    Lots of ignorant tourists ruin it for everyone else. I hate when some selfish girl sprays toxic sunscreen on herself to go right into the water seconds after, and then denies she did it. Imagine what lots of stupid people doing this day after day would do to the sealife. People don't realize that that defeats the purpose - it comes right off into the water.

    Was on a reef in the keys lots of critters, sharks down below and barracuda too, my underwater camera sucked so the pic didn't turn out but I'll never forget it.

    This isn’t “bad behavior,” it’s just people who are either pretty bad swimmers or who mistake a coral reef for a heavily barnacled rock. Get over yourself.

    Kanaka here. I can’t express to you enough how pissed this makes us locals/Hawaiians. I tell people every single time I go to the beach to stop standing on the coral. Besides the fact that coral can slice through you like a warm knife through butter, you’re standing on living organisms and nearly destroying them if not entirely. You are visitors to the aina and her waters. Respect them or don’t come. It’s simple.

    The reef is too shallow from what im reading...I live in Florida and all "Tourist" are floating at 5 to 20 feet above the reefs that the tours go on...I take my own boat....im leaving for Hawaii this October because my wife has never been there but we wont go to thst spot..I was therr in late 70''s and everything was free and wild..I read that the toilet bowl is blocked off now..geesh....social media has ruined all the secret best spots..same here in Florida and every where else!

    Wear water shoes, folks. Scraped my toe in the Maldives and it took some time to heal. Just be mindful of the corrals. You don't want to have open wounds in open seas. Safety first!

    They are not touching any CORAL just rock...just saying...

  • @bobcoggins6557
    @bobcoggins65573 ай бұрын

    The rock in the bay is dark lava rock. Everything you see here is white coral base. There is no “rock” in the video. It is dead coral and if not walked on new coral could use this as a base to start growing this reef back to a normal reef.
