Tell me somebody please how they make that solo guitar effect in that song? At 1:54 the solo guitar

It's not a guitar, it's a harmonica. Mick is singing live but everything else you're hearing is just the instrumental from the album version of the song.

GIMME SHELTER pas seulement une chanson un hymne pour toute une génération - Toujours impressionnée par la puissance vocale de jagger et ce jeune Mick Taylor à l'époque un super guitariste - RIP CHARLIE et Brian Jones - les stones the best

This is one of my all time favorites. It was used in Ken Burn's Vietnam war documentary. I think had the war not have been going; it may have never been written. I think it was perfect storm allowing this song to be written.

Always better on the album. The live stuff, especially Mick, was always sub par.

Subpar? You’re nuts. Listen to Pink Floyd stand still and attempt to emulate a recording perfectly then. I'll take the raw energy and dissonance of the Stones over that bore-fest every time. It’s rock and roll, not a night at the opera.

The organized chaos of this song, the edge of cacophony, that all keeps the time, it is as if we suddenly feel the war burning toward our door. All those people in history who needed shelter from the bombs and still do... they captured it.

Love the Beatles, but to me they never topped this track and it’s why they are greatest rock n roll band. And I’m talking the studio version and countless live versions. If you disagree, name a better Beatles track?

I've never Understood Why everybody thing thanks, The Rolling Stones are so greatold, Craig. And to be honest, they have great songs. But are horrible musicians from the drummer? It's a guitar player's all they have is a front man, that's it. I shouldn't say horrible musicians. Just not Great musicians

Mick Taylor the lead guitarist (here, just miming the rhythm) from 1969-74 was a great musician and virtuoso. The others were not, but they had a feel and distinct sound.

Mick Taylor playing a Les Paul Custom (Keith's guitar?) is strange but very cool. Keith is not shown with the band, so maybe Mick Taylor borrowed it?
