Jamie Elman & Eli Batalion are entertainers (and closeted Jewish educators) from Montreal with combined credits spanning 20 years of theater, music, television and film - from starring in Mad Men, House MD and Curb Your Enthusiasm to writing, directing and producing short and feature films appearing at the Sundance, Toronto, Berlin and SXSW film festivals.
Their unique friendship spawned an irreverent tribute to the Yiddish language, culture and comedic tradition they were reared on. Calling it “YidLife Crisis,” they hatched the world’s first Yiddish sitcom, exploring religious and cultural identity in a decidedly modern multicultural world. Its popularity has led to multiple video and written projects, international press, multiple awards and over 3 million online views. Their ‘comedy peacekeeping’ keeps them working with celebrities and academics alike as they tour their live shtick around the globe.

As an American who lived six years in Zurich, I understand just about all the French and can piece together about 80% of the Yiddish. Great stuff. I watched this when it first came out and swing by for a rerun every year or so.
We love a repeat viewer! Sh'koyakh, merci
😆😆😆😆😆
😆😆😆😆😆
That was so weird - priceless! I'm not even Jewish but I love your humour.
😂
😂
And I just love Moishe Osher's Z''L version of Had Gadya! Wonderful touch!
Are you making any more of these? We need humour at this time. Please make some more!
So funny and very touching
My favorite line is at the end, when Leizer says “what would Freud say, huh?” Christina says “who?” And then Leizer says in Yiddish “you really like them JUNG, Huh?”
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Finally
I think my mayim bialik is wonderful at anything she does she's a wonderful show host for jeopardy she's wonderful in cooking shows and she s wonderful in movies 🎥 I'm happy that I have all kinds of ways to see her i really miss her so much I don't have any movies or books about her she plays Stephanie on the flight before Christmas and Amy Farrah fowler on the big bang theory I'm very proud of her for surviving a very bad heart attack and for hanging in there and not leaving me id feel so lost and lonely without her I really really like her alote what a beautiful lady Amanda Miller Rockledge Florida
Man.... I say this with so much love. You guys are jackasses. This is hillarious.
My mother has a tendency for knives. I never let her pack my bags. Also, I take great care if I borrow luggage. This might just be a “me” thing.
This is very fascinating as a German speaker. I understand completely except for when they use Hebrew words.
I had tears running down my face. I haven't laughed so hard in months. Sent this to a Jewish surgeon friend of mine. I know he'll love it!
You guys are awesome!
Hilarious!!
The punchline is an old Jewish joke! I laugh because I read it in a Jewish Jokes book by Leo Rosten. I think. I probably was 10 years old and I chuckled by the Chinese restaurant owner explained to the Yiddish man. I’m 55 years old. .
Holy shit, I'm getting old! It's the 23rd of December, 2023 and I'm watching this for the umpteenth time in the week before Christmas. And guess what I'm going to do tomorrow night? That's right, have dinner with my Jewish friends at Canton Dragon! Yasher koach, guys; love all your work. (well, most of it, anyway.....)
Delightful! Thank you, guys!
Tradition. That gets me every single time 😂
Montreal at its finest!!!
I love this segment, it really blasts through the ceiling
Happy birthday יאָשקע פּאַנדריק ! You’re the best!
Is that for real?מאַמע שטופּן? What a calque!
Well...that was odd...
This is AWFUL and profoundly NOT FUNNY. It also borders on the anti-semitic. Truly. Speaking in yiddish can't disguise the contempt that the makers of this video have for Torah Judaism. Anyone here who comments how much he likes this probably knows very little about true Judaism.
Makes me wonder how much she wrote her own lines.
Wonderful
Love these two!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
‘Der dude verbleibt ’😂
Looks like Montreal
It better cuz it is.
Akh und oykh humorischenen.
Ani ohev haverim Hebrewim v Shebrewim ehudim sheli, but I ain't a supporter of Hannuka, this holiday celebrates Jewish separation/ghettoization/separatism/anti-goyism. The Maccabees were Jewish Taliban. I ain't even Christian but I like Christmas/Yuletide. Some Christians are annoying during Christmas with "Jesus is the reason for the Season" nonsense, but Judaic anti-social collective introversion is also quite annoying. Weewee chopping must stop, the Jews have suffered enough, stop the cockacaust.
Ils font la poutine cachère avec une sauce de base végétale mais c'est dans l'ouest de l'île à Namur.
