    @ 47:24 Tamil Separatist who killed Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi were not Indian Tamils. These were Sri Lankan Tamil Separatists, fighting to create a Tamil Sate called Tamil Elam in the northeast of Sri Lanka. The reason being Rajiv Gandhi had interfered in the Sri Lankan civil war on the side of the government.

    @abbakkachowta6326Ай бұрын

    Good reasonably balanced view of an Westerner which nowadays is rabidly anti Modi..You kind of half alluded why the trajectory of Pakistan is so different from India but then glossed over. The difference is India value system draws from Hindu civilization while Pakistan from Islamic roots. Hence the difference. You were spot on about the mind boggling diversity of India. With su h centrifugal forces at work, there has to be a glue which will keep India together. The gobbledegook of Socialist Secularism doesn't enthuse anyone. The magic formula is Hindu culture which is what is driving India upwards. And Hindu culture includes all religion including Muslims. If the India Pakistan borders are open today what do think will happen. Would a single of these so called oppressed Muslims go to Pakistan? NO. Instead all Muslims from Pakistan will flood India as is happening with Bangladeshi illegal migrants. All the pluses as well as minuses of India are down to Hindu civilization. Indians are keen on education, enterprising, problem solvers and generally peaceful is down to Hindus. Similarly the highly discriminatory tendencies, noisy and tolerance of poor.public hygiene is also down to these negative values. Modi and Hindu nationalism tries to address these issues in a slow constructive way.

    Lecture is based upon secondary sources, mostly from the Western publications. It lacks depth and facts, both. -India stopped using paper ballot long back. Also, there are no Dravidian languages in the south. - At least, three south Indian languages have Sanskrit as their base. And all the northern languages have Sanskrit as their base. - Modi has not changed constitution. In fact, Congress changed the large portion of the constitution, especially Indira Gandhi with 42nd Amendment Act.

    1.'India and Pakistan fought multiple wars'... Nope... Pakistan attacked India multiple times. 2. Many religious and ethnic communities could find shelter in India even before Constitution was formed. 3. Religious intolerance in Islam causing all the friction mentioned in 2 nd point Hinduism is pluralistic and can accomodate one more God ( Allah). Problem arises when chants are raised ' There is no other God than Allah and non- believers will be beheaded. 4. Being a Dalit I can assure you the Victim mentality is fueling the reverse caste discrimination. 5. Painting BJP Or Hindutva ideology as some kind of danger to Indian democracy/ secularism is a myth. Hindutva and Hindus are keeping the democracy and Secularism intact in India. 6. Many Christian Conversion Mafias are master minding these divisive strategy. This rabid urge to convert others is the true intolerance practiced by Christians and Muslims which needs some treatment.

    Too many inaccuracies in the lecture. The leader who stitched together the coalition in 1977 was Jayaprakash Narayan. Morarji Desai was nominated the PM by him subject to election by the MPs, who accepted the choice. Atal Bihari Vajpayee didn’t break the coalition but it was broken by Chaudhary Charan Singh. Vajpayee moved out after the election was announced & there was a concerted effort to purge his supporters from Janta Party. I expected more focus on recent history. But your recent history is even more inaccurate. You should talk of the insecurity of the Hindus too, who face lots of discrimination under the rules framed by the Congress party. For example, Hindu temples and other institutions have all been nationalised and Hindus can’t run their own institutions any more. Hindu religious practices are rountinely trampled upon and so called secular leaders give open call to annihilate the religion without any fear of reprisals.

    - The name India is derived from the the river Indus which in Sanskrit is Sindhu. - India uses EVM or the Electronic Voting Machines in its elections. Voting takes place in multiple phases. - Exaggerations aside, amendments to the constitution is natural with the passage of time. It is a sign of thriving democracy. - RSS doesn't believe in caste discrimination and is involved in extensive social work for the upliftment of the socially backward communities. - Social policies in India has never been discriminatory even to this day, whichever party maybe in power.
