My freshman year of high school! This was the only year I was in the mixed choir - I was in senior mens the next three years. This is still hands down my FAVORITE piece I ever saw in GMEA and made me totally want to be in senior mens. Guess I got my wish 😂

My choir College sing this song and our professor said this song is for more advanced choir. And this 9th and 10th graders can sing this song, its could be possible either the school is experienced music or the teacher like to push challenging on their students. My music teacher at high school did the same to us and it's help us to push out of our comfort zone because if we stuck on singing English only song than it's hurt us music students not gotten used different languages songs. I see this first handed when some music experienced students and new ones haven't experienced different languages songs. I did and I can see why my music teacher said it's really important to sing in different languages. My classmates and professor was shocked I can sing in different language so easily. My professor asked how, I told her my music teacher from my highschool likes to push us to learned different language songs. She was impressed and asked to help out other who needed help which I did.

The correct spelling for "Tshotsholaza" is Shosholoza. Moving Fast, Moving Strong. The word Shosholoza is a combination of both Ndebele (of Zimbabwe) and Zulu (of South Africa) words meaning “to push forward, endeavor, or strive.” The sound of the word itself is symbolic of the steam engine trains that carried miners through the mountains
