For an end game crisis, I 'd love it if they implemented this like in Warhammer III Total war, in which there are sliders and a few options in how and how sever the crisis is to be inflicted....
If your doing the expedition don't end it until its finished as the rewards are good
@@James-oq4vm which is this? I honestly have no idea what I'm doing haha
@@TheRuggedGamer is basically what u have done already but there's rewards and stuff to upgrade with I play on xbox usually always on it (I always make a new save doing expeditions incase of crashes or bugs)
One of the best sky games out there so much to do always find new things after years of playing
While technically, I agree with you, all those things are kinda dull.
There’s too much foliage in my opinion. Unless you’re on a hill, it’s near impossible to lay down flat building pieces or equipment without it disappearing into the long grass. (Flourishing and tropical worlds)
Even on this, it kinda removes some of it but leaves bits sticking in... Its a little annoying for me.
Finally? Must be bait
I played this not long ago and it was buggy as hell, slow as hell and just not enjoyable at all. Recently tho... different story.
Okay ... Love your content as I chew through your various videos..... Question tho, how is the game even challenging when you have that many capital ships? Do you have a Mod on to beef up the Xenon threat ?? I'm just getting ready to build my own Ship Production and I'm feeling like I've won.... I roll playing from here on out.
@YukonJack88 the Xenon arnt as easy as they seem, the deeper you go the harder they get, plus, starting wars with factions can cripple economy
@@TheRuggedGamer BTW I am having so much more fun with this game due to finally being able actually get it to do shit... your instruction makes it all accessible.. Thanks eh
lol finally? it was "finally" good years ago by now. You like 3 years late to the revival lol
@@AKABoondock19 I tried it a while back, it's better now
@@TheRuggedGamernah man, it’s been good for about 4 years.
Great content.... I can't stand the module placement tools, in this amazing game. Are you fracking telling me that you can hang them out and about and they still work?? Bloody Hell
@YukonJack88 yup they have module traffic to keep stuff going!
hi nice video, i don't fine blue print of h, f, b .I can get and fix but no build , how you get blue print? i didn't kill unknow ship of xen maybe is after kill this ship? when he get 20% in life he stop to get dommage. can you help me
I have over 500 hours in this game on steam and maybe 1 or 2 hundred hours prior to purchasing it on Steam via Gamepass. I learned the glitches which is handy when you want quick money etc and the glitches when creating a unique base. I often played it to unwind from work or life. The work theyve put into this game is remarkable. One huge positive I should say is that people have to try it in VR. I really need to do that again. My one or main issue with the game is whilst there seems to be lots to do, it is actually quite thin and quickly becomes boring. I find certain elements in the game childish. I dont want a pet nor do I want to cook crap and the exhibitions are mind numbing. Theres only so many tutorials to play!. I eventually picked up X4 for a less child like game only to come across Boso Ta. I seriously cant win😂 TLDR: Probably the best story arc of any game in history from where they started to where they are now. Many things to do until you do them and then it becomes a bit boring but its cheap as chips for what you get.
@@homer1991 thanks for your comment, I'm enjoying it so far, ive never been able to get into it hopefully now I can
Love how version 1 looks. Still has some similar things, but overall it's definitely an improvement. Can't wait to check it out myself when I get time.
Love this game! I'm so glad you're going back to it! Even if it ends up being the only video you do. LOL
I love the game, I'm doing not bad in it but FFS, I have to google even graphics settings. Shit of a job the Devs did by explaining how to play
321 is life! 3 Iron, 2 Titanium, 1 Silicon. That's what it takes to build a simple shelter where you can replenish your air! Build them when you head out to explore or loot, then you have a string of shelters to use on the way back. A Shelter in the Iridium Cave would allow you to check the entire cave without using ANY extra O2 cans.
As a new player to x4 that really liked the ships. This dlc doesn't respect players' time as it take way too long to restart any of the missions. A all the stuff is locked behind getting high ratings on some of the missions. I think its the worst dlc i have ever bought and i bought oblivions horse armor.
It would have been much better if you were showing examples of what you're reading, at the very least some of the key changes that you felt made 7.0 worth while. podcast format on YT isn't my cup of tea
Note taken, I may look to that format in the future, as I tend to pick out what ive found best in my opinion anyways.
00:43 Did he just say "moon turd"? That "e" at the end is NOT silent (the system name is Japanese and means "moon ship"). That mistake changes it from "moon ship" to "moon shit". I had a good laugh.
Awesome
Yay trading now i watch you suffer

Anyword on the comeback of this series?
I've been playing the X series games on and off since X2: The Threat came out. After all this time with all the updates, expansions, new titles and long developer support which have all been consistent features of the series, Egosoft are still yet to figure out how to do a decent job in character modelling. If you compare the ones from X2 to the ones in X4 it is difficult to say that there has been much improvement on that point at all. They have managed to make the audio lines recorded for Boron characters ever more annoying though!
Coming along nicely
117 the stealth bomber
I suggest wayward scion for EVERYONE, or guided avarice, terrans is too easy mode. So many ppl complaining how easy it is in their 5 Asgards and 10 Syn.
Early on it's not a good idea to leave yourself in a Low Power situation. Terraforming stops, and if you have any Food Growers or Water Collectors, they too stop. Not good if you're low on food... Don't waste water by drinking while you're half full. Later on it doesn't matter, but right now you need to walk a distance to find ice. You're halfway to Food Growers. I'd consider upgrading the one or two Vegetube T1 you have to increase the speed. And save the aluminium you have for now. you need it.
Only reason you wouldn't in my opinion is lack of mod support or waiting for mods to be updated e.g. interworlds, Other than that 7.00 working great for me. The fact i can type a few letters into the search bar and it brings up all the options without you having to remember everythings exact name is game changing.
I don't think you can craft the H by unlocking Xenon technologies sadly.
Did they nerf Fly by boarding? Ive heard they did.
There have been a lot of changes for boarding, I'd have to have another dig into it to see exactly how it's effected it
I just started 7.0 and I hope they did, it was too big of a temptation, and it's a game breaking tactic, very close to being an exploit
The experimental shuttle looks so cool has a good base speed but its weapons suck, they hit hard but they are all over the place.... will still use it as it looks so cool😊
one major note is that I've heard stories about how Xenon and Khak would pretty much decimate most regeons of the galaxy leaving entire spans of red sectors in their wake prior to 7.0. What I've found in 7.0 though is you can pick a spot in the galaxy, set up shop, and live there for days to even weeks without being bothered. When you're all set up and ready to explore you'll find that the majority of sectors haven't been taken by the hostiles. They'll still have snagged a system or two but ultimately the AI is better and more capable of putting things up to a stale mate so that it requires player intervention to break.
Note that those are just that, stories. There has not been a major change in faction invasions for a long time. people just keep forgetting that X4 is very dynamic and each start even if using the same seed will not necessary lead to the same result.
@@Ketraar very true, the new E variant ships in the hands of the improved NPCs make that a less likely outcome now days though.
@@GlitchedVision Again this is not really true, there are many factors that influence outcomes, claiming the E have more impact then others is yet to be backed up by stats. In my long run test there are still many variations and the small patterns that we can see (since we would need to do 1000s of these tests to get reliable data and no one has time for that) its not much different then before 6.00, in fact even 5.00.
@@Ketraar the time saving option would be to go ask the egosoft coder/s who wrote it in, as long as it wasn't NDA info.
To add my 2 cents to this- I'm brand new to the game, and about ~50 hours into my first play through. So far as I can tell the Xenon have not yet broke out of the systems they started the game in. They have made incursions, in particular they made a play for Hatikvah's Choice while I was there doing the missions- I was gonna head back to my base to try and build a fleet to help, but as I got to the Jumpgate a massive Terran Intervention Corps fleet jumped in. An Asgard, Syn's, Osaka's- you name it. Even some Argon ships showed up to help. So I just stayed around to watch. That was a hell of a battle.
On steep uphills, JUMP! Resources from Meteorites will DESPAWN. Collect it or lose it. Regular meteorite ores despawn when you log out. Some others can despawn in seconds. The Progress Screen is an unlock so you get it later. Switch off the Torch when it's not needed! YTs compression algorighms makes a mess of the video! DO NOT bring a full backpack when you go to loot a wreck! At most, bring a single O2 cannister! BUILD STORAGE in your base. Check at the bottom of the list of what you can construct! you're at pikoKelvins, and the ice doesn't start melting until 100 nanoKelvin. You're a long way off, so stop wasting time checking.
Stop with the Feng Shui! It's a waste of time and resources in early game. Setting up TWO bases is even more of a waste. 321 is life. 3 Iron, 2 Titanium, 1 Silicon. That's what needed to build a 1x1 Shelter with door. DO NOT carry anything unnecessary when heading out. You have a limited size backpack. Every slot counts! Bring only 1 Food, 1 water, one O2 and the 321. Head out so far as you can or want, build shelter, explore whatever you wanted. LEAVE shelter in place. If you want to go further, collect another 321, take a breather, then head out. Building up on that ledge is a bit of a mistake in early game. It's a long way to any resources, at least until you get a JetPack. (Yes, building a base next to your pod is also poor choice, if you expand it much. But don't worry, you need to get into MTis before that becomes an issue) Also, placing the base on the ground on that ledge was not all that wise, either. Your base will be limited by the rocks on the edge of the ledge. The base modules CAN NOT clip into them. Lifting the base slightly and installing stairs would have been a good idea. If it looks as if it's possible to walk or jump somewhere, there may be something worth investigating there. Look over, around and under everything.
@@norwegiangadgetman I will note, never played this game before, I enjoy being tidy, my ADHD is satisfied :p. But thanks for the tips!
@@TheRuggedGamer Tell your ADHD to take a hike. This is at least in the beginning a survival game. Until you have a secure food source(several Food Growers) you need to work efficiently in order to conserve the food you happen to find in crates and wrecks. Running into a wreck to collect two or three items is not good. Wasting precious ores on Desks is not good. If you want the screes to sit on top of something, use Chests. You should be able to get to food growers by 30 - 40KTi unless you really screw it up, though, and after you get to Blue Sky(175KTi) you get access to better equipment so it's not quite that bad any more. Good of you to get more heaters going. That should unlock the Vegetube T2 soon, and a few of those should fet you to Food Growers quickly. Study the lists of unlocks in the screen very carefully to decide what to focus on.
Had this game for a few years and never got into it. Struggled with mining and now after watching this, I'm thoroughly enjoying it! Earned a sub, cheers dude! 👍
@@DrummerDudeCal thank you, glad you can finally enjoy the game!
I'm sorry mate but your guide isn't fit for begginers.
You could have researched how automatic storage works, we do know, it's not a new game, we have every single detail in the game nailed down and even dev verification for it.
I love this game, can't play it myself due to computer/internet issues but enjoy watching other people play it nonetheless.
Ah dal have fun Rugger
Time stamps for chapters would be good...for all of your X4 videos (since they are long), but other than that great job, tnx for explaining stuff.
No rush to play this one. Just a copy-paste of Space Engineers... it even copies its goaless gameplay and limited mechanics. The dev gives a bunch of tools (Base, vehicles, etc.) but there is nothing to do with them.
@marystar1924 I mean it's completely different to space engineers, I have many hours in SE... thats about building mostly freely whatever you want. This game is modules, pre built, and basically about terraforming a planet, which is effected by what you do on that planet
Bought a game not while ago, and started wit scion I mean, why would you start as young gun when you can start as Top gun with your Aviator glasses and leather jacket You can get every story plot, every sector and ship in this game, but not your cool glasses
I would like to see the episode two
Thanks for sharing,I'm interested in content like this since I RPG Star Frontiers too:)
My absolute beginners guide would be this: 1. Go to hatikva start the mission and get the free trader (no combat free easy ship) 2. Do the boron gate discovery mission and get the free full spec mako (no combat free easy ship) 3. Strip the mako (it has tier 3 modules) and get the money 4. Find good food and medicine prices, the trade income might look small but you can fit a lot of them in a medium trader buying at around 50 per med and selling at about 65 per med can earn you hundreds of thousands of credits per run (full ship). Other stuff might earn you more, but food and medicine is reliable good profit, energy cells are as well, but they don't pay out as much if you are buying them. 5. When you earn a few hundred thousand credits buy a mining ship and find a good place with nividium and tell your miner to auto mine (make sure to be in a safe sector, khaak won't appear this quick into the game start but watch out for pirates) a full nividium ship can earn you a pretty penny. Alternatively you can just do auto mine silicon (helium, methane, ore are also good but silicon pays the most) 6. When you get about a million credits go buy a energy cell production blueprint (solar panel) and make a solar power station in your preferred faction main region This will expedite your faction point grinding and get you access to good strong medium and large ships (if you can afford them, but with your stations and miners you should be able to pretty quickly). After the station is built set your medium trader to trade with the station and watch the credits roll in. After you finish setting this up go and camp the gate in Hatikva, you are looking for SETA components. No one talks about SETA that much, but it is a life saver, the tutorial won't teach you about it, but you can basically speed up in game time and make your life soooo much easier (waiting for station building and production ramp up can feel like watching paint dry). At this point you can start enjoying the game, go around doing faction quests while you have passive income to finish them (most of their quests require money/resource investment from your end before they pay out) SPOILER! If you want to discover this on your own don't read the next passage. These missions will jump start your game into hyperdrive mode: 1. If you want the best free destroyer in the game, go to getsu fune, start the solar defender mission, go through it and near the end you will get a free destroyer from the Terrans (if you want to finish the mission easier don't give the ship you find, it can hide you from the xenon, also you don't need to destroy the station to get the destroyer) (for best story scenario option finish Hatikva missions first). These missions are combat heavy but if you have a good frigate/gunship you will be fine. 2. Go online and find pre-set locations for abandoned ships, some of them can be sold for a pretty penny (or you can keep them) the list is even bigger if you finished timelines scenarios with at least 1 star 3. Find you player HQ and start working on teleportation first, after the research prices get ridiculously high switch to modules and do EMP bombs to get blueprints for free (you won't get blueprints from modules before you research how to get them). PRO TIP activate the EMP bomb from at least 2km range, place them in your space suit, pop in your ship, click the bomb and go full reverse. Once at 2km+ you can trigger it without any repercussions. After you activate it, it might seem like it didn't do anything but if you get really! close you will see 4 new decryption nodes. 4. After you do this and you are at about the medium game stage, go into avarice, save the trader, do his missions, at the end betray him and join Northriver, you will get a little bit of a faction minus with the syndicate but not as much as with the other option. Most importantly you will get a lot of money especially for this stage of the game. All of the aforementioned will take you a few hours of playing but after doing it all you will be set to mold the game to your liking, at this point you can go full manufacturing mode, you can get your destroyers and start cleaning xenon from the map, you can dive into deeper warmongering quest plots. etc... For me personally this is where the game starts, before that it is mostly grinding and waiting.
PS. If you aren't doing a specific faction playthrough or are going with the Argons I can't recommend recycling enough, especially for claytronics. Hull parts is pretty easy to set up but claytronics require more materials. By setting your faction build method to closed and going full recycling you will save a lot of headaches with production/station building and only need 2 blueprints.
Images would tell us more than words..
