Thank you! Such a great video explaining the issue. This was my exact problem. Unfortunately wasn’t able to get my capacitors out and needed the fridge so ordered a new board and replaced it no problem. Super easy fix, was bummed I couldn’t get the capacitor out for a cheaper repair but happy to have my fridge working again and will probably try to have a family member see if they can get the capacitors out of the old one to fix and keep as a spare.

Sorry I don't know the answer to your problem. I'm not an appliance tech I just tried to repair my wash. It gave me a couple more years but eventually it went to appliance heaven and I had to get a new one.

Please correct the battery information. This is a 3.7V Lithium Ion battery (shown at 10:12), not a 1.2V NiCd.

I am having trouble removing the plastic water dispenser front cover (frame) to paint it. I put painters tape around it to protect the enamel and am using a putty knife and screw driver to pop out the attachment pieces. However, it is still holding on in one place. Do you have any videos on how to get it off without breaking it?

Still working in 2024! FYI this same exact issue was seen on GE part number WR55X10942 for me. Fridge Model Number GSH25JSRFSS. I found the controller on Amazon with next-day shipping for $130. I also ordered a soldering kit to try and fix the original. Thanks so much, Tom!

Mine looked a little different on the inside with the tubing but solved my issue!!! Im grateful i found your video. I saw that tube going into the fridge from behind and couldnt for the life of me figure out where it led to. Your video showed how it in the back(inside the fridge) and i was able to put a new line in and after more than 4/5 maybe 6 years i see water coming through the water line/// not many will get it but being able to fix something is soooo satisfactory! THANK YOU!!!

The battery died in mine but when I realized the shaver will run directly off of the wall outlet, I decided to avoid buying either a battery or a new shaver. Win-win for me and the environment.

This is the 2nd time mine's went warm, last time I replaced the motherboard for cheap on ebay (over 20 year old fridge). I just ordered another (cheap again, lol), but I think I'll try to repair and keep this one as a spare. Thanks for pointing out your tips!

WOW... My KitchenAid is 23 years old and it still is working. Just replaced that front coupler you pointed out at the bottom front. 35 $ from the whirlpool parts dealer.. 10 $ from home depot. Guess which one I bought! LOL... And YES... that roll of tubing is to cool the water before you get it to your glass! Is that mold inside the roll of tubing inside the fridge? They say we should clean the tubing with vinegar but ... HOW????? I also was going to use that tubing for replacing other sections. And I will when I need to.... probably soon. Now, why has my water always.... always come out so slow? 47 seconds to fill a 12 oz glass of water.... OMG. I just don't bother... good video!

I'm literally dealing with a similar issue. Found a compressor with a blown starter. The board didn't show any obvious (blown or desodderered bits, I did not check those small capacitors, I will try them next! Thank you! It's so amazing to learn something new everyday from KZread

Thanks Tom for a nice video. I checked the door switch, pressure switch, and then examed timer controller. They were all in good shape. I took the motor and controller off and examed components. I would almost ditch the washer and watched your video. I then stripped off the wire wrap finally found the blown off thermofuse. The machine works like a new after replacing the thermofuse. Don't understand why GE makes fuse so difficult to find.

Hi Tom. Great video. In regards to the power, if going the same route as yourself with the LiIon backpack, will this always draw power until dead as there is no on/off switch added?
