    What about the rear hidden battery! What is it for!

    Here are the functions of all batteries in each model of Explorer: - The under-hood 12V battery is the normal start/run battery - The 450V Hybrid battery lives under the R middle passenger seat to power the hybrid motor - Rear mini 12V battery in the rear storage area on the left side under the cupholder/storage bin is, per the dealer, a float battery to keep accessory power at 12V even when the engine is being started so it runs in parallel.

    The Explorer ST hasn't been out for 9yrs so you must be referring to a different vehicle. The ST has alot of in car entertainment and I've seen quite a few ST owners on the forums say that within 4yrs their OEM battery was toast. I know this was the case with our 2013 explorer sport too. My fusion sport's OEM battery made it 7yrs and that was impressive. But I haven't seen a battery last 9yrs in a long time.

    I just finished replacing leafs and shocks, had to cut front bolts off of both sides because of the gas tank and the exhaust. I bought an arsenal of metal cutting blades to see what worked best, let me say if you have an oscillating saw the DREMEL CARBIDE TIP multi-tool blades for metal definitely worked the fastest and the safest. $33 for 3 at Lowes

    Super helpful tips! Mine went to the dealer to fix the seat heater, came back with the trim hanging off, and tabs broken off so wouldnt go back on. Ordered a new trim piece, thought it would be a cinch, now I see why the techs left it off! This thing is a PITA to put back on, must have wasted a good hour or two myself. Aligning all the tabs correctly is like a miracle, but finally got it on after watching your vid and a lot of swearing.

    How's the corrosion on those replacement bolts?

  • @AOT-offroad
    @AOT-offroad8 ай бұрын

    I used class 8.8 bolts for structural equipment. This is not a grade 5 or lower made for woodworking. This is a high strength bolt that is used for structural applications. The material has good strength corrosion resistance and good wear and tear resistance properties. The standard specification for these bolts is the ASTM A324.
