  There is alot of ways these girls make money, like merch, sponsorships, CCV, memberships, and appearances. So like Pekora doesn't make much in Superchats but she is literally the most watched female streamer in the world so her CCV (what KZread pays out for running ads on her content) is probably really high.

  Korone only did 17 streams last month. Also, her streams in June were just normal streams, a lot of Super Chats are made during special streams like Watame's 3dLive concert Revival (which is a huge reason why she earned a lot of Super chats in June), Gura's Birthday Stream, and Kiara's new 3d outfit reveal.

  Man, Gura! About four days to catch up with Watame... Kinda wild, if you think about it. And now live in a country with good taxes. Germany would take at least 42% tax and social deductions with an income in that range...

  Note that the numbers shown are reduced by 30% (youtube cut) and then again by 50% (Cover's cut) So the top earners actually look like Watame - $12,340 Okayu - $10,069 Gura - $9,799 etc Their actual take home is around 35% (as far as we know) of anything super chatted to them, as well I'm fairly certain that 30% KZread takes should be tax deductible as a "platform fee"; a cost they need to pay to be able to do their job, which should actually cut down their overall tax bracket quite significantly~

  Well other countries dont spend as much on taxes but have to buy many things the taxes include anyway so the overall net income after actually substracting all the things you need is often not as different as many people think.

  @@ninjablade2 i am well aware of the cuts, still it doesn't change the fact that almost half of the rest would be gone here. I think around 70k/annually ± and you are in for a lot of deductions and extra taxes, which people with lesser income wouldn't have to pay. Almost all your social deductions are at max settings. Further, you have even less you can declare on your tax forms. Quite a reason why some successful streamers here left the country...

  @@leviathanx0815 unless it works completely differently half of it would not be gone; you only pay the higher tax bracket on the money made over the bracket so for example the first 60k you make is all taxed at the base rate, then additional money past that would be taxed at the 42% Using Okayu as an easy rounding example If she were to be based out of Germany and we assume she made approx 10k/month assuming that Cover owns the channel and pays her portion out rather than it counting as her making the 30k straight up that would leave her with a net of 120k/yr the first 10k has 0% tax, leaving 110k The next 50k has 14-42% which according to the tax calc comes out to 11.5k in taxes to be paid, leaving 60k to still be taxed The remaining 60k is then all taxed at 42% Which is 25k so out of the 120k made, 36.5k would be deducted in taxes, or just over 32% of the total BUT, there is an important thing that is being left out of this equation; the employer in Germany must pay into both the retirement fund and the health care for the employee, and the retirement contributions are paid at about 10% of the pre tax salary; in otherwords a non-taxed additional 10% would be added bringing the total tax amount down to 22% of the total, approx With smart business purchases and a good tax person this could be pushed even lower by reducing your total taxable income by writing expenses off as well (writing off internet, living space, heating/cooling bills, etc)

  @@ninjablade2 We can't say the 50% cut to cover is actually the same for everyone. Marine talked about it and that every contract is individual and the cut might be different. I can't remember which stream, but it was definitely one of the stream after a MV release where she talked about what Cover provided to her and what she needed to pay for herself.

  It's crazy how much Japan super chats vtubers. They have very few western audiences meanwhile EN has a much wider appeal just from a language barrier perspective, and yet Japanese talents consistently top the charts for superchat revenue. Maybe that's the source of the Japanese recession?

  Well, I think Japan has a strong idol culture. And a reason for that is people are so depressed to form real life relationships, so they invest more in idol. And that’s why the birth rate is so low, which is not all, but one of the reasons the economy stagnated. So if you think like that, this can be a source of Japan recession, though I would prefer the term stagnation.
