna and Amaznen during Earthfall.
It's definitely just that Aroden is a bum and hidden himself away like the hero in Megamind
I'll admit, I do like this idea.
