    Great video! Love recognizing the songs you used and the way you used them in. Love G Jones aswell. Eprom's also a master, Shades is such a great project.

    I was front row at the Alive 2007 Chicago / Lollapalooza show. My life was changed that night, and I have yet to experience an event as emotionally powerful as that evening.

    You can control visuals with Ableton. At least now you can. I'm not sure about back then how stable it was. But you can line up audio samples to a video clip and use a controller to trigger them both.

    Thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding on alive 2007 that they used lemurs. After face to face/aerodynamic in the dark (moment 42:40), you can see the reflection of the screen from Tom's helmet, and alive is really running there. And how they click on the touch screen is also visible

    Saw them at Coachella in ‘06 and, if I’m being honest, wasn’t even the top act I was looking forward to that weekend. However, once that show started, everyone in the crowd knew we were witnessing something unique. I remember I was with somebody who was on the record as “not liking Daft Punk” who 20 minutes into that show turned to me and said “this is incredible”. Yeah, it was good. A lot of people put it as their number one live music memory. While I wouldn’t go that far, it easily makes the top 5.

    Fuck cell phone footage. At the show and on the internet. Why would I want to hear my favorite artists recorded by a phone in a crowd?

  • @emilywagner8704
    @emilywagner87042 ай бұрын

    Hey look, I'm not judging your opinion, I'm tired of a bunch of cell phones in a crowd to. But like, think about this frame of it. There's a small but dedicated group of people on KZread that record full sets in the best quality they can manage. This isn't new, before KZread it was DVDs, and before DVDs it was VHS and tapes. This channel is one of them. Not everyone can make it to a show like this. Due to poverty, disabilities, obligations and responsibilities, bad luck, you name it, You shouldn't have to be able bodied and have disposable income to enjoy art. This just lets the people that can't make it there, enjoy something a little special, and not feel so left out from the rest of y'all. Additionally tracking the progression of an artist is really fun and interesting, notice how GJones hasn't taken this video down? It's not the smaller view count, any manager is going to search for youtube videos of the of sets they manage I go to alot of shows and festivals and I owe to these people for showing me what was around me and who to look out for, it's not the same as being there, but 's not supposed to be

    Was at 2007 in Nîmes France in the Arenas Daft Punk concert and it still gives me goosebumps listening to it. It was like a wonderful joyful party and we were blown away by the bootlegs/mix they did so smartly. It never went down but kept on growing until the end. The sound was massive, the entire town could hear it to a point we had to put some cotton in our ears to not be deaf after. We definitely felt it! One of the best concert of my life !

    I discovered Fresh Static Snow at a very low time in my life. Yes the meaning of the song is very sad, but it made me realize that I'm not the only one who feels this way. Life has its highs and lows. I now live life for the highs and try to remember that the lows will pass.

    If I may offer a bit of potential insight that might allow you to put that into an even more optimistic perspective; Everything we experience as humans, is related to activity in the mind (or soul, depending on your perspective) but we are somehow awarded in life a conscience, that allows freedom of thought, expression( and experience. And all of those events are thanks to our senses, which exist thanks to our nervous system. We see, feel, hear, smell etc etc. But the single point of significance in us having any sensation at all is due to our ability to notice contrasting stimuli. We notice pleasure due to how different is feels compared to pain. And likewise, we experience happiness and content, due to how it contrasts with the low depression memories we have. Its all relative to the polar opposites of our experience. You cannot have joy and happiness your entire life, or it would be meaningless, cause you wouldnt be able to even recognize why its so special to feel happy. Just though for food. 🤷‍♂️
