@wq67372 жыл бұрын
Klebeverbindung.

Are the head lights and indicator lights sold separately and you have to find after market support? Plus what keeps the water out the sides of the door openings to keep you from being sprayed by an oncoming vehicle or even precipitation from the sky being blown in that direction?

The Arcus Velomobile looks good, but the lack of information made it a bit of a waste of time putting the video on show. Would it have been too hard to show what speed the AV was travelling at? Does it have an electric motor? Indicators? Adequate headlamps? Seating/luggage room ? Available doors? Shock absorbers?
@alexwilsonpottery37335 жыл бұрын
Arthur Giles; the point of videos, is that you use your eyes to watch and therefore glean information from them. The speed of any human-powered vehicle is determined by the available 'engine' (yourself), gradient and surface condition of the road, tyre pressure, headwind or tailwind or quarter wind, combined weight of 'engine' and velomobile. This particular machine does feature an electric motor assist, which would help in the ascent of hills. Each country/state has different regulations on how many watts your motor is allowed, and the top speed with assist. Looking at other info on this velomobile, you'll find it comes in a variety of configurations, including doors. You might consider checking out the Leitra if you're looking for ease of entry/exit and grocery-luggage carrying and commuting. If looking purely for speed, then WAW, Quest, Mango, Mulsanne, might be better choices. I'm working on a fairing for my Windcheetah trike, the better to negotiate Iowa winters, rain, and visibility in traffic. Good luck in your hunt.

There are so many other things to consider for a velomobile beside power as I have found out. Since the wheels tend to be less than 26 inches in diameter with commercial ones and they have to carry more weight it is important that they have better independent shock absorbers than 2 wheeled vehicles and since they are still very light weight and have more than 2 wheels they need to have some kind of compensating built-in mechanism for safety and efficiency in turning, furthermore, they need to have a decent turning radius. With the standard upright bicycle the turning radius is as good as one could ever want so in conclusion power should be secondary to all of these issues! These ones need to be addressed first!
@peterwilliamson1759 жыл бұрын
I think this is a very smart concept. Optional open sides to keep wind from pushing the bike yet nicely enclosed around the inside to protect rider. More aero than the Elf due to rounded front perhaps. The "head duck" to enter may require a frame mod at the top perhaps as this would be an issue for taller riders with a helmet. Amlooking forward to following this as I believe head in velo's are more practical having owned a Quest and a Rotovelo. They are great velos in their own right however.

Peter Williamson , thank you from your comments. I have thoughts how to open the roof for longer riders to jump in. Although the driver should jump in without the helmet and put it on after sitting in. The is room for an around 195 cm driver, depending of course of the length of his or her back.

@JaleelJohanson629 жыл бұрын
It's amazing to me that cars can have virtually unlimited power but power assisted bicycles are so severely limited. There's probably a message in all of this... Here in the U.S. we're not as restricted. My Bafang BBS02 mid drive is 750W and I find it to be decent power for the big hills. Put a 750W BBS02 in it with a big 250W sticker on the side and program the speed limit to EU standards. This way you'd at least have real good torque for hill climbing. Us Americans are natural born rule-breakers.. lol Your Arcus velomobile looks great!
