I really enjoyed this vdeo, discussing QAL's from the host's perspective. If I may, from a participants perspective, I love a QAL that is well organized, a lovely pattern and sometimes a challenging pattern, so I can learn a few new things. I tend to join a QAL, if I like the fabric used in the sample. Not to say I don’t have a stash, but I just like being able to get a kit or yardage so I can just sit and sew. My preference is buying yardage, because I starch and cut my borders length of fabric, and I always like having extra fabric at hand. It seems as though, here in the states, many new collections sell out so fast, if you don’t have enough initially, it’s hard to track down extra fabric if needed. If working from a complete pattern, I prefer to pre cut all my fabric ahead, and I arrange it block by block on a design board. That way when the QAL starts I’m already to go, and if I feel like sewing a big ahead I can do that. Right now I’m looking forward to Anne's upcoming breast cancer quilt QAL. My preference communications method is newsletter or blog posts, emails as well. I’m not a social media user. I watch the videos on you tube. Thanks ladies for all the great information provided today.
Thank you for a very informative chat about sew alongs. I watched as a customer of said with love and a sometimes participant in Anne’s sew alongs. I have learnt now to roll with whatever comes along with life and the amount of time I get to complete the project. I choose those I like as likely to get a finish - even if not always in the time frame of the sewalong . Don’t stress the small stuff and enjoy the journey. I love the community and positivity in the sewalong Facebook groups.
Had SEW much fun, chatting with you all this morning. A little stress inducing but so good to get started and learn all your hints and tips. See you all next month! 🥰
Always ‘fun’ doing a live!!
I'd tape both to the table and thent sew. I use binders all the time..there is no need to keep pulling them.
That’s an interesting thought! I’ll try that for my next one to see if that works for me ❤
I purchased this fantastic tool a few months back. One of the purchases I’ve ever made. Saves tons of time and really helps with stitch accuracy 👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️
so glad to hear Linda! You will be making lots of jelly roll rugs now!
Onde encontrar essa peça pra comprar

This block is gorgeous!! 😍 Hopefully I get the chance to make it this weekend.
Yay! So glad you like it ❤
Absolutely love the color and pattern of your beautiful rug! You made it look easy!😊❤
Thanks! It isn’t too hard to make… just a bit of time and patience ❤
loved looking at all those beautiful threads.
I can’t wait to unwrap them all and play!! ❤❤
She has great you tube tutorials

If you sew on a vintage singer, you probably already have this attachment. I have a 201-2 with a bias attachment that does this
Oh wow! They knew how to make them back then! ❤
Packing everything shown doesn't leave any space for fabric or the project you are working on. Still need a tote of some sort for iron, fabric, etc.
Yes. I have my projects in plastic tubs with all the fabric, pattern and any specific notions required, so I take a couple of the tubs with me as well. ❤
How does something feel beautiful?
it has a soft and silky feel to it 💜💜
It's 4 parts
Hi Nancy, not sure what part of the video you are referring to "in 4 parts'?
@@SaidWithLove The Clover Fabric Tube Maker is 4 parts.
Do you have directions for which print was used where? Thank you
Hi Joanne - Camille has the SKUs (the numbers for each of the fabrics) on her website, as a link on the product page. thimbleblossoms.com/collections/pdf-patterns/products/edelweiss-paper-pattern-1 💗
I was able to buy a Fat Quarter Bundle of Erica’s fabric. It is beautiful, and you are right, it does have a Lori Holt type feel to it. And, like you, now what do I make with this adorable fabric. I really like the seed packet fabric.
So glad you were able to get some! The seed packet print is just lovely 🥰 Let me know what you decide to make ❤
The seed packet .. so sweet.
it is so cute in real life... can't wait to do some fussy cutting with that one!
I got a fat quarter bundle, too. Love it. The pink is perfect.
What are your plans for your bundle? ❤
I agree with you that I like the piecing to be emphasized rather than the quilting.
After all our hard work it deserves it! 🎉😂
It's gorgeous Anne, the colours are perfect. I appreciate you dressing to coordinate as well!
😂😂 I didn’t even actually plan that!!😂
Where do I get the pdf quilt labels you mentioned in one of first videos?
Hi Tracee-these were in that week’s sewalong email ! If you haven’t signed up for the sewalong emails go and do it now, as I am going to close off the signing up in a couple of days! There are always extras and goodies for those that sign up to my Sewalongs ❤❤
I make my borders exactly like you😊. I couldn’t deal with the plaid border- maybe I stretched it when pressing it. The lines were too wonky so I ordered some Bella solid in Navy. 🤷♀️
Good idea! Much easier to deal with! ❤❤
This is a wonderful tip Anne!! Something I have been struggling with and you explained it better than anyone else!! Thank you!🤗💞
So glad it resonated with you! ❤❤
Looks beautiful Anne! Thanks so much for the tip about cutting the border, you have been so helpful and I truly appreciate you walking us thru this gorgeous quilt step by step. Jenny from Florida. @lovetosewnana😘😘💞💙
My absolute pleasure! 💙💙💙
Your quilt is looking great! I couldn’t wait for Shoreline to come out, so made mine with Nantucket scraps and fat quarters. I used a beautiful dark blue grunge for background and borders…love it. Still to be quilted.
Ooh how wonderful in Nantucket Summer 💙💙💙
I use a roll of 1” stickers for all my marking, works great.
✅✅ sounds good!
👮🚔🚨
I’ve only ever made my boarders like you 😊😂 Life’s too short 😂😂❤❤❤❤
Hahahaha.... yes, it really is. there are LOTS of quilt tops still to make!
It would be nice to see you start from the middle
Hi Sharon, you need to purchase the pattern from Roma Quilts on ETSY (the original pattern designer) to get all the information regarding how to start and make an oval shape too. 💕💕
Thank you for creating these Edelweiss videos. I'm so excited to find your channel! Lots of great information in this video and I'm looking forward to sewing this quilt and also getting acquainted with your site and other projects.
You are welcome! Glad you have found my channel 💜
Thank you so much for this. You have kept me from going insane. And…..saved so much ripping out time.
YAY! So glad it has helped you ♥
All lovely
Sooo lovely!
LOVE Eye Candy! Also really like Cali & Co and Sunday Brunch.
Eye candy in real life is just SOOO vibrant! and the neon pops REALLY pop! Not sure it showed up that well in the video 😂
@@SaidWithLove I think it'll go really well with Sugar Cone ❤️
I loved way too many collections❣ Love Letter, Love Blooms, Chirp, Sunday Brunch, and Cali & Co. Favorite colors are the soft lavenders, pinks, reds. In Addition, for Sunday Brunch and Cali & Co I loved the whole pallet. If my Grammy could just see the fabrics of today, she would be totally in love. Thank you Anne for the wonderful preview.
We are so lucky to have such a variety these days! And I have so many things in mind to make for some of these collections!❤❤
I am in the middle of trying to cut all of the pieces to your wonderful project bag but the instructions don’t have height or width mentioned at all so not sure which is which on most pieces. Please help as I don’t want to ruin my lovely fabric 😊 PS Love your work
Hi! If you go to the blog link (it is in the caption but have popped it here too) saidwithlove.com.au/tula-pink-zippy-project-bag/ you can download a PDF of the free pattern. There are full cutting instructions and detailed how-to in there! ♥
Thank you, I had printed the instructions, now I’ve gone through everything a number of times & understand that the finished size of the bag is 12.5” wide x 13” high. Wasn’t too sure as the rest of the measurements are height x width in that order. All good now, cant wait to make some 😊🦋🌺 PS I really appreciate you answering me seeing you did this video a while ago
Love the Lizzy House prints, so glad she’s back. I think they would be hares going by her previous prints. The flowers are hydrangeas and I think Dahlias are the other ones. Really pretty collection.
Thank you for the flower names! Yes, those hydrangeas are just gorgeous 😍😍 I was a bit sad when I had to send the capsets back 😥😥
Thank you Ann for this video detailing some very good sewing tips!!
my pleasure! Hope you are enjoying the sewalong :)
Love it. What pattern did you use for your jacket
I used the Tamarack Jacket by Grainline Studio!
Thank you for sharing. Love your quilted jacket.

Please share the name of this jelly roll that you are using and where can I find it. I am in the United States. Great job on this video. You are so inspiring.
It is Main Street by Sweetwater Fabrics for Moda. It came out late last year so you might still be able to find it somewhere online 💚 And thank you.
I have had this pattern and some of my stash fabrics set aside to make this quilt so I was over the moon when I discovered your website and spotted the QAL. Ive signed up for emails and ready to go!
YAY! So glad you found me and are joining the sewalong ❤❤❤
Hi little tip to stop stitches from skipping,I noticed that you have a Janome sewing machine, I have a Janome sewing machine and to stop your stitches from skipping I use purple tip Janome sewing needles and that stop the stitches from skipping good luck thankyou for sharing your video ❤️
Thanks! Yes, I didn’t have any of those left when I did this video!
@saidwithlove Are you using a walking foot or a regular foot?
a walking foot. It needs it to help get through the thickness and keep things moving easily :)
When I made my first JR rug years ago there were no tools to help make the rope. I’ve used several different tools since. Now I’ve discovered Clovers JR tool and what a joy! I made six rugs for Christmas gifts last year in half the time it used to take me. I think I’m going to get a second tool as a spare. I’m so bad about misplacing things. I cannot thank Clover enough for making this product.
It’s just the best isn’t it!! 🩷🩷
Were did you buy the tool an the name please
The info is in the caption, but here is the link saidwithlove.com.au/shop/clover-fabric-tube-maker-for-jelly-roll-rugs/
