I miss the days when artists would have banks (lol) of synths and keyboards, and would play them live, it’s such a shame that there’s such an obsession with recreating a studio recording nowadays, I’d rather hear a jam version of a track over a highly polished performance any day!

Can someone tell me how Phil blows the roof off this song with his screaming and still has a voice left? I’ve heard him say numerous times that he never practices singing- that Genesis rehearsals were his practice. How did he do that? When they opened their Invisible Touch tour with Mama, I couldn’t believe it. That’s a hard song to sing when the voice is cold. People do not appreciate Phil’s talent. The man is super human.

Zeppelin, The Stones, Beatles, Floyd, ELP, never did anything close to this. YES had their moments snd were also great…the difference with them all was Tony Banks. Just sayin. It’s a personal thing.

Tony’s writing on this is spectacular, but Phil’s delivery is equally amazing. You have to deliver the emotions in order to get the song. Tony and Phil deliver. I miss Genesis!

Phil was such an amazing performer..you can tell these guys were having a blast up there, they loved their fans. Their shows were amazing every time, now he's reduced to doing shows in a chair because he needs the money, I don't think he's broke or anything, actually far from it but with the divorce, the surgeries, the huge legal bills all ...he has no choice poor guy.. Damn getting old is a bitch.

I was at one of the July 1987 shows at Wembley ... I don't recall which one. I'd seen them a few days earlier at Roundhey Park in Leeds (it poured down with rain through most of the show). In a box somewhere I still have my black Invisible Touch t-shirt (which is probably too small for me now). Good stuff.
