Crafting the L90 collectable is the best way to farm purple scripts all round. With trained eye its 4 or less actions. Crafting it 3 times gets you 342 purple scripts which is still less time than it takes to do 1 L99 collectable which gives 198. Plus the mats are way way cheaper. Personally ive already crafted a bunch claro walnut fishing rods which one of my retainers is holding for orange scrips. You should also be getting your gatherers out farming aethersands and collectables plus doing custom deliveries every week with a gatherer and make sure its the bonus item. Make sure to do the map allowance every day.

I recommend using the lvl 89 (Giant Popoto Pancakes) instead of the lvl 90 one, as that doesn't require any bicolor gemstone mats and as such is much cheaper, and it's just 108 instead of 114 per handin so not a massive change. Also, don't forget to stock up on Crystals!
The mats were VERY cheap just prior to Dawntrail. If you stockpiled back then you could have invested very little for the ability to make thousands now. Not helpful right now, bit something to keep in mind in a year or two if you're prepping for the next expansion...

Appreciate the info! In the future, if it's at all possible, could you offer any estimates on how much of each thing to stock up on as a baseline? I'm brand new to end game crafting and trying to figure out how to best prepare 👌
I usually don't like mentioning a specific number for people to stack on mentioned items as even though everything is pretty much an educated guess from what we've seen in the past, we don't know if requirements for the new recipes will change. So it really depends how much time/gil you're willing to invest. For the materia, crafting/gathering food and crafting pots I mentioned, I would suggest just getting as many of those as you can as they will most certainly be needed and continously used throughout the next patch. I will be making another video soon outlining everything I have stockpiled for the patch.
The one estimate I can give is that if you wanna be 100% sure you can buy every crafter book, if they come out at 1600 per book, is to make 112 to 113 of the culinarian level 90 collectible

It can be, but if you have a friend that's gathering in the later zones it helps. Luckily I had someone to help me, otherwise it would have costed a LOT more! Also, the quicker you have your crafts levelled up, the more gil you can make back anyway as you can craft the high level recipes before others and sell them on the market. It's what I did to make everything I spent back

One thing you missed was custom deliveries, you get about 2.5mil per turn in up to 12 turn ins per week.
Ah yes those are good too! I didn't touch them on my crafters from 90-100 hence why I didn't mention it, but definitely a good shout for those that don't have leve allowance to rush to 100. Thanks!

I never understood the point of crafting macros.... It is slower than using the skills yourself, and doesn't take advantage of condition procs. So why?
What goggles are u wearing at the beginning
They are the Indagator crafting goggles
Whenever I see Expert craft my reaction is "o oh! gonna need food, Soul Crystal *and* medicine even with my over melded 620 gear..." For the record, the devs expect it to take you now till the next expansion to do this for all your tools; This is after all the end game for crafters, the crafter equiv of Savage. Truth is the ilvl630 tools from the previous stage is more than good enough for crafting all the current end game 4 star crafts. However, we need to think ahead to Drawntrail, the final stage to get to ilvl640 is akin to hitting stage 8 super saiyan, utter overkill - *but* the 640 tool will help you leapfrog to 100 in the very first week of Dawntrail without really needing to upgrade your gear if at all till around level 100 and considering for the first two months of an expansion the only way you can level crafters is through the quests, grand company hand ins and leves, it will make it a breeze to level, may even be able to do it in a couple of days and craft your first set of 100 HQ gear, worth it if you want to make a lot of gil out the gate if you can pull it off.

I'm really disappointed with the crafting and gathering in this game, it's like the main thing I like about MMO's but when they instance lock stuff I just get bored
im finding out i hate these jobs. i have been following guides all day and around lvl 60 i have just been lost. none of the macros seem to be working. i dont undsrstand the rotations to manually do it. this has all been a headache. decided to just blow gold on the collectibles in mor dohna to get scripts. the lvl 50 macro works on thebone item i picked but everything else i try it just doesnt seem to line up right for me. i cant wait until this is over.... lvl 65 and still barely know what im doing. every item i search on the macro website there are no macros for.... oh what a day this has been

If you want to make Gil, you typically gotta figure it out yourself. But here's a tip. Convenience. People don't like doing things. They don't like grinding, farming, effort. If people have the money, they will use that money to skip as much as they can. Think... quests that require HQ crafts of certain things. Another example is, in WoW, every new expansion, or major patch that introduces new crafting materials, you can make ABSURD amounts of money just, farming those new materials and selling them. Because people will pay a ton of money just to not have to go grind it themself, and get a headstart on crafting themself.
