How these tropical storms become destructive?
@michaelpjeffries15218 күн бұрын
No. There were no estimates even attempted. By federal provincial or municipal governments. I skated on a pond in 60's which did not exist before, is story I've been told. Not even sure how many homes and people vanished. My family was Mississauga/ Oakville town line.

I remember vividly what happened on that dreadful day back 1883. I had just turned 25 and I remember how hot and muggy it was. I'll never forget the sound of the tornado as it ripped through downtown Rochester. It wiped out my entire herd of cattle and killed four of my horses. The tornado spared my house, though...Thank God.

The Tristate tornado was almost certainly just one tornado and not "multiple ones" as some think. History has shown that multiple EF-5 equivalent tornadoes don't just travel in the same narrow path, let alone back to back.

Good video on the Blackwell-udall tornadoes 🌪️ of may 25, 1955-given on the weather channel-the details of the disaster are well documented-both tornadoes 🌪️ were rated f5 -the Blackwell twister is overshadowed by the udall tornado 🌪️ because it destroyed most of the town and 80 people were killed in that night! Good effort! 😊😊😊😊😊

I wasn’t alive when Archbold stadium existed. But I like the nice entrance which was displayed on the movie The Express. I’m glad to see actual footage of it on this video.

I was 11 yrs old and playing outside in a light rain suddenly the sky turned dark green and It stopped raining and you could hear a roaring sound like a freight train. The amount of lightning was crazy. Debris was flying through the air and the sirens were going off. My mother told us get inside and go to the basement. Our house was in a valley and the tornado passed right over the top of our house.

A town near us was decimated by these tornadoes. One was heading for the small town we lived in, but changed course right outside of town.

We were hit that day by a EF4, when we came out everything was gone. Trees, houses, everything. The only thing left was five houses, three in a row and the two behind them. I was in the middle house of the three. It looked as the whole place was bombed. Street after street gone.

This is an often forgotten tornado outbreak. When people think of a tornado from the 1920's they think of the tri state tornado of 1925. They dont often think of the 1920/03/28 tornado outbreak.

I remember it well.. We had gone out that Friday evening (driving a VW bug). When we got home we were able to just barely pull the car into the driveway off the street. The next morning there were so many drifts that the car was literally invisible.
