    I like them in my reguar fish tanks, they help clean the substrate and don't harm my fish. They are bad for snails and shrimp, and if you have a breeder tank....otherwise. I let them be.

    Very enjoyable video! I learned so much from it. I didn't know those traps existed or what those flatworms were called or that they eat baby shrimp... or that they move in such a mesmerizing way! It sucks that they are so harmful because they are beautiful in their strange way.

    Thanks for stopping by and watching. They are indeed quite fascinating. Did you know that if you cut them in half, each half would regenerate into a new worm? This species has been studied extensive in biology for such a simple creature 🙂

    I bought some huge glass planes because i want to turn about half my room (about 10m²) into an aquarium. This is the first video i see after, hope i won't have to deal with this parasites, but its just the circle of life i guess. Those worms would not exist otherwise.

    ❤ So cool! Your tank is gorgeous! It makes me miss our tank. We used to have a saltwater nano (20 gallons) with a clown and sea anemone. At one point it was so gorgeous! With plants and corals! But Nanos are so hard to regulate, it takes so little to throw them off as far as temp, etc. But we still maintained it for years. I could sit and watch it for hours! We would get surprises that hitchhiked in on new purchases so there was always something new like tiny crabs or brittle stars.... or dreaded fire worms! It was definitely labor intensive and super expensive. One nice little coral would be around $70. But having things like Pulsing Xenia, Sexy Shrimp, Plate corals and other cool things was just an awesome experience. ❤

    Great video. To answer your question, "...how is your youtube journey going?". It's been tough for me. I will be 50 myself in less than a year. I started YT as a hobby and now I am truly considering giving it 100% of my time. I was recently layed off from a 28 year career job and have been struggling to find a new job. It has been 60 days since I was played off and I have lost count of the 100s of job applications I have submitted. Over the last few weeks, with newly found free time, I have worked at publishing a minimum of 3 videos per week on YT. I finally hit the 500 subscriber threshold, but find my videos lacking in views. I have a few videos that have done really well, mostly product reviews, but I don't want to be a channel focused on product reviews. My channel is more about me vlogging my time spent outdoors. There are many similar channels to mine that have a strong following, and I am struggling to figure out how to get to their level. I guess it's going to take more research on my part. Any advice is greatly appreciated. subscribed

  • @GavinKohAquascaping
    @GavinKohAquascaping5 күн бұрын

    No apple snails, like most snails, don't eat plants. They only eat the rotting parts of plants. I've had over 200 plus snails and my tank was over growing with plants. In fact, the snail poo adds to the nutrients in the water for plants.

  • @wabalaka1565
    @wabalaka15655 күн бұрын

    Oxygen depletion. They themselves don't need much oxygen but the decomposing chicken created a lot of bacteria which consumes much more oxygen than you think. The fouling chicken produces toxic chemicals too.

    They were still alive 12 hours in, so if you remove it within 12 hours, there would be no issue. Also my trap is so tight that the toxic water did not escape into the tank.
