I use comment line so much I've made it Ctrl+E,Ctrl+C, same with uncomment. That way I can do the entire hotkey with just 1 hand. I've moved/added several other hotkeys to start with Ctrl+E.
Does Visual studio has Java and C programming too?
I’ve always used Shift+Delete
We need dark theme consistent in every menu options plsssss.......
Loved the use of MudBlazor in the last example and greate additions with the new features as well.
It's already been a year, and the feature is still unfinished
oh look you are not using EF Core!
Cool, but I feel I leave in the past using visual studio as its name is still Visual studio 2022. I understand it’s just a name, but for younger people who just start their career, no one would be happy to choose something like made in 2022😂
When will the new visual studio GUI update be released ?
I agree, One Dark Pro is the best theme and it should be default theme for dark mode in VS
Can you make function names in the start of function implementations in a larger bold font, so that they stand out like titles?
I hate update windows and vs. Green screen will kill me 😊
You need to add a ln option to disable the mouse scroll-to-toggle single/multi-line view of the document tabs. If the active tab is not on line 1, it gets moved to the first position on line 1. So many times it's not just a visibility toggle, it's a tab randomization tool. So either you need to fix the tab reordering, e.g. by keeping track of the position and putting the tab back in its correct place when going back to multi-line, which is probably not easy to do, or add an option to disable the feature. It's just 2 mouse clicks to toggle the "manual" way. Right click to bring up context menu, then a left mouse click. My mouse has a free wheeling mouse wheel, and that new "feature" has brought me nothing but trouble.
I have been asking for italics and underline for years! So glad it's finally here.
The attach to process change looks great.
Like if you love vs
I feel themes are lacking in visual studio, I tried customizing with different themes previously but all have some of the issues with syntax color and so on. and with full circle of exploring, I sticked with default dark theme (which is also sometime not consistent even though my PC is fully capable of graphics and so on)
• Shift+Delete - delete the line • Ctrl+D - duplicate the line • Shift+Alt+L - go to the file in Solution Explorer
Oh look it’s me!
Isn't it the same as Shift + Delete?
Wow. Knew all of them. Guess I’m pro now 🤷♂️
very nice topic and explanation. thanks
Like vim?
wait until they discover vim motions
I use Ctrl+X (left hand only, convenient when right hand is on mouse) to delete a whole line in Visual Studio. Is Ctrl+L (must use right-hand) for left-handled folks?
vim at home:
dd
It's been there for ages. 🤪
You spend weeks to check-in?
will you ever release a linux version ?
i dont have the sub , i use the free version and it is 100% fine
Two caveats: You need to declare which keyboard mapping scheme you're using since some shortcuts won't work as you've described; and, not every user can use the Copilot shortcuts (e.g. those without a paid subscription). And, I'm pretty sure that ctrl-space within the rename function dialog is Copilot not IntelliSense.
Why isn't there a shortcut 'go to usages' for god's sake. You forgot about the most important shortcuts like ctrl + f12, shift + f12. But I miss 'go to usage' so much. Just this is a reason enough to go buy resharper.
What language is he isusing?
Shortcuts for multi caret and column selection are awesome and pushed my productivity.
Ctrl+click: go to definition Ctrl+Shift+Space: show method arguments Ctrl+dot: refactoring Ctrl+Shift+V: ring clipboard
Frequent usage the following one's CTRL + K C and CTRL + K U - Comment and uncomment code efficiently. CTRL + K D - Format your document quickly. CTRL + Q - Navigate your code with ease. CTRL + G - Go to a specific line number. ALT + / - Quick access to IntelliSense suggestions. CTRL + K S - Insert a snippet. PROP TAB and CTOR TAB - Auto-generate properties and constructors. ALT + UP and ALT + DOWN - Move lines up or down. CTRL + ALT + B - Build your solution. CTRL + SHIFT + F9 - Remove breakpoints. CTRL + R W - Refactor and extract method. Very rare, I am using the following one's, CTRL + , CTRL + R CTRL + R - Rename variables and more. CTRL + L and CTRL + SHIFT + TAB - Advanced navigation. CTRL + M + O, CTRL + M M, and CTRL + M P - Manage code folding.
Solution explorer search crtl + ; is still my favourite
In VSCode I use mainly the command palette shortcut Ctrl+Shift+P from which you can pretty much do anything.
Using most of them waiting for next one ❤
Naming things can be hard. Lol... I have encountered times when I take more time to come up with an object name vs actual coding.
I love Visual Studio!
I still don't get the advantage of it
there iq none lol. community edition has all the tools you need.
The resolution with the shared screen was really bad. I was struggling to read what was on the screen. It felt pixelated
MsBuild Copilotnin VSCode extensions kzread.info/dash/bejne/i31rzcyQqqzPhLA.htmlsi=QlrLwOzQOhLfJhlE&t=793 RG should have Joyce Er on your show
I wish the IEnumerable Visualizer allowed a way to create templates so it's less about writing code and more about filling in report fields. My other question would be, does it have to be an IEnumerable to write a LINQ query? Because I wrap my IEnumerable and IQueryable in abstract classes that prevent leaking those references across my app. But if it were per generic type, I could have something like MultipleResult<TEntity> where TEntity : IEntity and have specific debug templates for interacting with that result set.
Its very neat! Rocking....
I hope you post more videos
Thanks,video so good
Wow, this is great to see support for the dev container specification. Thank you for the video!
