    While a really nice saber I feel what solos hold should do instead of the emitter flanges and all that they should do a solid emitter with a 7/8” hole. And I would like see more Luke V2 makes do more static like Dave P. Even Mark Hamil himself said it felt heavy to him the real prop

  • @scottjua
    @scottjua14 күн бұрын

    It's actually accurate the way it's made. I've held the real one in my hands at the time next to Starkiller and solos hold v1, which informed all the revisions for V2 (current). Some of the measurements I supplied didn't translate to production which I mentioned. They're about the same weight actually. Mark Hamil had no frame of reference at the time. The real one is hollow inside as well.

    I think I was lucky enough to get my hands on a legitimate one that either never had the 9 branded onto the handle OR the grips were replaced at some point. (The numbers are matched on the inside of the grip panels but I’m suspicious that the grips are not original). It is stamped 1920 but the serial number suggests that it is from the Prussian order of “red nines”. I’ve got a feeling that the grips were replaced when it went into German police inventory shortly after WW1. In addition to the 1920 stamp there are markings on it that suggest it became part of a military/police inventory.

  • @scottjua
    @scottjua17 күн бұрын

    They very well could be original to the gun. There are many documented red 9 with standard grips.

  • @johnnydoe7846
    @johnnydoe784617 күн бұрын

    @@scottjua yeah true. One of the things making me suspicious is the fact that all six digits are stamped into the back side of each grip panel and I think the norm was usually just the last three or four digits? Also the top and bottom of each grip panel has the customary horizontal lines but the middle section (where they would have put a 9) is smooth without any grooves. I suppose the Germans might have sanded off the “9” then stamped on the 1920 and said good enough lol 😏

    You can get the parts for the ebony block maestro at Crazy parts: www.crazyparts.de/tremolos--vibrolas/vibrolas-aged/short-vibrola-tail-blocks/ Looks like right now they're out of Ebony... but have rosewoods, and you can inquire about the ebony availability. Went into the local music store thinking I probably wasn't going to get it. 1. Love that is light weight vs. the heavy 80s? Gibson V 2. Also didn't have any issue standing or sitting and playing because it is lighter. 3. The sound is wow. 4 Quality, no issues with mine. Don't have 10k but if I did, I'd have issues playing the 80s one as I did so I'm loving this one. Extra $ to cover a bigger amp 🙂
