Assuming that was your fix to the no crank, no start? Currently having the EXACT same symptoms with an E39 manual. Replaced EVERYTHING on the ignition system, including a brand new key from the dealer, and got it working for a couple days. EWS and DME scanned for faults and zero. Im hoping this is my problem cause im exhausting all my options besides tracing the whole harness :(
I truly hope so, these issues are frustrating!
I know this is 5 years, old, how many miles did you have? I watched your video for the fuel tank removal part, I need to replace my evap canister. probably pump and filter while I have it down. You seem to have kinda skipped over a lot of the tank removal, was it that easy? I've done it on plenty of other vehicles, just not the ST. Also, good chance that pump is bad. It draws more juice when it starts to fail and makes that plug get hot "cook". Thanks for your video.
Coincidentally, this is exactly my truck. Well, mine is a V8... not sure about this one. Anyway, great video, maybe the best one I've seen.
Wow so beautiful
You push the fitting forward. Pull out the blue tab. And the line comes right off
does this apply to auto transmissions?
Nice 😊
Done my truck last week. I don’t have the hemi but a 17 gt. I drained the gas, loosened fuel tank straps, and took shields off, bent tank downward, and removed and installed new pump. Not by the book but less work and didn’t puncture tank. Drives perfect no leaks. Amazon fuel pump was 85$
I have a 15 sxt, do you think it would be hard if I do it myself? I have done my lights from videos so easy to catch on.
Su troca está comensando . y no enciende el Motor porque se confunde creen que no da vuelta el motor...
Best mechanic tutorial ever wat kind of camera is that

It has nothing to do with your no crank problem as it works correctly! When you put your key in and the doors were opened I could hear beeping which means immo and code were recognised correctly. By wiggling the cables you accidentally wiggled the whole barrel which wiggeled on the other side the ignition switch were likely your core issue is…
👍🏻
Great Civil War history at Aquia landing.
Man i cannot find any videos on the 2018 . Information for these things are so limited. Looks like I am going to have to figure it out or by the cd service manual
Just a suggestion... When taking off the exhaust you can avoid having to remove the trim and bumper to get to the hanger. If you look at the exhaust itself by the resonator theres a backet on driver side that you can loosen and take off. That will free up the exhaust to be moved more easily so you dont have to remove body panels etc. This bracket isnt on the passenger side, just the driver side. so just FYI
Hey i dropped my key now bmw wont crank or start
OMg thank you for showing me that blue clip! I was going to roll the car out of the garage and set it on fire just because of that one damn clip.
Dangerous amateur. Go back to gardening

You removed the ring while the car was already running. The car does not need the ring around the ignition to be connected while the car is running, it's only required to communicate with the correct key which will allow the car to start. Now in you video you switch the car off while the ring was removed already but you were able to start it back up again without the ring connected, this is also normal behavior, once the ignition is turned off, if within 10 seconds you will be able to start the car back up without the ring connected or even the chip in the key, in fact you could start the car essentially with only the key blade with no electronics present, as long as you try to start it again within 10 seconds after turning off the ignition. I believe you did not wait long enough after you turned the ignition off before cranking it again thats why the car started without the ring around the ignition. If you don't believe me you can try it yourself. If you have an after market key that clips together or even if you have the original key that's been cut open, start the car with the key as you normally would then turn off the car, and quickly within 10seconds remove the electronics from the key so that you only have the key blade and you will see the car will start up no problem, but if you wait more than 10 seconds and try and start the car using just the blade it won't crank until the ring senses the correct chip in the which will allow the car to start again
Absolutely correct. Please consider subscribing.👍🏻
GREAT NISSAN.
The keyring is only an antenna with no code involved. The key, IMMO (CAS/EWS), and DME all need to be programmed together if you swap parts between cars.
It was only the reciever ring??
The ring and the clutch switch.
@@waldyxlt do they need to get coded? And they broke just like that or bad recieving and stalling first?
@@E36andE46vlog nothing I did on the video had to be coded. The ring just stopped working. One morning the car wouldn’t crank and that was it.
@@waldyxlt you put in a new ring and it worked again?
My brother had this same car in 90,91 nice no problems....!
Really liked your approach to issues and your sense of humor. You should have a million followers. Stick with it. Love your confidence.
Thanks so much for your comment! I’ll keep grinding it here.
I had no crank no start noticed a fuse kept popping under the hood followed the o2 sensor wires found a short
Witch fuse?
yo lots of Drug dealers in NYC use to buy this car just to run from the cops..then after this they started using the Acura Legend.
80’s Style and power 😈
Yes, of course since the Acura very early came with 24 valves DOHC . Just Toyota Camry had it as well in 1988.
I came in from the store and when I go back to my car it got a no start not crank. The batter is good and I’ve rested the fuses I just haven’t replaced or tested the starter. Should I try this
Is yours a manual one as well?
No automatic
Ok, I think this video may help you sort it out. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fmWImddwYNXVl5M.html
The problem is simply in the battery. Discharged or too old.
If the battery is discharged - why are the doors locking/unlocking with the remote buttons?
omg this video saved me alot of money 💰it was the ring around da ignition all did was wiggle it a lil bit it started right up
That’s awesome! I’m glad we were able to help! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Amigo tienes algún whstap no hablo inglés y creo q tengo el mismo problema
Hola, preferiría que platicáramos acá, así todos se benefician de la conversación. Te pregunto, tu automóvil es manual o automatico?
awww I wanted to hear them panic. can you attach a blowtorch to it?
Hi my friend. Did you experienced any trouble with the alarm, ews or else ? I'm currently having the same problem with my e46 and I'm very tempted to try your technique.
Hello, I had no issues with the alarm, ews etc at all. Keep in mind this one is a manual.
@@waldyxlt hi, thanks for the feedback. Mine is a manual too. I tried your technique yesterday, without success alas. I might have to change the starter.

Is just like mine even the color I been keeping it for 9 years in my garage pretty soon it will be on the road again I bought the parts little by little and I have to fix a electric problem the engine starts perfectly incredible after all those years and very smooth it's a classic and a rare car you don't see one of those by the streets anymore.
2wheel drive?
Yes
What is the diff if it was 4x4?
stupid quack heads !
Finish it with acetone
Nathan! Keep up the good content! Acetone? Really? I’ll give it a try for sure!
I’ve been searching high and low for one of these to purchase. If you’re ever interested in selling come back to this comment! 😊
Any ideas on how to bypass the key antenna on a automatic car since with manual you disconnected the clutch?
Good question, the only thing I bypassed on mine was the clutch switch, the key antenna was disconnected and it started without it only after it had started with the replacement key antenna. I didn’t try a “jumper” wire on the key antenna harness. So I don’t know if that could be bypassed.
Apparently those antenna rings are mated to the sensor in a key lm told and to get a new coding and barrel costs 400 bucks in Australia, might have to bite the bullet ahh well
@@billystergiopoulos8025 I simply took a key ring antenna from a parts car that we have and it worked on the car in the video. I believe the key and the EWS are coded alike, and the ring is just there to tell the EWS “yes that’s the correct signal coming form the key”.

In ‘89 I was shopping for one of these. I seem to recall at least 4 colors on the SE. This (silver), a dark grey (pewter), black and there may have been a maroon color. I know that for ‘87-88, they had white too? I drove so many ‘85’s. I ended up buying a black ‘86. I liked the restyling they did for ‘87, but they added motorized seatbelts in early ‘87. If you managed to get the earliest of the ‘87’s you got a car exactly like this (no motorized belts) but with the updated tail lights and wheels. I drove my ‘86 over 60,000 miles in my 3 years of ownership. Loved it.
They are an absolute classic 80's car!!! I don't recall a White SE.
@@waldyxlt '88 had what was called an SE Special Edition which came only in white. I don't recall the exact details, but some of the extras may have included a suede interior, white painted wheels, fog lights and perhaps even side skirts. I am only sure about the Special Edition was available in '88 and that it was white. As I said, I shopped in '89 and a couple of Nissan Dealers had '88 leftovers. I didn't like the white color, so I passed on it. The dealer offered me a maroon '88 leftover for $13,500 which was a steal! I was set on Black, Pewter or Silver, and so I passed on that as well.
I have a 1985 nissan maxima for sale with 101,000 miles, doe anyone know the value, interior is in pristine condition, the paint on the hood is faded, the paint on the rest of the car is 9/10
