  I booked from the Harmain Train website. If you google Harmain Train, you will easily find their website. There is also the Harmain Train app, which you can download on your mobile and book using it. Hope this helps.

  Wa Alaikum Salam, brother. I got it from a currency exchange at the Istanbul airport. You will easily find it. But do not exchange much as rates are a bit high at airports and you will get a better rate when you reach the city. You will seldom need cash as credit/debit cards are accepted everywhere except may be small stalls.

  Salam Alaykum brother Zafar, I will be travelling to Istanbul in August with my wife, do I need to buy just 1 Istanbul travel pass ? is 1 pass is enough for both of us? and what is the process if one card is enough for both? I mean do we need to swipe twice? Means after the first person enters through the booth then should I return the pass to the 2nd person for him to enter through the booth?? I shall be very grateful for your help 😊

  Wa Alaikum Salam, brother. You both can use the same card. Up to 5 people can use it as per their website. You can touch the card and let the person cross the barrier and then go yourself afterwards touching it again. The crew at train stops are really helpful, and if you get any issue, they will help. You do not need to touch the card when leaving station. Hope this helps.

  They allow one big suitcase, but it should be of size 65 x 55 x 35 cm (length-height-width). Not more than this. Otherwise, they will not allow it. Besides, passenger will be able to carry one extra hand luggage: backpack, laptop bag, camera bag, purse, nursery bag and any similar items. If you have more luggage or larger suitcases them I would recommend taking taxi.

  If the bag is too large or of different shape, then they do not accept it. There is a postal service on the train station which can send your bag to the destination station through post. They charge some money for it per bag. I was travelling from Madinah to Makkah a few years back and had a carton of dates. They didn't allow it on the train and I have to use the postal service. Then I have to collect it from Makkah station after a couple of days. They do not post to the hotel or any other address but just the train station. So I would say be very careful about bags to avoid all the pain.

  So if you have very large bags I would recommend to use to taxis etc as it will take you directly to the hotel. The exact size of the bag allowed you to check on their website.

  They only allow 1 bag per passenger. I do not think there is an option to add excess baggage. There is an option to send bag through saudi postal service which have got a counter at each station but issue is that they do not deliver at hotel or home and only deliver it to the destination train station. And it is a pain as you have to collect it yourself after a day or two. So if you have extra baggage, I think taxi is the best option to avoid all the issues as it will take you directly to your hotel.
