Look up why OU is who they are now and it’s quite literally because OSU declined the offer. It’s actually a pretty interesting bit of history and trivia; in 1945 OSU won every major national title (and was undefeated in football), they were approached by quite a bit of wealth but (very stupidly, hindsight yada yada) declined. OU was second on the list and was more than happy to take in a bunch of money to improve the program, just look at the years before 1945 then after. Had OSU not declined they would probably be one of the biggest football programs of all time while OU would be mediocre. So basically, complete opposites.

THIS is the game that turned OSU into the program it is. Old Lewis (Rustoleum) Field. I was there. 13 years old. I was in awe of seeing the Nebraska Cornhuskers come onto the field. (prior to season they were in the National Championship) and I remember watching the OU / Nebraska game the year before that, OU winning the title. It was so cold and rainy. Everyone was wearing trash bags. Still have my ticket stub.

As a former NCAA wrestling champion, I feel it's necessary to bring attention to a disturbing incident that occurred during the recent match between David Taylor and Aaron Brooks at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Trials. I watched the match and witnessed Brooks engage in an "oil check" maneuver, where he inserted his fingers into Taylor's buttocks. This move is not only disgusting but also an egregious violation of sportsmanship and ethics in wrestling. For those unfamiliar with the mechanics of this move, it's important to understand how it affects the opponent. Similar to the technique used to break a pit bull's grip during an attack, inserting an object into the anus can cause a person to lose their power and core stability. This area of the body is incredibly sensitive, and the shock and discomfort can disrupt an athlete's concentration, balance, and physical control. It can significantly impair their ability to perform, giving the perpetrator an unfair advantage. In wrestling, where control, balance, and mental focus are crucial, such a violation is particularly egregious. It undermines the integrity of the match and disrespects the opponent. The move can lead to a loss of physical power, much like the analogy with the pit bull, where inserting a finger into the dog's rectum often causes it to release its grip due to the sudden shock and loss of muscle control. What makes this situation even more hypocritical is Aaron Brooks' public declarations of giving glory to God for his victory. While faith and gratitude are personal and often positive expressions, it is deeply offensive to invoke divine praise while engaging in such unethical behavior. This hypocrisy not only tarnishes Brooks' reputation but also casts a shadow over the sport and the values it is supposed to uphold. Given these serious concerns, I believe the following actions should be taken: 1. **Immediate Investigation**: There needs to be a thorough and unbiased investigation into this incident to determine the facts and ensure accountability. 2. **Clear Rules and Penalties**: Wrestling authorities should reinforce the rules against such unsportsmanlike behaviors and establish clear penalties for violations. 3. **Education and Training**: Athletes should be educated on maintaining ethical conduct and the severe consequences of actions like the "oil check." 4. **Public Accountability**: Those who wish to express their faith publicly should be held to a high standard of conduct that reflects the values they proclaim. The sport of wrestling values strength, skill, and honor. Incidents like this degrade the sport and the athletes who participate in it. It's essential that we address these issues to preserve the integrity and respect of wrestling. I urge the wrestling community and relevant authorities to take this matter seriously and ensure that appropriate measures are taken. Thank you for considering these points.

How on earth did Dave Smith lose Natalie Cook?? I remembered watching an indoor at the Dempsey last year when Cook was running the 3k. She dropped out and didn't do anything until NCAA indoors. She finished last in the 5k and after the race, you could see her limping. Shortly after that, she entered the portal and eventually ended up at Colorado. I haven't heard anything about her for XC, indoors or outdoors since she transferred.

The disloyalty shown by OkSt. to Coleman Scott is disgusting. The greediness of Taylor going after a job that should have been Coleman’s is also disgusting. Typical of our times, loyalty means nothing and it’s all about money. I hope Taylor fails miserably. Boo OkSt. Badly done.

Pyles reported on FRL that he knows for a fact another person was offered the Associate Head Coach job last year that Coleman ultimately took and that the other person was told directly by OK State that the person who took the Assoc. HC job would not be guaranteed the head coaching job when Smith retired and it would be an open search for a replacement. Coleman knew this was a possibility when he took the job

“Greediness of Taylor,” what? Listen, I here you, I feel for Coleman as well but you can’t blame David Taylor for taking the opportunity of a lifetime here. DT is a much wanted commodity, OK State made their move and DT seized the opportunity, this is life. Unfortunately there are always going to be winners and losers in any competitive situation. Coleman Scott is no loser though and he will be fine. Shown himself to be a fighter and a class act. There will always be room in a program for the likes of a Coleman Scott and I believe he will not only bounce back from this but will come back even stronger. He’s got a ton of ammunition now to show OK State what a mistake they made and who knows, could even wind up coaching in the Big Twelve against these guys. Wouldn’t that be wild

Bo Nickal and Aaron Brooks both hate Taylor. Bo has hated him since at least the year DT had the knee injury and Bo went to 92kg without knowing DT wouldn't be wrestling that year. Brooks today on Baschamania podcast basically accused Taylor of leaking the adderall story.
