  DarthMarino, I finally got this hack to run. Can you tell me the cheat code to make the CPU’s team MK please. Thanks, and if you can share a list for all cheat codes for this version that would be great! I can’t find a site that gets them all together and correct.

  It's not a "cheat code" in the normal sense. It's done with MAME cheats. Go to mamecheat.co.uk and download the latest version. Put the file into a folder named "cheats" in your main MAME directory (don't unzip it). Make sure cheats are enabled in MAME. When you are in the game press Tab and go to cheats. You can then pick special characters for each player.

  I tried but it's not working for me. Several of the Model 2 games link for me such as Daytona and Sega Rally but this won't connect the machines when I try.

  @@DarthMarino too bad! One of my favourite arcade experiences a bunch of people at my arcade got really good at it. It was fun to watch two pros go at it. Thx for the response. Maybe the two player is a different rom?

  @@murraybain5359 No, it's just settings in the menus. One is set to Master and one to Slave and they should link up. It just looks for a network and it never happens on this game.

  Are you using Lunar IPS? Just make a copy of the original Super Mario Kart ROM and use that program to patch the copy.

  @@Housestationlive I use SNES9X or Mesen-S. It should work on any SNES emulator that can run Super Mario Kart which should be all of them.

  There's not really something different available but I would recommend it. My only complaint is a nitpick that you don't really notice when playing.

  @@DarthMarino Would you recommend them as full time replacements for the tankstick joysticks? I have a set of older rotary joysticks from ultramarc, but they are so tall that I had to take out the bottom of my tankstick. I've been looking for a replacement and I was thinking this might be it. I'm worried about the quality of the controller for other games (i.e. non-rotary games)

  @@googlecloud-kevin9804 I personally wouldn't. I like the feeling the traditional bat-top stick for most games. I could see these being annoying if I'm frantically spinning the stick to do Zangief's pile driver or something and it clicks to the next spot. I'm always a proponent of having separate controls for specific functions instead of the one-size-fits-all approach which is why I have so many.

  I don't know what that is. Is it running MAME? If so then you can map the throttle to the INC and DEC inputs for it.

  Great video. I was struggling with controls in Assault when mapping the two analog sticks. Works much better using the d-pad and 4 buttons. Not as intuitive however. What's the reason that the analog sticks don't work well? (I guess cause they're analog). Is there a way to get those to work better?

  It's just because the game wasn't designed for analog input. It can feel clunky. You have the added throw distance and you don't get the instant response of a simple digital stick/input. I suppose you can play around with the deadzones but it won't change the physical feel of the stick.

  @@DarthMarino Thanks for the reply. Just to follow up, I found an article (lookup "Joystick mapping in Mame") on how to update the joystick map in Mame so an 8 way joystick behaves more like a 4 way joystick (which Assault uses). Doing this makes it much more playable now using the twin analog sticks, but two digital sticks would still be the superior way to play. Just posting to hopefully help anyone trying to configure their dual analog gamepad to play Assault better.

  With a litte bit more time and budget this could have been a real good successor. The animations of the claytalities don't even look as fluid as the regular animations in clayfighter 1. Sometimes after the claytality the winner moves, sometimes not. Pity. Some of this ideas are really good and fun.
