Regarding the clasp discomfort; I covered the 2 nodes with a tiny piece of black electrical tape. It works really well to make it comfortable without tightening the fit.

The Citizen would actually last very long. It can go on with less frequent servicing than the Rolex. The catch being servicing we will be a third to half the cost of the watch, so.... Does one just a new watch or service the old one is a question.
Fair point. Personally I would buy a new watch over servicing.

I have 6,150 reasons to prefer the Citizen, but I agree that the cyclops takes away from the look of the Citizen's dial. A perfect homage watch to the OP would be to have the double "II" on 12, 3, 6, and 9 and no text at all on the face, and everything else looking the same. I like the dial of the OP way better than the Datejust or the Day-Date...it distills the esthetic of Rolex right down to the bare bones.
Yes, the Rolex OP is the last real Rolex tool watch without the bling. In my opinion it is classic Rolex.

Tbh I prefer the two tone metal version rather than the all silver metal.
The two tones are nice watches.
@@watchesdreams I'm not usually a fan of many two tone watches, but it's strange I prefer the look of the royal with two tone for sure.

It's a bargain for a mechanical chronograph. I have the brother to that with the black dial as well as the 62 Mas chronograph they also manufacture. The fact that they are manual is a plus for me. I've put an on the fly clasp by the company on them.

I picked up the Pro in 2023. I enjoyed it but it is a chunky monkey. I changed the bracelet to a Rubber B strap to make it lighter.
Picked one up for $11 last week at the local Walmart.
Now thats value for money
Very nice looking piece. It has tons of character. You can Dress up or down. Suit or simple good black T shirt.

San Martin SN015 GMT has entered the chat LOL. Higher specs, and around $100 + dollars less in cost. It has a 4hz (ETA clone) movement, sapphire crystal, screw down crown, 200M water resistance, better overall finish of case and jubilee bracelet (with screws not pins), bi-direction bezel with click, anti reflective coating, super bright lume on dial AND bezel... I feel like there is more, but you get the idea.
I am also a big fan of SM
