  Superb ! Makes me miss Dubai so much... Back in 2003, I went to the airport at night, to pick up an Egyptian friend. On the way back to our hotel on Jumeirah Beach, an heavy fog like you can't imagine, even if you're a San Franciscan ;-) I remember my friend, terrorised, whilst I was driving at 10-kmph, the head outside thru the window...

  Dubai is a cosmopolitan city in United Arab Emirates. UAE is an open country. There are Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic beers available. You might be able to buy alcohol in Duty Free but age restrictions for clubbing it's 21+. It's possible to buy alcohol being under , but you'll be in trouble when caught. It's not that Police is going around checking on people, it's more that people are acting stupid when intoxicated which cause them trouble and then Police has to take action.

  You can get a liquor license and buy it from MMI (Maritime & Mercantile International) where it is slightly cheaper, or go to nearby Umm Al Quain and buy it without any taxes. It's really cheap there.

  You can only buy liquor in hotels and it's expensive, I heard there's a liquor store in the airport and you can stock up there but there's a limit of 4 bottles per person.
