    recently i have watched a video about CVTs and turned out that in high end cars it has fixed top gear to be efficient in terms of fuel economy speed and transmission wear (sounds like a prove that they shoud be moped only transmissions)

    I've got similar opinion. They would work great with some kind of a highway cruiser that doesn't excell in anything other than comfort.

    Nah, don't worry. I will keep my "style". Although once in a while op or more powerful build can be fun. I really do enjoy doing Time Attack builds. I think it would be w nice idea to do reverse thing too. Should I detune the Evo I have built year ago? Wonder how that would come out.

    Have you considered hosting a community challenge where you test viewer cars built to a theme? Like for example 80s hot hatchbacks or 60s roadsters?

    I mean... would be fun, but I don't think I have quite enough people around here to do anything like that. Might need to host a Discord server first. Just to see how many of you would be intersted in such thing. I think I've got general idea on how to do it. Some rules would have to be set etc. I'd aim to let you, the community, decide what topic would be the builds based upon. Completly different story is if anyone would watch it as a video, 'cause it certainly would feel much more natural on live stream. TLDR: A lot to think about :)

    I feel like it is partialy exporter issue. What I mean by that is you can make a good gearing (on paper) in Automation and not always it will be fine in BeamNG. I should try doing my own gearing in Automation instead of fiddling with presets and check how close to truth I am lol. Gearing shorter than suggested by Automation works most of the time in Beam tho.

    @@ZE1WHO1 TBH I have never had any issue with downshifts, only on upshifting and like you have probably noticed synchronizer wants to die on every of my recent designs. One thing is certain, you have got to keep in mind power to weight ratio of your design when setting up the gearing.

    Now build 2jz truck for Eastern block) please make it 12 valve I strongly recommend looking at Russian gazelle trucks cuz they have pretty interesting variants like 4x4 Why u didn't used this v8 in limo build?

    for 40s car urs goes too fast And drift ability of is something it terms of ur 50s build it reminds me of gaz21 poor handling of it is normal but if u wanted limo u should have used a v8 for it As far as i can see u have gone for Soviet styled cars and that is great keep ur 2.3 as one of the distinctive features

    It's too fast because its overpowered. I could restrict the engine to make 30HP tops, but drifting is way more fun. I didn't use anything particular as reference, built them how I felt they should look like and being Pole myself it is only natural they have a lot of eastern influence. But! It is something new, we don't need to have only 'murican influenced builds, we can have some Europe too :)

    ​@@ZE1WHO1 That's mostly because their whole fabrication and manufactory processes come mostly from USA, alongside licences. GAZ in interwar period was basicaly rebranded Ford, they imported both personel (to train locals) and machinery. Even early badges of GAZ looked like a Ford knockoff. Aaaand for Japanese the story is similar, but yes they do bring some of their own uniquiness into whats already familiar.

    We will see. As I said, this will be more of an evolution, so next car will keep some characteristics of previous one. Right now I can say the 50s one will be still RWD.

    partially right partially completly wrong concerning the body and breaks oryginal car had disk breaks in the front and 13 inch rims all around but overall interesting build

    Never intended to copy everything. As the title states, the goal was to get as close as possible to the original engine (I think I used archival tech docs as reference). Other parts were picked with one rule in mind - "yeah, I think it will fit" :)

    The front suspension wouldn't have to be "changed by this madman" to double wishbone. Granted the only options here are solid axle or double wishbone, cars of that era back to the 1950s are all using double control arm suspensions called Short Long Arm, and it's similar to double wishbone, nothing like a solid axle. Double wishbone front suspension would be the most accurate choice for a stock 1960s sedan.

    ​@@Pestkowisko I kinda meant there aren't any NASCAR like bodies in vanilla Automation. Haven't seen any mods like that either. Racing builds are fun, but getting liveries to import into BeamNG is pain. I did one year ago, evo 9 inspired, IMO one of my better creations both in terms of tuning and detail. If I was ever to do build based on this theme, I'd go similar to that one. GT3 or DTM would be far more reasonable.

    @@PanHubert So did I year ago, in short had to do multiple takes, 'cause I either stuttered or my mind was going blank. Back then I resorted to having a "script" (just few pointers really) on 2nd screen, which helped immensely. Thirty-few videos later I am comfortable enough to think and talk at same time. Still seeing some mispronountiations, stuttering, my pacing and voice modulation could use some work too. So there is a lot of room for improvement.

    It defeats whole purpose of CVT. Pretty sure sequential is what you are looking for.

    If possible , you should try creating cvt supercar or hypercar , something similar to Koenigsegg Regera even tho it doesn't have cvt but only 1 forward gear ... outcome might be interesting

    Automation exports in BeamNG do not like high torques, they simply got no grip. There were few updates since I tried it, maybe they have changed sth. Doubt it tho.

    Diesels aren't really a thing in Automation as of today. There were few ways of imitating them on old engine calculations, no idea how is it now.

    If I ever get to playing the campaign... Sandbox would be sooo nice, even for the sole purpose of learning the mechanics. If I had to guess, I'd bet it highly affects comfort and has some importance in terms of fuel consumption (high influence in target groups probably?), ofc basing on my experience in the designer.

    The red stat at 5:20 is the highest hp/tq the engine block can take before it has problems. You were putting 500hp through a block that could only handle 125, which left the finished car with 38% reliability.😆 In campaign, you'd end up with a bunch of recalls and low sales as well as negative brand rep.

    I am aware of that. Gladly it wasn't for campaign and BeamNG does not care about these stats. Have never played Automations campaign mode to be honest, if they ever come up with more sandboxy mode for it...

    I don't know i have been told that cvt are good for fuel efficiency on Powerful engines but i think it is not Firstly the engine is constantly 8k rpm Secondly cvt does not help with moving efficiently (go faster) It is basically a shit box for scooters and let's leave it only to them Awesome car exterior tho

    When you go full throttle it is at high rpm, but when dosing it smart it should stay at "eco" 2k rpm. Haven't thought about checking fuel economy of these thing in BeamNG.

    Cool to see you back! The car looks really hard to drive, with the engine making too much power for the chassis, and the gears are unfittingly short. A bit less power to reduce stress on the internals could provide some room for a higher rev limit. Also, I think the car could profit from a modern automatic transmission.

    Main issue here was the gearing, still experimenting hopefully will get better at it. The torque might have been an issue here too, but that was whole point of this build. I think testing torque vs horsepower builds would be a good idea - all on identical modern, stiff chassis.

    Not really, my current (freeware) editing software likes to crash when dealing with too much footage. Considering quality I am recording in it is not a surprise, vids before upload get up to 10 GigaBytes. PS. Before you ask, PC is decent enough i9 10th gen, rtx 4070 32 GB RAM etc. etc.

    @@f4ll3n_dervisionar made a front wheel drive 250hp sports car recent and was really fun to drive. Did try out the CVT earlier with 1500hp hypercar but dont think it works well tbh, think the CVY heavily depends on the power band of the engine and top speed length.
