PEASE DO NOT EMAIL/MESSAGE ME WITH BOOK FORMATTING QUESTIONS! Your message will likely be ignored. I'm sorry, but I have provided all the help I can in the video series on this topic. I do not have the time or energy to handle such questions, even if you are offering to pay for services. Many of the questions I've received have already been addressed in the videos or can be found with a quick internet search and some trial & error.

I just found your BOOK FORMATTING IN WORD series and they have been quite helpful! Many thanks! My only complaint is that what you are presenting to us is very small and hard to read. It may be my eyes ;) but I do wish I was able to better see what you are highlighting. Regardless, thanks again for the excellent information.

Thank you so much for your video tutorials. I am a new indie author, so short on budget, as well as, knowledge on all things self-publishing...so your easy-to-understand videos on formatting have been a godsend. I have just finished my second book and was getting nervous about how to do things on my own....so finding this highly informative video has been a blessing.

Bookmarks make great business cards and conversation starters. I usually hang at side or a little in front of my table and if someone looks over I say hi, then offer them a boomark.

I am asking you this because I find you to be an expert on formatting for manuscripts. Is there ever a way that one can make corrections and modifications to one’s manuscript while it’s in PDF form on the KDP website and being viewed there as an upload? That would make things so easy. Just a question…

Thank you. I am looking for assistance with section breaks on a Second Edition of my book. The page numbers and/or headers are messing up each time I need a section break to keep all chapters starting on the right side pages. Thank you for your channel.

I just watched all the videos in this playlist. Thank you very much! Word opened up for me from a new side. But Atticus is certainly interesting. If I start receiving royalties, I'll have to buy it 😁 For me, it was the last video that made the difference. I had so much trouble with the hanging lines! And you showed such an elegant and simple solution. Thanks a lot 🤍 I want to say that not only does the Book of the Pirates look awesome, but so do your books. Love the covers and formatting. Looks professional and attractive. I have something to strive for. Thank you again ❤‍🔥

You might want to investigate the "Gutter" setting technique. It simplifies what you spend lots of time "tweaking" using trial-and-error. The gutter box is there, designed for VERY GOOD reasons not to bypass it. KZread has lots of examples of how-to. Good video. Great enthusiasm for the topics. Thank you.

I just have a quick question. To preface it, I have to say that I used to think that I had a fairly good knowledge of technology and especially of MICROSOFT, but putting together a book for possible PUBLISHING is a tremendous challenge. I think it is because of so many convoluted steps. The The topic for the week this week has been starting page one on the ninth page of the book at the introduction. I tried it first the way it was told by another KZreadr and then I tried your suggestions and it worked!!! However, it worked for about three minutes and after that I had all the odd pages set but no even pages anywhere in a 218 page manuscript. They were there. They just didn’t have page numbers. Please before I go back and take out all the section markings and everything. I wonder if you could just help me with one particular question: can I finish all my editing and formatting and then go back and try to tackle pages at the very end? Also, for a quick second question: is it possible for me to get the results I want with page numbers without taking out section breaks and going back and undoing everything that I’ve done? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I find your tutorials to be very, very helpful. You are very clear and your pace is wonderful so that I’m able to keep up with you in trying to learn some formatting things. I mean that seriously because so many others do not have good diction and it’s very difficult to understand them. I’m In a quandary at the moment, I’m having trouble with something that I’ve never had trouble with MICROSOFT before, and that is page numbers. I mastered it from what you said in starting numbering in the actual body of my book rather than at the beginning pages and starting page one there. But all of a sudden, my pages have reverted to starting with page one and sequencing a few numbers after that and then stopping all numbers whatsoever. I must’ve done something else because it also tells me that I have six sections and I even went in and tried to delete sections and was not successful. Just from this confusing information I wonder if you can offer me any advice. I also want to do my headers with odd pages carrying the title and even pages my name, but for some unknown reason I have been unable to master that. I really would appreciate any advice. Thank you and keep on making those great videos.

Headers are my issue right now. What I did not see you cover/show is whether, after adding the headers, they appeared on your previous unnumbered pages. Word adds my headers to every single page, regardless of which page is #1. How did you NOT get the headers to show on the unwanted pages? - thank you

This was an awesome tutorial, I really got a lot out of it! The only adjustment you might consider is instead of adding the section break as "Next Page", I think the standard is to always start new chapters on the right side, so maybe add the section break as "Odd Page" instead. All your instructions are still working for me when I do this, so just a tip. Thanks!

  • @ta_hernandez5

You absolutely can do it that way if you want to, I have seen trad and indie books published both ways. I personally dislike the blank page that is sometimes left if you have a chapter that ends on an odd page and then start the new chapter on an odd page, so I like to do mine this way. But whatever works for you! Thanks for the comment, glad the video was helpful!
