I am still learning to fix my BMW Z3....badly
Now, I am learning the BMW Z4....even worse.
Since I have figured out the basics of the BMW line, I have started working on the Porsche line with the Boxster. Please help me via comments on how to fix better.
Got my hands on an Audi TT. Can’t help but see what this experience is like for Audi mechanics.
God helps us all, I bought a dirt cheap Porsche 914 rolling chassis. Lots to do...even body work and structural.
Working on EV conversion.
My dream has come true. I now have a Porsche 911 996 in my collection. Unlike other playlist, I will take you all with me. Your opinions may help shape what this 911 can become.
Got my wife a Tesla Model Y. I don't think I will do much repairs as it is brand new. However, I will try to learn a lot on EV and accessories and share back.

Are you seriously suggesting this is the only way to fit this original wind deflector? To butcher the car's trim? That can't be right.
thanks brother
DUDE! I have the Omega Seamaster also, but mine is the 007 edition ;) Great video. Thanks!
Juste horrible de mettre le logo 2023 sur une e36
Did you have the part number for the sensor ??
The rear wiper was a no cost option on the 996s some chose to get it some didn’t I personally like the no wiper look ended up deleting mine. Never really take it out when it rains so kinda had no function for me either
Good to know. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Sony, I purchased recently a 1999 Porche Boxster and it cranks and almost starts but then doesn’t start and I don’t know what the issue could be. It never started before so I am not sure what the issue is. I was thinking it was the crankshaft sensor that I need to replace but when I checked the check engine it came out to the code P0341 which is the camshaft sensor. I am not sure what I should do and change. Let me know. Thanks!
I would recommend replacing both. They are inexpensive and will help eliminate some problems. Then continue to check to see what else is the culprit. While it seems stressful, think of it as a problem to solve. Once done, you have the rights to say “you brought a Porsche back to life”. That is a great honor. Do share what you find.
That blue car in the background looks more impressive
Every I try to post is impressive. I enjoy showcasing everyone’s car as they (including myself). Have made efforts to upgrade. Now I too live one car vs another. Still I love showing cars “honorable mentions”. Thanks for watching.
I also saw a video where they used a jack I believe on the driver side to shift the engine just enough removing a motor mount that it could be wiggled out. I feel like I turn one job into ten so I'll just do radiator today, that better not mean I'll never replace water pump... god only knows how bad a 2024 will be `-;
Do what you can and what makes sense. When you are ready to do water pump and thermostat, it really isn’t that bad. If I can do it, anyone can.
Thanx! Good short video! Everything i have to know!
Same haha
I have one of these and it does make a noticeable difference to throttle response, which is all it does. It does not add power or torque and makes no claim to. As the car is fitted with an electronic throttle, Porsche can control the speed at which the throttle opens and slow it down in order to meet emissions standards, which is what they did. This device (which is a bit of a pain to install) allows the throttle to open much much more quickly and so acceleration is noticeably better than stock. All well and good, but I have deactivated it for a while as I feel it may be responsible for the throttle fluctuating at idle making the car more prone to stalling. Work in progress, but once I remove it altogether I will know if it is the culprit. If it is not, despite the pain of putting it back on, I would do so in a heartbeat as it really wakes the car up.
Where can i get the paddle shifter kit?
If you check “work bell”. You will find resellers. Even found on eBay. Sadly, they are much higher price than most. Well worth it, though.
Thanks......nice and simple.....alright? 😁
Hi . Can these lug locks be removed with the LT400-25 ??? Lock removal tool
Heyo! It's almost triggering, watching your videos, as I've been having a bear of an issue with my z3 overheating for the last 3 months. I think the last couple I watched might have helped me a lot though. ANYWAY, I'm here to say that, I too, wondered why the front aux fan doesn't turn on when the temp reaches a certain point, and I was given the answer. It's not supposed to. The front AUX fan only turns on when the AC is turned on. That's it. The aux fan is not needed in our car to keep the engine at a normal temperature. Aight, back to trying to fix MY problem.
Do you happen to have a video of how to remove that large intake tube that goes over top of the rad? I can't figure out how to remove it without breaking it
T27 on mine. 1997. Thank you!
Where'd you get this one I want one too!
Came with the car. Don’t see too many folks having this.
This is the far best vifeo to remove the blower motor
Hey! Did you ever find out what was causing the battery draw? I have a 2001 z3 with the same issue. Went through all of the same diagnostics and can't find what's using the electricity, but it's dying after 20 hours.
Phone charger!!!! Simple fix but was not expecting this. Fear the worse. Your situation may differ.
@@Simplenetwks thank you!! I fear it's the wiring harness
Ccn you tell me how and what did you splice? Did you do a mid splice to connect blue/black together ? Not sure what to spice as there still needs a connection to the car side. Thanks
This connector has two cable. Just tie them together. Tells the car you don’t have an issue (ie tray is in place). Stop the car from checking and just allow soft top to come down.
@@Simplenetwks Thanks so you mean to strip each wire a little at mid point to connect them? This won't short or trip a fuse?
@@v.m.7228 no it will not short out. When the tray is down in the trunk, it connects the circuit. Sometimes the connector in my hand fails. So car does not realize that the circuit is complete. So you are forcing it.
@@Simplenetwks Thanks so I will spice each wire mid point and connect them together (not sure how yet), then clip to the car connection.
Very good and easy explanation🫡
4 post is the best really
Just watched your video Sonny. The only thing that matters is you’re happy with your 986. Too many people love to spoil people’s enjoyment. I have 2 x 986 and they are striped up to my own design but inspired by SINGER. They are real head turners and I love them. Magnus Walker says something on the lines of “ A PORSCHE is a blank canvas for the owner to create his own vision “ something like that anyway. I say to create your own masterpiece 😂. I don’t like anything original, I believe in putting your own stamp on everything you own especially your car. Why drive a car that looks like everyone else’s ? Your car is a project and your hobby. Keep it going and make your masterpiece. I bought a 40 year old 924 last year and I love it. I’m currently updating certain parts of it. I started work in the crash repair industry in 1984 as an apprentice panel beater, my 924 came off the production line the year before. I actually repaired a few 924s in the late 80s so this new car to my collection has more of a historical and sentimental meaning. It still smells inside like it did when it was new. That smell takes me back to a simpler time. Anyway sorry to ramble on. PORSCHE there is no substitute. Magnus says PORSCHE is his drug of choice, it’s mine too. Richard
I wish I knew this before limping my Z3 to the shop - where they told me I need a new engine (was taking it in for a clutch repair, it had JUST started overheating on me).
Yeah. I wish I knew things I know now. Always willing to share. Hope you can avoid any future pain. Cheers.
Does this also go for the Coupés?
Good question. I would think so. However never worked in the clown shoe. Please share if you know.
What is this part name?? Or part number??
Nice boxster!
I like the yellow boxster behind it. Every other vehicle in that parking lot was a boring drab color. The boxster just stands out
Reverse the phone and place it , it will charge .
Too dark. Can’t see how to get at the top mount
Porbably the only video out in the Tube with this very informative content. Thank you!!
If you haven’t done full research on these then I wouldn’t
Fair enough. My thoughts are…as long as the batteries and motor are good, I can fix the rest. Looks like only front end damage. Replacement of bumper, pass quarter panel, and pass head light. I should have this running. Making a deal with the seller to have it dropped off and battery tested. Wish me luck.
@@Simplenetwks yeah idk much about this but the x was horrible from what I have seen but mostly to do with the battery
@@thedayhayfilms don’t know much about x but the s is rock solid. If battery problem, car would look perfect. Not often a car in an accident would also have battery problem. But who knows. For the price, I am willing to play. If I can make 100 vids from it, I call that a gain. At least I will learn a lot more than I know now.
@@Simplenetwks All salvage teslas are also banned from the supercharging network
I have a badge that says 2.2 but it’s a 2.5?
I guess anyone can put a badge of any number. If only we can put a higher number badge and it drives faster. Cheers.
@@Simplenetwks I think it is a 2.2 they did it between 03-05 only 170 sadly :(
@@howy5799 oh good to know. Thanks for sharing.
I think they are ugly and are crap
.
Looks a lot better than the stock stuff
Just subsribed because of this car!
That Tudor is a gorgeous timepiece, but I also dig the bracelet that looks like a bezel! Where'd you find that, if I may ask?
Bracelet is a speedometer. It comes in many Rolex colors. Adds a little style to your wrist.
Fake 😂
Ha ha ha. Funny.
Looks you got less than a 1/8.
I'm replacing the coolant temp sensor right now due to a flashing red light causing a check engine light and a coolant message popping up on the gauges. Code is P3081-coolant temp sensor. I thought it would be difficult due to the tight confines of the engine being located in the and all. Not to mention I was beginning to think I need to either get the vehicle on a lift or jack it up to get under it (pain in the A**) and to my suprise...Neither. i didn't need to jack it up or lift it, I could change the sensor just how it sits. It's very easy to locate and replace. Located behind the front seats is a carpet wall, and under the carpet is a aluminum heatshield cover that separates you from the engine, and its held in place by a few 10mm bolts. When you remove that engine cover (not to be confused with the cover in the trunk that faces upwards either) you will see the drive belt and pulleys and now access to the front of the engine and the coolant temp sensor is located (using a imaginary clock face) about at the 4 or 5 o'clock area kinda in the lower right hand side (facing the front of the engine while looking at it). Very easy to replace, and when you do, do it FAST unless you want all your engine coolant making a mess and everywhere except in your engine where it belongs. Top off the coolant afterwards, clear codes and test drive vehicle and keep an eye on the coolant temp. If it goes past half make sure to run the heater when you test drive to circulate the coolant and if you don't have hot air blowing and your coolant temp is at the halfway point on the gauge then that means there is a decent size air pocket in your cooling system and it needs to be properly Bled. Sounds a little dramatic but doing this can prevent the possibility of blowing a head gasket just fyi.
The red light was flashing indicating something is needing attention regarding your cooling system. It could be flashing for a number of reasons like a faulty sensor, low coolant level, or -your engine running too hot. In your case I would assume your red flashing light was on because low coolant level and due to the low coolant, it was making your engine run hotter than normal. That was the reason (from what you described) your temperature Guage was reading high, thus triggering a red flashing light aswell. It Explains why your vehicle gulped up the additional gallons of coolant......it probably had none or very little coolant to begin with.
Youre a casual bc you dont know the model
You are right. I don’t know the details yet. I hope one day I will know more. Then I can share my knowledge with you all. I may start a series to have the owners tell us stuff that only owners would know.
@@Simplenetwks hopefully cool find tho
Idiot
Shame you skipped showing how to fit the new trim. No instructions and a spare bit I have no idea what to do with
Yeah made this vid a long time ago. Shave down any part that doesn’t fit. Should not be much. I tend not to show those parts.
Would be perfect on a mustang
Do you know the torque to apply to the plastic nuts
🤷🏼
