Good on Gavin Henson. I don't know him personally but it was very clear that the public, the media, and the rugby community built him up, then knocked him down in a very cruel way. He has been through a lot. Sure, he was at times a daft youngster who made some bad decisions, but who hasn't? As a Scottish rugby supporter who was on the receiving end of his brilliant play, I am delighted to see him making a great future for himself, and wish him the very best.

Men in suits with often little idea of the supporters view. Friday night league geographically remains impractical for supporters and for hoppers Cymru Premier is becoming a no go. Still its a nice shiny report with all the jargon. VAR lite/heavy what a waste of money.
@WelshyM21 күн бұрын
He can't even say "Cymru" correctly. Heaven help us. Friday football will fall flat on its face.The league has been crap since the early 90s. It'll still be crap 30 years from now. I bet the likes of Caernarfon, Rhyl, Bangor all wish they were still in the English pyramid. Why does he talk about Euros? We have ££ in Wales. Total 🤡 clown

Why exactly do we need to keep up with VAR, proven to be unwanted by the vast majority of fans. How does the travelling from north to south work in regard to Friday night games? The costs to run a side in the Cymru Premier is vastly more expensive than in the Cymru N/S how can that gap be bridged when teams are financially better off staying down?

What an absolute waste of resources and personnel. To improve the structure in domestic Welsh football you need four things: 1) Fan engagement - offer season ticket/travel incentives to fans at all clubs and a unified online merchandise store for all Prem clubs 2) Streaming service - a set fee than anyone in the world can pay to watch all games at their location 3) EFL affiliation - create official affiliations between the Welsh prem and the Welsh clubs in the EFL to ensure a faster and more efficient talent pathway 4) Academy structure - ensure that Welsh prem academies offer the best coaching and development services and create stronger connections with grassroots teams to progress Welsh talent THAT is where this money should be going…..NOT VAR, NOT Friday night matches and NOT content creation

As usual the fans were the last consideration Jack Sharp.......... Engage with your local club by taking your family out for the afternoon to see a game Me....................... You've just said it will be a Friday night league and the league season ended last week??????????????? Have a word with yourself mate fans will not traipse across Wales on a Friday night to watch footie in the middle of a cost of living crisis. Fans work shifts especially in the areas of Wales where the teams are based, therefore will be unable to attend a significant amount of games. The next generation of fans need to be engaged at a young age.............. How many parents are going to take them to a game on a Friday night after a long week at work and the kids will be knackered after a long week at school. You need to make it a Summer league to give the teams a chance in European competition, teams in the Cymru Premier are coming in to qualifying games after just a few training sessions and friendlies playing against fully match fit teams halfway through their seasons, that's why they very rarely progress. Wake up and smell the coffee, there is no shame in copying someone else, especially when it works, let other organisations test their theories and then cherry pick the good ones for the Cymru Premier. VAR lite................... What a joke VAR does not work as it was designed to because as soon as you introduce people into the equation, with their inherent biases the technology is irrelevant................. that's being proved week after week in the Engish Premier. Football without fans is nothing and this is a sure way to bring that about. Only my opinion........ I'm a fan what do I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everybody’s getting worried about the logistics of having matches on Friday, but they have a trial period and it might not be introduced in 2026/27 season. I understand that players and fans might not have the means to travel on Friday’s but it’s a trial period for a reason. This guy has been working at MK Dons as a head of football. One club is very different to an entire football pyramid.

From what is sounds like from the BBC the Friday night games will be apart of phase 1 which is regionalised. I think the maximum distance on a Friday night in that case would be 2.5 hours west to east (Aberystwyth vs Connahs quay/flint currently)

Trying to make everyone happy will make no one happy - too many contradictions in this report and interview. The only positive sign is the full-time positions for administration roles as its a huge turn off seeing loads of * next to teams names, but its a sad incitement of the league when that is FAW lead. My closing statement is that expanding the league is a mistake when we've seen clubs like Airbus UK getting whitewashed as recently as last year. The league should decrease to 8 teams and purely focus on european football. Marketing wise TNS vs Roma or Connahs Quay Vs Valencia in the Europa conference league proper would do more to market this league than introducing teams like Porthmadog and Ammanford
@TheGroundHopper22 күн бұрын
Just a response as items are not too clear, reading the BBC report there could be a regionalised first phase of the league then a top division of the best teams to finish the season. That touches on my final point but Im currently blind as this phased announcement raises more question marks than answers
