    I wouldn't call them a bad joke, more overpriced. I'm hoping Jackson has it's QC issues sorted because under Fender ownership it's been almost Gibson like in the way that the prices were ramped up as QC took a back seat.

    I don’t know how I missed this video for 2 months! Better late than never…. I saw your comments on how you tried out a BE DLX before settling on the SS100V2. Do you mind comparing the distortion channels? I have the SS and am wondering if it would be redundant to get the BE DLX synergy module.

  • @sir.shreddington
    @sir.shreddington2 күн бұрын

    Hey man! The SS is smoother out of the two and has a simpler design, but the BE dlx offers a ton of variety with all of the available options. Both have that classic Friedman / Marshall sound. I think they are similar enough since they cover the same territory, so I probably would stick with one or the other. You could find a place that has a good return policy, so you can check out the module and return it if you think it's too similar

    To me, the missing neck and headstock binding is the biggest issue. Just makes the guitar look cheaper when you compare it to what they offer on the offshore models. I agree that SS frets are personal choice, but the Floyd should be the OG at the price point.

    its elitist mentality - original floyd and SS frets over the rest...boring argument. SS frets have not been around that long although keyboard warriors want to act like it should be standard across all guitars otherwise they are instantly trash. The 1500 series FR has better part that won't rust over time or take a hell of alot of playing/sweat to do so. People want to wear their badge of honour to say one is better than the other...similar to your end point, most people ive seen saying such things can't back it up with playing. If people like It how It is then no reason to shame them.

    I don't have tons of money to drop on new stuff, so I look for used. A guitar (like most things) is going to get dings and scratches over time anyway, so the most important thing is function. Even if you have to buy upgraded or replacement parts, it will save tons over buying new. I only own one guitar that I bought new (Explorer copy) and after upgrading a few things, I still saved a ton of money. Name brand is not as important as function if you are buying it just to play anyway. I'll take an Epiphone or Squire over Gibson or Fender any day.

    I just picked one up new for $1550. Has everything and more for what I look for in a guitar. Dropped the extra money to get made in the US, as country of origin is important to me. I can't wait for it to come. Love Jackson guitars. I feel like a lot of the discourse on this existed in the context of the original price point. Its an absolute steal at $1550. However, for the original asking price of $2600, I can understand why people were a bit critical. If I dropped $2600, I would want an original Floyd on there as well. Especially considering the made in China option had identical specs and was $1000 cheaper. Not to mention how plain the MIA models look compared to their MIC or MII counterparts. The price drop of ~40% in just a year and a half speaks to the fact that it was overpriced when it first came out. I did a lot of research and concluded that this would be the best possible guitar to buy for what I wanted. However, I don't think I would have spent any more than I did on it.

    Cheap guitars (or amps for that matter) are great until you've played an expensive one... then you're ruined.. Whether it's the PRS SE vs A Core/or Private Stock, or a $500 Fender China amp vs a $4500 Matchless Chieftain 40W ... once you've experienced the nice quality ... you are ruined. The idea that you don't get what you pay for in musical equipment defies logic and the principals of the free market.. things don't sell for prices that don't justify their value over the long term.

    I can disagree with that. I have an american PRS, a korean SE made, an old Yamaha pacifica 112m and others. While you can feel the difference in certain aspects, i am consistently suprised at some cheap things i come across. So, even though I have nice things, i am a sucker for good budget items. And i find myself looking for "what feels more expensive than it actuslly is," and there are for sure some surprises out there. That yamaha that i paid $150 has been one of my favorites for years. The spilt neck and mid pickup are perfectly stratty, neck is great. Though the bridge pickup is a bit dirty/driven sound even when clean, i have grown to appreciate as personality of the guitar.

So until it starts to seriously affect their bank account, they’re not going to change. My LP is an ‘04 that I bought gently used in ‘05 for what a mid - high level Epiphone goes for now. There’s no chance in hell I’m paying what they’re asking for nowadays, it’s insane! But, people love them. After owning about 50 guitars over 15 years i have finally sold off ALL my Gibsons and Fenders for what i paid (no gain but no loss) before the market eventually worls out they are overyhyped and overpriced - Im so glad to be rid of them and have my money back and now playing BETTER and CHESPER japanese guiars - i will not go near either G or F ever again - The only problem is the retard guitar market cork snifferes who distort the market in favor of the 2 overated behemoth brands - and so every other manufacturer doing a better job gets hammered by buyers not wanting to lose money on the resale market because they know all the other dumbasses will only buy G and F at a reasonable price. Hopefully the new generation doesnt give a damn about G and F and their prices soon fall off a cliff as they deserve to and then the many other fine manufacturers get a fairer share of the market, which would also mean a better deal for buyers. FFS people just get over G and F already - its all just marketing BS.
