Well done.Great memories. The gigs were brilliant. Most venues now gone. Special mentions for.. Bush -Sixteen Stone. Not the Britpop sound ,but what an album. Stanley Road - Paul Weller. The best.. 60ft Dolls - The Big Three. Not a major seller though These Animal Men - Taxi For These Animal Men. Kicks It. Xtra special mention goes to American Band 👀 ,,Green Day - Dookie. For bringing that sound that had been lost since late 70s - Early 80s. All good stuff. All the best mate. From North London.
Thanks Maurice - glad you enjoyed 🤩 amazing how much great stuff was around during the 90’s - a golden era 🫡
Great look back at a great time in music. Some I wish I had on vinyø, some I wish I had over all. Teenage Fanclub is probably the band I’m well under way sort of to get on vinyl as well. God I loved music that week I got Blur AND Pulp. I made it a thing if people asked me if I preffered Blur or Oasis to always answer Pulp and remind people the Charlatans were GREAT! 😄
@@MortenAastad - thanks for commenting Morten - glad you enjoyed and shared your memories- I’ve been playing these all day and the Elastica album has really stood the test of time - and yes Pulp were brilliant and the charlatans are one of the UK’s best too 🫡
@@gavaxemanspins I bought the first Charlatans album at the moment it came out and have been om board ever since. I may have been hungry for summat «Stone Roses» like, can’t remember, I never knew of anyone who liked them like I did round these parts. Someone muttered to me they were Stone Roses rip offs and I don’t think I spoke about music with that person again. My favorite album is their second, Between 10th and 11th. Which I’m listening to as I write this.
@@gavaxemanspins And of course Ash, and Shed Seven and my dear Cool Cymru Super Furry Animals! Man don’t give a sodd in deed! 🏴🏴🏴
That’s a really underrated album - wish they would reissue the 3rd album as it’s mega hard to find at a good price- enjoy !
Everything Must Go was a miracle wasn’t it? Wow… Hits me right in the old ticker that one. Well, you know this, you’ve seen my Welsh tinged videos.

I wonder how many people have the first Curved Air album from the 70s with its art nouveau patterned vinyl? It was amazing, and I've not seen anything like it since.

Splendid finds and aquired records there I must say.
Thanks Morten 🫡
Nicely done, some great stuff. Great choice on Psychotron. Have been using online for years and used to buy off Pete the owner before he had the shop at the London fairs. Always a top selection. Good luck with August and the lack of purchases! It's tough isn't it ;-)

Hi Gav, For some reason my posts aren’t loading up on here under my Vinyl Sanctuary account, so using my own personal profile instead, in the hope you will see this 🤞🏻 I just wanted to say thank you so much for the shoutout for my channel. Your support is hugely appreciated and means a great deal 🙏 Wishing you all the best with the competition and I’ve just finished watching your July vinyl finds, which was excellent 👏 Best wishes, Christian
Thanks. Christian - no worries - liking the new look graphics on your channel too
@@gavaxemanspins Ah, I’m so pleased this post worked! I didn’t think this one had uploaded either, so great news that it did 😊 Thank you for getting back to me and I also really appreciate your very kind comment about the graphics I have uploaded on my channel vids 🙏 Have a great week and best wishes, Christian
Hey Gav, looks like it was a costly month. Songs of Leonard Cohen for 2 quid though… what a bargain for an absolute masterpiece 👌 The James orchestral record sounds cool and looks amazing… kinda reminded me of Bagpus! I’m keen to get Stutter and Goldmother… stupidly sold them back in the day. I’ve got that TRex comp too 👌 Looking forward to your Britpop vid. cheers, Jack
Thanks Jack - thrifty august required! Wise move on the record shop - over priced I I agree ☝️

Hi Gav, great vid - and thank you of course for the shout out! Subbed and will be binge watching/box setting earlier vids in due course 🙂 Really excellent selection here. Ending on a complete bargain - £20 for a box set from HMV? What a find. I'm in total agreement on Sabotage by Black Sabbath, actually very overlooked but by far their heaviest. Ozzy screams through most of the record, one of their absolute best.

Very good entry Gav 😊 That movie I must find (not the first one, apart from the music, the actors in it are just dreadful!) Hey, we both, for different reasons, showed the Swing! Oh and Anni-Frid Lyngstad is Norwegian and hasn’t lived here since 1947. Spledid effort! Cheers.

Hi Gav. I never knew Robert Plant has Norwegian ancestry. Great choice of album from 1971. Good luck in the contest. Cheers Mike
@@mikevinylspiral yes Mike it is a little overlooked fact ! Honest 👀
Thank you for entering my contest and the kind worlds Gav. I loved the Faces record, very Poirot, art deco in deed (I’m a big fan of advertisement posters from that age). But Robert Plant? I can’t find any references to him having any Norwegian heritage? I mean, most British people up North and in Scotland, north Wales and lands north of Liverpool probably scores high on Norse (Norwegian) DNA. Danish DNA being indistinguishable From Anglo-Saxon DNA according to the amazing BBC series Blood of the Vikings, but that’s going back a bit far perhaps. Still, you are in, thank you for the great video and best of luck! Now, like my norse ancestors, I’m going to watch what those frenchies are up to on the Seine 😄
@@MortenAastad - I’m taking those immigrant songs lyrics as an admission of his ancestry! Glad you enjoyed- and I’m currently watching the Olympic parade and kinda wishing I wasn’t ! Stay well

Excellent video Gav! I’ve got the 1st press mono white album and clear vinyl Bowie Blackstar. My Blackstar story is similar to yours. Interesting that artist website buys are probably the best way.
