My goal to make videos that are both entertaining and informative. I have accumulated a large variety of firearms and accessories over the years. If there is any evaluation or comparison you would like to see I will try to accommodate. I like the shooting part of it, and my kids like making videos, so they started me on this venture when I retired from my surgical practice. I will try to provide quality reviews, shooting fun, and hopefully some useful information along the way. I would contact the company and forward them your findings. Needless to say, those are nice looking grips and probably need some tweaking to make those just right. If High Stamdard could make those in the 1950s. Then I am sure a company could easily rival or even beat the quality in 2024.

I use these gb on my 556 guns and soon to be my 308 build. Excellent illustration of the bleed off mode, I have to explain this to customers at the range fairly often.

I own both and the a22 is bad as the 512 is good. The a22 is an engineering failure in every way. It is almost guaranteed to jam on every mag.I even sent it back to savage twice and they sent another new rifle that was worse than the first.I refuse to waste my money on another savage product. It’s so bad I won’t even sell it to someone else.

Mine came with the head of the cam pin slightly canted. I barely noticed it once I finally got all the parts for my build together and never even shot it and I had bought it so long ago that I don’t wanna hit them up and they think “Oh sure you got it like this” but I bought and it’s never been fired. Yes I cycled it sure enough trying to figure out which side the cant would lock up best but then seeing this video makes me think it is supposed to be perfectly perpendicular. So then I checked the specs sheets and said ah fu me.

Too bad this has been discontinued in the US. Nobody wants to sale their used models either. I always wanted to add this rifle to my collection and was finally ready to purchase but never imagined CZ would nolonger offer this model to US consumers. The CZ 512 is available in Australia and New Zealand and will cost a little more than $3,000 to import. As a huge CZ enthusiast I am very disappointed and feel like CZ has let down the US consumer. I'm rethinking my opinion of CZ. The only other 22 WMR semi-auto rifles are less than desirable with CZ and Ruger both exiting the US market. The only comparable manufacturer in the US is Volquartsen and their models are way overpriced. If CZ would bring back this model to the US as a limited edition I would pay very handsomely for it. Until then my CZ collection is incomplete and I am very disappointed with CZ.

Very fair comparison but I would disagree with the "takedown ". I'm sure some people will disagree but I'm more concerned about cleaning the rifle, not just taking the stock off. All you need to do with the savage is remove the dust cover, twist the return spring and the bolt slides out the back. This will allow you to clean the rifle from the chamber end forward, instead of the muzzle end. The CZ is more similar to a 10/22 or marlin 60. It can be cleaned from the chamber end, like the savage but the bolt spring is a bit of a challenge to get in without bending it (same as marlin 60s). It is true that you'll have to remove the scope on the savage to clean it but that's only if you select the right/wrong scope. I have a Burris 4.5-14x42 , Burris 3-9x40 aa well as most of my other scopes that do not interfere with cleaning/removing the dust cover on my savage A17. I wish I had bought the CZ, I will admit, but it should also be mentioned that CZs are not nearly as easy to find, at least not for 100 miles from my area. One more drawback of the CZ is it comes with a 11mm dovetail for mounting a scope. The weaver bases are far more sturdy..

I don't understand the reset trigger pull. Reset is let-off, no? He measures 4 lbs, primary trigger pull, then it looks like he should be getting 4 lbs again, but it's much higher. Whaaa? How can let-off be measured as pull??

If you have a binary regardless how its made just be safe with it. Know what you have. Dont be an idiot. Always keep gun pointed down range. If your going to disassemble the firearm mid magazine and your dumb enough to keep your finger held back the entire time you should just give up your guns. Nothing wrong with a single disconnector. Just be mindful of what you have and dont be an idiot
