Can I add 1" spacers on top of a 2.5" suspension lift on a 2005 Sequoia? Just wanting to get a little extra lift on a truck that will never see off road
toyota ♥
Nice setup
That drawer system is nice man
Thanks man!
Still good?
I sold the vehicle to a guy who took it on a 4-5 month adventure and it was still doing great!
What does it cost to park and enter that trail?
$5 to enter the entire state park that has over 20+ miles of trails
Excellent vid. I have a 2002 Ltd Sequoia thats got 200K. Gloss black Repaint, copper powder coat on stock OEM rims, new shocks/struts, alternator, timing belt, water pump, radiator, fan pulley, thermostat, powerstop z36 front and rear, sending unit for gas gauge thats faulty, speakers + Pioneer receiver, lower ball joints, underseal frame, basket roof rack, setpower fridge freezer. Done for a12k trip across country this summer. As for the back…seats will be removed and i will construct a single bed behind the passenger side seat out of 2x3 and plywood with two main storage areas underneath. A narrow 12-15 inch isle space to be able to sit on bed. With a similar, but shorter construction for a galley area behind the driver side seat. This will hold fridge, two burner cooker, water containers and plastic bowl for dishes. Entertainment….small area set aside for dvd player, some decent literature and whisky. I had used this set up in a chevy Silverado with a high rise topper before. The improvement here, obviously, is that I dont have to get out of the vehicle to access the camper living area…a huge plus for a number of reasons. With the complete new paint job and a few dent removal jobs+ all parts listed above and labour i am into around 10-11 k$ currently. I can sleep in this for days on end..no problem saving 100$ a night over motels so it does make overlanding affordable simply shelling out for gas. I am doing this at nearly 70 years of age no problemo…so if an old crock like me can make it work then anyone can!
I want to get a Sequoia and this is what I want it to look like. Maybe get a steel rear bumper. Sweet rig bro!
Damn... Wish you would've shown wiring...
Got the same winch and have to rotate it 180 degrees for my installation (upside down). Thanks for the video!
Where did you end up putting your controller box? I am doing this job right now and can't find a location
I strapped it to the side of my battery. it was the only spot it would fit
Cool
That’s a nice build, I want you to see your full gear video
Great job 👏
Love the content and that build. Best bang for the buck and definitely looks stunning. I’m still on a debate whether to keep my 03 forester or start a build on this gen sequoia or the one after that. Thank man u definitely earned another subscriber
Beautiful finished product mate, Well done!❤
Cool video! Just subbed to the channel! 🤙
You mentioned Bilstein adjustable 2.5 shocks... are they 6112s? If so which notch are they set on and how much of a lift (roughly, I know you bought it this way) does that provide from stock height? Was there an adjustment you needed to make after adding the weight of the coastal bumper? Im considerinf the same one for my truck. Thanks for as much info you can give me, I'm trying to research for my 02 tundra 2wd AC. Thanks man, awesome Sequoia!
Wished you made a video on how you built the storage in the back
Would be awesome if you do a video on basic gear to have.
Thats the exact idea i had for the roof of our sequoia, a skinny rack on one side and a long skinny cargo box on the other, looks like it works great.
It really works well. I found myself not using a ton of the stuff I brought in the box though so keep that in mind when packing
Hey does this effect the rear end height adjustment thing?
I don’t know what you mean by this. If you are referring to the adjustable height ride that the 2nd Gen has, the first gen does not have that. So this particular lift is going to raise the whole vehicle
Great series. I am catching up on your videos. Well done. Great trip. Oh and War Eagle! Crow
Thanks! War Eagle!
Awesome place! I have been there a couple of times. Such an amazing iconic rock feature in Alabama. New follower here. Crow
Very cool place to hike
Do you guys have an Instagram. Love your videos would love to follow more of your stuff.
Yes! Chasingadvcouple on instagram!
Don't stop making these videos. You're getting so much better at it
Thank you so much!
I'm curious what kind of gas mileage you get with all of these mods. I have a stock sequoia and it gets about 14 in the city
On one of my trips I saw 15mpg on the highway but pretty much 11-13 non stop
I just bought one of these things for 1000 bucks off my neighbor with 150k miles can’t wait
Nice adventure! What kind of mileage have you been averaging in your Sequoia? Was considering sliders but I dropped to around 13 MPG with the Coastal Offroad bumper and 33’s😢
That is exactly what I get!
I just spent 43,000 on my 05 Sequoia limited. Total chaos. Long travel king 2.5 shocks nitto ridge grapplers on method wheels eaton lockers front and back 4.88 gears Front and rear coastal off road metal bumpers. Coastal offroad rock sliders. Fiber glass flared front fenders for high clearance. There's too much to list on what i've done to it. I will do a walk around video on it and post it on KZread. The fenders are still white. After all that money I still have to Get painted lol.about 13,000 was in labor. So there's about. 30.000 in parts. I didn't put any part on there that was not the best in the industry. I kind of screwed up when I told the sales guide just build it. The way you would if it was your🤦 I wasn't wanting to go over 25k But it was just becoming too bad-ass not to do it. That's the first time i've done anything that crazy only paid 6700 for the vehicle. I should get it back today or tomorrow. It's been there since the 4th of April. I'm about to pull my hair out I wont it back so bad
That sure is one helluva build!
If anyone is going to build this bumper make sure before you build it and put it on that your a wench that you're going to use will fit I got the superwench And it didn't fit the handle. You have to pull to release the tension on your. Cable. Will be closed off and you can't get to it. And it is so tight. You can barely squeeze it in there. I had to get another wench.Warn wench fit but Still have to Finagil your hand to get to the handle..
I got the exact same bumper And the rear one with swing out for a spare tire. But I had a shop do a 43,000 Build on My 05 Sequoia limited. 3 and 3/4 inch lift. Total chaos long travel kit. King 2.5 coil lovers and rear shocks. Nito ridge grappler 35x12.5x17 Wrapped around Method wheels with beadlock technology. Eaton lockers Front and rear. 4,88 gears. New fiberglass flared front fingers for high clearance. Also from coastal off road rock sliders. And there's a whole bunch of other stuff I can't list I don't have enough room. Thank God I didn't have to Weld that damn thing together lol. Probably would have saved myself a ton of money though.
Y'all will remember this trip forever! I have a 1st gen Sequoia as well, they are great adventure rigs. Look forward to more videos!
So jealous of you west coasters!!
Man love the rig! This KS knew of the cleanest looking ones I've seen. I'm in the market for one myself. I have some luck for finding GOLD vehicles lol. Love the rig good video!
hey man! just bought the coastal bumper for my sequoia because of your vids! how did you wire the 4 pod lights?
Awesome! I wired them into the fog light switch. Unplugged the fog lights and then Spliced in the pods and the wrapped it with some heat shrink protection
The light bar and other pods are wired directly to the battery and have a fuse box that came with it from advance auto. Switch is on the dash
Very nice. When in September? Can't wait to watch the series!
Very cool thanks for sharing!!!
2003 limited 360k already water pump and timing belt done ready for another 90k love my beast
awesome. I just rolled over 300k a couple weeks ago
do you recommend any places to stay in Utah? we were planning on sleeping in the truck just like you but we don't know any recommended places to do that
tons of places. Virgin, UT in Springdale has this little offroad spot that has camp sites and stuff all around it. once you start goggling, there will be a lot of places. I also recommend freecampsites.net
Hi…thanks for taking the time to make this. Great job on the platform…how did you make the edges mold so neatly with the interior of the vehicle? Also…on your 10k trip….could you please share what your average MPG was? I am certain it wasn’t great…but I am hopeful it was considerably better than an 80 series would get? Thank s again…
I used cardboard for a template to trace on the plywood. I averaged about 12 on the total trip!
He's a handsome guy.
Love the intro, so peaceful and makes me want to get back out there!
Cannot wait to do another trip!
Hello, thanks for the great video. Did you have to change the angle to square on the factory brackets in the beginning of your video? Or did you leave the factory angle?
Left the factory angle!
Thanks!
Liking this already…tracing our 2022 steps we took in our Gen 1 Sequoia. Gotta love Durango, Ouray and Silverton.
A beautiful area of the US
Looks like a good time. How’s that OME lift doing? Happy w/ it still?
I actually have bilsteins on mine. We put an OME on my dads old one that we have sold but we loved it and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again!
Great video. I definitely will be watching it again when I get a winch!
Looks like you’re having a blast. Enjoy life!
You had me at Gen 1 Sequoia! Took my 2007 out from Tennessee through Wyoming and Colorado last summer. 4,500 miles. Excited about this.
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching!!
What are we fab rat! Love it 🎉
