  it looks a little ungainly sitting on the ground but the profile of the 104 in flight, I think is the most incredible aircraft design ever made. It looks like a winged dagger. Beautiful.

  Crazy fact I find interesting, first flight of a Messerschmitt 262 “First jet made by Germans” was in April of 1941. 23 years later a plane would be taking off from an air force base in California. In 23 years they went from a mess me 262 to a SR-71 BLACKBIRD. If you don’t think that’s crazy look at how much higher, faster, and longer a blackbird is from a 262. This blows my mind it’s absolutely crazy how fast we went in technology.

  With these machines Im always in a bit of awe in the ability to gain altitude. From ground level to who knows where before I can light up my cigarette. One of those "did you know that humans can do this" type of things.

  I used to think riding a high performance motorcycle was pretty much the pinnacle of awesomeness. And it almost is. But there is simply no comparison to a jet fighter. If by some miracle I manage to ride bitch in one, I can die a happy man.

  I used to live near the glide path used by the national guard nearby. I’ll never forget the sound of the F4’s as they came down the chute to land. No mistaking the Phantom.
