I have started restoring my kick winder. Now I have ran into a problem with it. It will not lock the handle to keep the tension.

Do you mean the “chuck” will not tighten down on the handle?

Buddy of mine hit a big buck same exact spot a few years ago did the same thing…clipped top of heart no blood trail but died within 50 yds

They are incredibly tough animals. He only went 70 yards but lived for over 1.5 hours at least. Hope you enjoyed it.

@@dgorman13 after skinning the deer I determined it wasn’t safe to eat. The temps were to warm. That was very disappointing to me. We consume a lot of venison.

Nice review. I bought a pair of the Insect Shield SolAir Lightweight pants this year and put them through the ringer during turkey season and so far, they have help up extremely well. I’m more amazed at how cool they are in hot weather. No doubt the best hot weather hunting pants ive ever owned and will be getting another pair soon.

Great shot, and an awesome buck. Based on how stiff he appears, he was dead for awhile. Congrats on a super buck-good job filming as well. I just use a Tactacam, and forget to turn it on half the time. I don't know what county you are in, but up here in LaSalle Co we have one week of the season left, and I hope to fill one more tag with a nice buck during our CWD weekend.

Thanks Jacob. Let’s say it was farther than would’ve liked. He was 49/50 yards which was my limit. I aimed low expecting string jump. I though that if he ducked it would be perfect and if he didn’t it would be a clean miss. He ducked at the last 20 feet..

What's score have to do with it? That's a nice buck and I doubt it matters to the hunter. Everyone gets wrapped up in "what's it score" like it has to meet some mythical number. More often than not people start making excuses for shooting a deer when it doesn't "measure up" and it shouldn't be that way.

Hey Andrew, yes it is a z7 Matthews. The buck was 49/50 yards which was my limit. I’ve never worried to much about scores but several folks asked so I retrieved him from the taxidermist and tried to do it myself. I came up with 167” no idea if that’s right but oh well, if I’m shakin I’m shootin….I was definitely shakin. Haha.. but I put several lbs. of meat in the freezer though😁. Thanks for the kind words.
