Ruth Bader Ginsberg always held that the Constitution of the United States does not confer a right to abortion. So its a State issue. If you want legal abortion, elect state reps that will vote to legalize it.

Caucasians divided America remember from Spain and Portugal England Netherlands Germany Italy etc... ? And before that they divided Europe ... We should really look at the ROOT causes. Like how Israel and Europe and U.S. are all ROOTED in stolen land.

Reich is brilliant as always; our democracy would be greatly served if he had a much broader platform to share his ideas. As to the event itself: there are a variety of ways of interviewing, many specific to the setting (Hoschchild's forte is interviewing research subjects, drawing them out to build trust; serving as a bridge between invited guest and audience is definitely NOT her forte as demonstrated by this event). When your role as interviewer is to be a bridge between an audience and an invited guests, the less you interject of yourself, the better the quality of connection between the audience and the invited guest. As much as I like Arlie Hochschild, and greatly respect her work, she's mis-using her fieldwork interview style in this conversation; it doesn't work in this setting, and it gets in the way of listening. All the "yes," "uh," "hmms" that she constantly interjects as Reich is speaking is so distracting. And her need to constantly give approval to Reich and his comments results in disconnects; this is especially when she nterjections of "Wonderful" after Reich has spoken about very dire realities in our society. Roschchild would benefit from studying the interview style of someone like Jeffrey Brown of PBS, he is a master at listening intently, getting out of the way, and creating a seamless bridge between audience and guest.

I don't feel in a position to respond to a speech as great as this. Despite that, I must admit that while I came upon this video expecting to feel outrage because of the marketing of education that led me to the Berkeley website on which this was showcased, I am instead supportive. While I cannot say that I agree with everything you (had to address you personally to avoid any potential unconventional pronouns xD) stand for, I can say that this has had an impact on me, and the greater message you conveyed is valid. Kudos to you for being an element of change, I hope you keep your convictions and stay vigilant against the games played by the people in power (including golf). If deep thinking like yours was found on the internet as often as youtube shorts we might live in a place more aligned with the beliefs expressed at events such as this; a place not controlled by fear. P.S. Why is Walter White behind the Pope behind you?

One comment and one hidden. This man is a visionary of what a future could be. We have to find a way to break the chains of the past that we mover forward together not with one cannibalizing's the other. 2023 the Klan still has a foothold on our society they have abandoned their hoods for the badge and gavel and the strange fruit continues.
