The thing is some white belts will get very good in the first 3 6 months because shit clicks faster. Every bjj practitioner knows that there's a time when everything cliks and you understand what you have to do. Just because the techniques don't look that good it doesn't mean they can't get things done. There's also other factors like watching videos before starting bjj, reaction time, natural strength conditioning etc

I used to compete in karate back in the 90’s and there was a black belt that always entered the beginner’s division and talked about how he had just started training. We all knew that he was full of it.

Lamentable referee, 5 seconds out and it's his opponent who let go. Sure lack of oxygen to the brain is not doing irreversible damages under 2min30 but you have to take into consideration the blood flux because on some chokes with gi it's very tight, and i would not be surprised to see that damages could happen drastically quicker in these conditions, anoxia is NOT hypoxia.

You have a good idea of the technique, but far from being a clean execution, keep practicing and you will get there. Oh, and try to protect Uke (the person you are applying the technique to), you will need him tomorrow

Worst Osoto I've ever seen in my life. You're doing a huge disservice to any beginner that sees you wearing a brown belt and thinks it's acceptable to perform the techniques like this. Please learn judo at a judo school, not from jiu jitsu guys like this that don't even know what a Deashi is.
