    This is not embedding. What you're doing here is linking to a Thrivecart checkout page. Embedding and linking are not the same thing. Embedding a Thrivecart checkout means the checkout form sits inside the Squarespace web page and all the payment info is entered there without leaving the page. You can only do this with certain Thrivecart checkout pages (the ones under the embeddable section). When you choose an embeddable checkout page, clicking the "save & get URL" button gives you an embed code instead of a URL.

    Hi Bekah! I've seen your content and I think I found out about you through Paige Brunton. ☺ I totally get you - mom to mom - it's hard to schedule and do things around naptime. Actually next to impossible. The beautiful thing about having a business is that you can pivot - see how you like doing different things, and if it's serving you well, then do that thing. I'd even recommend trying to see if you can be a guest on a podcast - talking about your business and how you do Websites in a week - especially having that connection is HUGE. Take advantage of that! Hope things are going well for you!

  • @RebekahRead
    @RebekahRead2 ай бұрын

    Yes- do you have a specific calendar you are using? The way I do this is I have Dubsado as my CRM and then connect Google calendar to Dubsado. When I embed my Dubsado form for people to sign up for a time slot it is connected to my Google cal so it blocks off times I have events (if that makes sense).

    Thanks for the video. I'm trying to do this right now too. I want my emails to be more specific to my audience as I cater to various aspects around health and wellness and menopause. Once they click their preference, then what happens? Do you get notified and then add them to a specific nurture sequence? Or do you have to create an entire new segment and workflow around each preference that you offer? Just thinking that will involve a lot of work on my part if that is the case. TIA for your reply.

  • @RebekahRead

    Once they click their preference they will get tagged as something which you set. So Ihave a Showit Only tag. And then when I am creating emails about Squarespace for example, I EXEMPT the Showit only group.

    My 9yo site is on the Avenue template, so I looked into changing it to Bedford/Brine for the update, but it seems like I'd be starting from scratch with either of those. Should I just start from scratch with a new 7.1 site? Is there a way to have my blog posts transfer at least?

  • @RebekahRead
    @RebekahRead5 ай бұрын

    Yeah you would be starting from scratch in a lot of ways so it is probably worth it to either keep it as is or to start from scratch on 7.1. I think for the blogs you will have to copy and paste into 7.1 or you could try getting an extension like this one - www.squarewebsites.org/squarespacewebsites-tools-extension-pro?peachs_apc=paul-m

    Thank you for posting this. Here is my dilemma. My site has been on 7.0 for many years. A couple of months ago I started to build from scratch in 7.1 because I’m including course purchases on my site and this transfer feature didn’t from 7 to 7.1 didn’t exist. Today I was just finishing up to transfer my domain to the new site and I saw the transfer option. I’m annoyed on so many levels. One, I’m paying for 2 sites until I can transfer, two this took me a few months and 3 I’m afraid to screw up my seo in the transfer to the site I’ve been building from scratch. Is there anyway to copy my new build to my old site once I convert the old to 7.1?

  • @RebekahRead
    @RebekahRead6 ай бұрын

    That is seriously so frustrating! I'm so sorry you did all that work for nothing. The main advantage of just upgrading from your old site is to retain the SEO, but if your new site is a completely different design that will better attract your ideal client, I believe overall it will be worth the switch as the conversion will be better which is better than bad leads. I don't think there is a way to copy your new build to your old site, but that could be a question you ask Squarespace chat at support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/219648707-How-do-I-contact-Squarespace-Customer-Support-?platform=v6&websiteId=658077cf02189a483fe040be

    @@RebekahRead I appreciate the reply. I reached out to square space via email expressing my situation and frustration. Their rep reiterated what you said and that is to just convert my old site to 7.1 to retain SEO. Otherwise he said it could take a couple weeks for SEO to catch up. For me I have been building up my SEO for years so it was a no brainer to just convert it over. I used some of the design and content I had on the new site to revamp my old site once I converted it over, so It is all good. They also gave me a refund for the new site after I cancelled it. Although you can't talk to a squarespace rep in person I am impressed by their quick responses via email. Thanks for your post.

  • @RebekahRead

    Such a good question Krista and I wish I had a better answer for you! Unfortunately it is a manual copy/ paste. There is no import option (so dumb and frustrating in my humble opinion). So in order to get course participants into the new platform you have to send them an email and have them re-register. You can either create a checkout page that costs $0 or have them go to your main checkout page and give them a 100% off coupon. Unless you upgrade to Learn+.

When customers finish checking out their order, there is a link that says "continue shopping" on the cart screen. I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Spocket, a service I had high hopes for but was let down by its misleading practices and unresponsive customer service. I decided to give Spocket a try and opted for their trial version. However, immediately after my payment for the trial was processed, I was bombarded with an advertisement urging me to upgrade. This ad featured a "details" button, which I assumed would provide more information. To my utter shock, upon clicking this button, Spocket charged me 331 Australian dollars for a yearly subscription without any clear warning or confirmation step. This felt like a blatant bait-and-switch tactic. Realizing this mistake, I immediately contacted Spocket's customer service to request a refund. This is where things went from bad to worse. It took a staggering five days to get a response, only to be told that my refund request was denied. This delay and outright refusal to process a refund for a charge I never knowingly authorized is unacceptable and reeks of scammy behavior. The whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I feel like I was tricked into paying for a service I never intended to subscribe to. The lack of transparency and customer support's unhelpfulness has completely eroded my trust in Spocket. It felt like they were more interested in forcibly retaining a customer through deceptive means rather than building trust and offering value. I strongly advise others to be wary of Spocket. Their business practices are questionable, and their customer service is severely lacking. Don't get lured by their trial offers, as you might end up trapped in an unwanted subscription with no easy way out.

    That's a good question! In this video I just did a button linking to ThriveCart so in that case no you wouldn't need a business plan.
