If you're a British Agent whacha doing in Carmel Valley? Eating Potatoes and Fries?
Interesting way to do an ad. .. start off on the defensive to tell everyone how great Monterey really is. Good marketing technique.
It’s really simple. Entitlement. And a predominantly boomer population. Rich White boomers are the most entitled people you will ever encounter.
Personally, I prefer single family homes not affiliated with any homeowner associations. Those condos and townhomes are beautiful and all; but expensive. And I imagine there will be uncontrollable, unforeseeable, 'dramatic' increases in hoa fees. It would be interesting if you'ld interview the owners who live in those properties.
Ive lived in marina since 2021 . I’ve never heard of the Marina smell - much less smelled it. I live 2 1/2 miles from the ocean . I love this little town . I will be staying long term . Lucky me 🎉
The horizontal wood paneling in the second home makes many of the rooms look smaller than they probably are. The exterior/entryway looks more mobile-home-esque than MCM.
Anywhere in Monterey or Carmel Ca is Beautiful my Sisters lives in Monterey only 5 Blocks away from the Wharf. It’s gorgeous & weather it’s Beautiful we go every weekend to Pacific Grove & Wharf to go Eat seafood or spaghetti or Lobster & awesome clam shower. I’ll be going back this week & hopefully in the future I’ll rent my beautiful home & invest beautiful home in Monterey Ca or Pacific Grove Ca!!! That’s why I am Investing my Money.
If you enjoy the outdoors there are plenty of like minded people to connect with making Monterey an exceptional place to live and feel a part of this incredible location. Yes, you will have to pay the price. It's expensive.
The paint on that hotel is hardly in keeping with the village aesthetic.

Do a video of the east side 😂😂
Carmel has one of California's best beaches and it's dog friendly. The sand is super fine, the water is clear and cold along with a kelp forest just off the beach. Dolphins, sea lions, otters, and marine birds are sighted here frequently. Carmel arguably has one of the nicest downtowns in California. It's quaint, devoid of chain stores and fast food restaurants. An abundance of very nice restaurants. Expensive choice of restaurants but great small intimate coffee shops. Tourist traffic is a bit much during the summer months but fall thru spring is beautiful and quiet. Most of Carmel residents live here as a second or third home. If you can connect with the locals you won't be disappointed as people are very interesting, well educated, and bring a lifetime of interesting experiences. The population is older which may limit your social life. There is world class golf within 10 minutes including Pebble Beach and several others. Be prepared to pay. Contrary to this video you would be lucky to find a house or condo under $1.5 million. Bonus is Carmel's proximity to Big Sur, great hiking in the local mountains, and a love for the outdoors shared by many of Carmel's residents.
@@2gameplan lol, you can host the next Carmel video gameplan 😁
Monterey has become an embittered community of people who no longer support or speak to each other, nasty, rude and obnoxious perhaps retirement is not a party.
Concerned about the lack of transit. I hate driving, & having to use a car to go anywhere. Its great that there is plenty of new construction, & low income housing, but all it does is add more traffic congestion, which increases travel times. It looks like it could be bike friendly.
GREAT HIKING!
Maybe your experience was bad. I always visit Monterey and I have no such issue. My concern towards the comment though is your condescending tone towards our military and military retired personnel. Maybe the person is the problem.
The smell is a phenomenon called "red tide". The same thing happens on the Pacific side of Costa Rica.
@@Aaron-ex8kv thank you. Googling ‘red tide’ now
As a native, Monterrey was incredibly kind, but it’s been unhinged with move ins treating others poorly. We’re sick of it. I actually ran a Real Estate Company in Carmel.
I love Monterey and have visited multiple times for birthdays, anniversaries, and getaways! Lots to do, awesome food, shops, restaurants, and the aquarium, great hotels too! People have been friendly and kind. Long walks and trails and the beach! Family celebrating a birthday next week and bringing our grandson for his first visit to the aquarium! 💙💙💙🌊🌊🌊

The omission of weather is laughable-Seaside gets a +2
@@DavidSchmalz lol, hey I said I was biased!
I dont care if its " expesive " I would still dive deep just to live where the beach is thriving & the sun is shining and also help you guys during our process 🌅🌄💛👑🏝🏞
I would love to live there honestly. I'm from Corpus Christi, Texas but I've always wanted to live somewhere in California since I was a teenager. I thank " World According To Briggs " KZread channel for recommending this lovely part of California that I am definitely interested in. Thank you brother I will love to talk to you

@@movingtomontereycalifornia I will !! You are appreciated 🥇
My hometown since 1979
Awesome thank you Andy
I've lived in the Monterey Bay Area for nearly 11 years now, about a mile from the bay as the crow (seagull?) flies. Glad I moved here.
TOO MANY FOREIGNERS.
Have experienced nothing but friendly people in Monterey in the many times I’ve been to Monterey.
Didn't run into a lot of people wile down there .... but we did meet some Pelicans .. and they seemed pretty Cool...
Earthquakes? Tsunami’s?
The 3rd house is that WOOD SHAKE on the outside exterior wall? If that is the case that is a massive fire hazard?
We go there twice a year to the Marine Aquarium. Always found people we met to be friendly, willing to share suggestions on good places to dine nd directions to find location we have heard of. Would we move there. In a heart beat.
Great video, may I use a small 5-second clip of this video for my small business? I live in Salinas and have a small business here.
Hey Jesus Yeah absolutely use whatever you like 👍 Let me know if you want any raw footage so it hasn’t got the background music (831) 392-5609
@@movingtomontereycalifornia Thank you so much! :)
Another great walking tour video. I've done daily walks along some of what I saw in this video, like around El Estero Park and along Alvarado... I lived just 3 blocks up the hill toward the military facility... that would make a good video in the future... I lived in the apt. complex at 501 Ocean ave... there are a lot of apartment buildings up in that area... perhaps a short walk around those communities?? I frequented all the coffee places within walking distance and sometimes even got coffee in Pacific Grove along that route.
And that little thing called the Monterey Bay Aquarium...
sir i am following your youtube channel constantly your content is very nice but your video is not going viral due to some mistakes in your optimization if you want i will show your mistakes and help you can i talk to you
Monterey is my hometown. Throughout the video, I was waiting to hear him discuss gang violence in Salinas as one of the cons but zero mention.
Is a beutiful place❤ Saludos desde mexicali , mexico! I lived there❤
I live in Monterey, CA and have not experienced this other than the older rich population. Many tourists here too. I love living in Monterey, but would prefer country living somewhere else on the planet; very quiet living.
Great video, very interesting. I grew there for 18 years. Agree crime can be bad in Salinas, particularly in east side and maybe even some parts of north side. South side is generally lower crime.
maybe what u smell is toxic. very well may be toxic. thats why no bigshots tell exactly what it is. IF the smells in doubt-get the heck out... IMO js imho
its called segregation. a bunch of rude wealthy race sist. go figure some would have complaints.
They are aggressive because you guys removed one “r” to the word Monterrey!
Moving to Salinas in 2018 worked out great. Bought a dated old house in the north area. I remodeled while i lived there. Thanks to rapid appreciation and low rates, i was able to cash out refi and move to Central Marina in late 2021. Bought another dated house. Older, outdated houses have been good to me.
Maybe they don't like Brits. 😅
Lol, impossible - we’re globally adored 🤣
@@movingtomontereycalifornia Americans Luv Brits , it's true !
Jesus not all retirees have such limited income that all they can afford is a mobile home. Depressing.
I lived in Monterey in 1987/88. Clint Eastwood was mayor of Carmel at that time. 12 of us hung out at the Carmel city hall just to meet him. After a week a cop came out. And graciously told us the Mayor was going in and out of the building thru a back entrance and he wasn't meeting anyone. We went home feeling jipped. But we got some autographed photos in the mail a month later the cop took care to make sure we got something for our time and for being in the military
