Inu and his friends do gaming. What more is there to say? Streams every Thursday and Sunday at 7pm Eastern. Videos every weekday at Noon and 1pm Eastern. Occasional other stuff too.

I also do a Monday collaboration stream with a few friends over on the Gilko Gaming Twitch channel.

Drop in. Say hi. Leave a comment. Like. Subscribe. All the usual KZreadr shills. Join the Discord and come hang out. We've got a pretty small but active community over there and we'd love to have you. Don't try to follow us on Twitter, though. We haven't got one of those. Inu is too much of an internet dinosaur for Twitter. We have a Facebook page as well, but we basically never use it anymore. 8:35 This whole situation here honestly gives me similar vibes to back in Xillia1 where, instead of actually letting herself get saved from dying, Agria decided to just let herself fall off of a cliff out of _pure_ spite towards Leia, simply because she genuinely hated her *_SO_* much that she'd rather die and give Leia permanent mental trauma for the rest of her life than let Leia have _any_ sort of happiness over having saved her life. Except unlike Alisha, Leia was at least an _actual character_ who you spent _MOST OF THE GAME WITH UP TO THAT POINT,_ so even with the devs having seemed to have some sort of irrational hatred towards Leia with the way they treated her as a party member, _her_ version of this scenario at least still felt like it had _some_ sort of emotion behind it, instead of it just being you watching a glorified NPC you barely see across the game being forced to stab _ANOTHER_ NPC you barely see across the game to death. 1:53 (Also, this kinda doesn't really matter at all, but I just figured I'd point it out regardless that when you went over to smash the boulder you didn't need to smash here, you also missed the regrown stat drug that was sitting right next to it because you whipped the camera over to and then away from the rock so quickly.)

Honestly, when me and my sister got to the part of the game here when Alisha shows up for all of 5 minutes as a playable party member again, the first thing we did was _take off_ all of the accessories we had placed onto her originally back when the game was pretending that she was an actual party member, and made sure she was just in her stock outfit for the rest of the game (that we played) after that point. The reason being that, since it had become *_ABUNDANTLY_* clear by then that no matter what the game tried to trick us into thinking, Alisha was essentially nothing more than a glorified NPC character who only ever showed up to """help""" you during certain points of the story as if she were a green Fire Emblem unit. And if she was going to end up spending 95% of the game as an NPC you'd _barely_ interact with from time to time during sidequests as she desperately fumbled around _TRYING_ to be more important than the story itself would allow her to be, then we saw no reason to bother putting her in anything that wasn't just her default look since we had no idea when (if ever) we'd have been given another chance to change her outfit again down the line, and decided to just keep her with a default look so she wouldn't end up screwing with any cutscenes down the line without us being able to fix it. Also, having only just now seen it for the first time, I genuinely can't say that I'm at all a fan of her "Hyland Royalty" outfit. It honestly feels less like an outfit that would be worn by royalty, and more like an Idolm@ster costume than even the _actual Idolm@ster costumes_ do. Which isn't to say that I _dislike_ the actual Idolm@ster costumes, but more that it just feels really out of place to me as something that would actually be worn by Alisha in-universe.

3:40 No, it wasn't "We should probably tell Alisha that her mentor is a Hellion", it was "We should probably tell Alisha that her mentor is a Hellion who *_EXPLICITLY PLANS TO KILL HER_* as soon as it's convenient now that Maltran's gotten her hands on a *_CIVILIZATION DESTROYING DEMON SWORD_* that she plans to use to cause the war Alisha has dedicated her life to preventing.". It's kind of an important distinction to make, but apparently not an important enough one to warrant actually telling Alisha about it regardless, since telling someone they are in *_MORTAL DANGER_* is still evidently less important than making sure they aren't bummed out. Also, _YOU_ were one of the people who immediately got on Sorey's case about why _NOT_ telling Alisha was the right choice as soon as he said you guys should say something about it, Rose. Good to see you just immediately flipped on that the second you actually saw Alisha again while Sorey meanwhile was stuck doing his best to avoid the subject like *_YOU AND EVERYONE MADE HIM AGREE TO DO._*

*_(sigh)_* So I know it didn't really seem like much here, but that overgrown pill bug from the end of the ice cave is actually one of the few fights I *_VERY VIVIDLY_* remember from this game, because when you aren't fighting the thing with equipment that gives you endgame level stats, that little shit is an *_absolute bastard_* to deal with. For starters, it being resistant to everything _but_ Wind damage is, to put it mildly, annoying as all hell for very obvious reasons when you aren't able to passively ignore resistances entirely, since it ends up constraining your options a _LOT_ for what you can do against it, especially so since, as is well established, when you don't have gear that's _specifically made_ to make your Wind Seraph be actually good, then their Armatus ends up easily being the worst out of the four by a very wide margin. Secondly, is that while the thing doesn't actually move that fast when it's walking, at any point when it feels like it, it can decide to suddenly go into a 0-frame startup Sonic Spindasb to _launch_ itself directly at you at high speeds. This wouldn't really be an issue in and of itself, since it getting closer to you _should_ be a good thing, but the problem here comes from the fact that every part of this animation is considered an attack. *_Including_* the 0-frame startup animation for it where it rolls into a ball. Which not only can it begin doing at _ANY_ point, but also does an *_UTTERLY ABSURD AMOUNT OF DAMAGE_* on top of that in addition to the actual hitbox for the attack being a good bit larger than you'd expect it it be. Meaning that at *_any_* point where you are swinging at the thing, it could suddenly decide to *_INSTANTLY KILL YOU WITH ZERO WARNING WHATSOEVER_* because the transition from neutral into its Spindash animation is _THAT_ fast. And lastly, there's the actual area that they make you fight it in. The arena you had to use might not have seemed like much of a issue since you guys deleted the thing so fast because of your gear, but this place is *_THE_* example that is burned into my mind of this game's genuinely abysmal combat camera, because if you try to move your field of vision *_AT ALL_* during this fight, be it intentional or because Player2 just moved too far in a direction, then the game will *_IMMEDIATELY_* jam the camera directly into that collection of rocks that just so happened to be placed right next to where the pill bug was sitting, as said rocks _just so happened_ to be placed in the *_WORST FUCKING SPOT POSSIBLE_* on the fixed battlefield you are given for this fight. Meaning that, if the pill bug is given the opportunity, it _will_ eventually end up spindashing to the side while attempting to attack someone, which will then *_IMMEDIATELY_* cause the camera to freak out and get jammed into the rocks without any way to fix it, resulting in you having basically _nothing_ you can do as the damned bug then quickly tears through your health while you're busy being stunlocked by the camera. This one fight against this one stupid little bug genuinely took me and my sister _AN ENTIRE FUCKING HOUR TO GET THROUGH*_ because if it didn't decide to suddenly turn on its Spindash while it was in the middle of being combo'd, which would result in it *_INSTANTLY_* deleting us from full health in seconds because the attack is functional no different than a _fucking chainsaw_ due to how it works, then it would instead launch itself off to the side to fuck up the camera *_SO BADLY_* due to this game's combat immediately falling apart the _SECOND_ it has to try and contend with any level geometry whatsoever, which would then cause the game to become practically unplayable while the thing took its time to reposition itself so that it could instantly Spindash kill us both whenever it felt like it. I *_CANNOT_* in good conscience say this is the worst fight I experienced in this game, because anyone who's played Zestiria before _KNOWS_ which fight that actually is (at least as far as non-postgame fights are concerned, since I don't have any knowledge for how those might go), but God fucking damn it if it wasn't easily the worst one after it nonetheless…

14:39 See, the thing about chests as a general concept is that, traditionally speaking, the best reward that they will have for you going out of your way to find ones that you were initially unable to get due to story reasons when you first visit an area is either a new piece of powerful gear or (since stat drugs are obtained through their own distinct method in this game) a very rare consumable battle item like an All-Divide or Hourglass. In a lot of the older games in the series, this was generally enough to incentivize you to actually go back and get them later on once you've gained the ability to do so, since the gear contained in them would, usually, be considerably stronger than whatever you were currently using at that point to encourage you to explore the world more, and by extension would actually be worth your time to go back and find. But because of _this_ game's awful equipment system that it keeps pushing you to interact with as often as possible since leveling basically means jack-shit, the odds of you *_EVER_* getting a piece of gear from the gold chests that is _ACTUALLY_ better than what you were currently using ends up being astronomically low even on a standard New Game run, because even if the raw stats on whatever it was you found _were_ better than what you were using, the _skills_ on the gear you were using make it so you wouldn't want to bother switching over to the newer gear anyways because of how annoying of a juggling game it is to actually get that shit set up in any half decent manner. Meaning that, realistically, about the _ONLY_ thing the player would really care about that the gold backtracking chests in this game might have for them that are of any considerable worth even on a fresh game would be the rarer consumables. But since the amount of fights in the game that are genuinely of a high enough level of bullshit to even warrant using items of that magnitude in the first place are *_VERY_* low in number, and are *_STILL_* utter bullshit even *_WITH_* those items in play regardless, you'll probably just end up having enough of them to get you by just from the chests you could _already_ open before you are eventually given the ability to hunt down the many gold chests you'd been forced to walk passed by that point. Which is basically to say that because of the annoying equipment system this game was built around from the ground-up, even when you _are_ eventually handed the gold key, it's done *_FAR_* passed the point where it would have acceptable to do so, since them pushing it off for *_SO_* long for no real reason like they did just further ensures that there will be simply no reason whatsoever beyond completion's sake for you to ever go back to hunt down the gold chests you've already seen since you know that there isn't going to be _anything_ in them that will be worth your time.

Hm. The Fire Trial is where 'that boss' shows up near the end of the game once it's finally realized that you've been walking around with all the marketable collectables in your pocket this whole time, isn't it? Provided I'm remembering where that happens right, that might be why out of all the Elemental Trial locations you went to check, _specifically_ only the Fire one didn't have a new hidden miniboss enemy waiting for you in the boss chamber.

10:58 Having never actually seen any of Zaveid's nor Dezel's DLC costumes prior to now, I have to say, I do really like the look of the college professor outfit here. Has a real 'Xillia 2 Gaius' vibe to it that works surprisingly well for Zaveid in regards to getting across how strong the dude actually is (or at least how strong he is in-universe at any rate, since he's actually the weakest Seraphim in the party by default because Wind), though his not being able to have _any_ hairstyle that doesn't automatically include a hat of some kind does somewhat clash with it a bit, even if it's less a problem with the professor costume itself and more a problem with basically _ALL_ of Zaveid's DLC costumes in general. Anyways, when it comes to what me and my sister usually had Zaveid wearing, generally we didn't usually have him in a costume other than his default one, since we kinda felt shoving him into Dezel's outfit was… more than a bit fucked up, considering… so most of the time we just put one of those God Eater bracelet things onto his less bulky wrist to give them a bit more symmetry and called it at that, since Zaveid always having a hat made head accessories kind of a non-option, and his _also_ always not having a shirt sort of made any body accessories… pretty awkward to have on him. That said though, while we didn't put Zaveid into Dezel's old outfit (or his old _old_ outfit) for obvious reasons, on occasion we _would_ put him into the all white alternate color version of Dezel's default outfit since that was far enough removed from him or anything he'd ever choose to wear that it didn't feel weird to see Zaveid wearing it at that point. And because that white outfit ends up almost looking like a dapper tuxedo because of the matching white Dezel hat that goes along with it, it actually pairs very well with the wedding dress themed look we always had Lailah in, especially if you also have him equipped with that same red corsage that goes well with Lailah's all white outfit.

"…Oh no… Guys, we have to warn Alisha about Maltran right away!" "…Why?" "…Huh? What do you mean 'why'? Isn't it obvious why we should do that?" "Nope. Can't really say I see any valid reason for us to go and warn Alisha that her closest advisor and most trusted ally is *_secretly working for the Lord of Calamity_* to wipe out *_ALL OF HUMANITY,_* has been actively plotting behind her back this entire time to help kickstart the war that Alish has been _desperately_ trying to stop from happening, and also not very subtly implied that she was just going to *_KILL ALISHA_* now that she doesn't have any use for her anymore because of the ancient world destroying demon sword she just got her hands on." "…What? But… _EVERYTHING_ you just said is the *_EXACT_* reasons why telling her about Maltran is so impor-" "Come on, Sorey, you heard Rose. There's simply *_NO_* reason to tell Alisha about any of that stuff. Besides, if you did tell her about all of that, then she might get _sad._ And isn't that worse than whatever consequences might arise from her _NOT_ knowing about the plots to undermine her life's work, wipe out all of humanity, and also put a sword through her back as soon as it's convenient for Maltran to do so?" "…Yeah, I guess you guys are right… making Alisha feel sad _would_ be kinda mean…"

So you guys were able to pick up on the one thing that, above all else, is what truly makes this damned place so infuriating to navigate. As despite this being the _ONE_ place in the game that is meant to put the Water traversal move through its paces, it wouldn't be *_ANYWHERE_* near as bad to get through if it wasn't for the _other_ mechanic of the eyeballs that the game conveniently _doesn't_ mention and leaves for you to just infer for yourself, in that those stupid things looking at you *_DRASTICALLY_* cuts down in the amount of time you can actively stay in Meebo's water bubble for. And when I say "drastically", I *_VERY_* much mean that, as compared to the amount of time you _usually_ have available to move while the Water bubble is active, which is around 9~ seconds or so based on the amount of time you could walk in back when you first gained access to it and had to escape from the church forces a few weeks back, standing in the path of the eyeballs in this place shreds through the timer on it so fast that you end up only having about *_3 SECONDS WORTH OF MOVEMENT AVAILABLE TO YOU_* if you have to walk through 2 eye tiles at once (which, as you've noticed, is generally the standard amount of tiles you need to walk passed at once in this place), with this amount of time _not even being fully consistent_ because of how ludicrously unforgiving this tripled timer speed can be about even spending *_just a few frames worth of time_* in the bubble before walking onto the eye tiles to begin with since it _ONLY_ takes effect while in their range of sight.

As the old idiom goes, if a game _isn't_ built around stealth being one of the core gameplay mechanics you are meant to utilize throughout it, then a section where you are forced to mandatorily stealth your way through a location without getting caught is basically always going to be the worst part of said game. _THIS_ shit that's coming up next with the damned stealth eyeballs is actually the _only_ one of the Elemental Shrine gimmicks that I actually remember in full from when I played through them years ago, because having to literally crawl through this damned place at the pace of a snail under risk of getting force teleported backwards to make me have to do it _AGAIN_ was such an aggravating ordeal that it's managed to stick with me at the back of my mind as just being an outright terrible experience even all these years later.

The main thing to keep in mind when it comes to the Free & Free Battle Action, is that while it _does_ change it so that Free Run mode is the default state of movement, and thus makes it so you don't auto-regen your SC as fast as you do when in Linear Run mode, it isn't actually locking you into _permanently_ being stuck in Free Run mode as long as it's turned on. When my sister and I first turned it on after getting it, we ended up running into the same issue that you guys have been with our SC always being too low to pull off most Artes, since the way we had been playing up to that point had gotten us both used to the rapid SC recovery that Linear Run gives you as the trade-off for having _far_ more restricted movement in combat by default. However, what we ended up figuring out after a little while of having Free & Free on, is that because what it's _actually_ doing is simply inverting what is and isn't the default movement type you're set to during combat, if you were to actually press the trigger button that would ordinarily have been set to switch you over to Free Run mode, it would instead set you to Linear Run for as long as you were holding it down, and would _INSTANTLY_ begin to rapidly recharge your SC at the incredibly sped up rate that would come with it. Meaning that what Free & Free actually did, was give us full access to the vastly improved range of movement of Free Run by default to make the flow of combat feel _MUCH_ better overall without also having to worry about constantly needing to hold in one of the triggers for most of the time we spent in combat, while also making it so all we ever had to do to get all of our SC back at _any_ point was hold down what _used_ to be the Free Run button for all of *_TWO SECONDS_* any time we needed to completely re-fill the meters for it by tapping into the rapid recovery function of Linear Mode without _actually_ needing to ever run around in it, which basically outright negated the only real downside to using Free & Free in its entirety.

15:23 While Inu is correct in that there's practically no reason to actually bother checking shop inventories, I can at least still understand where Bas is coming from with his feeling like it's something they should be doing anyways, since I'm pretty sure the reason Bas's brain has been hardwired to check a given shop's inventory every time he passes by one is because he's more used to playing Tales games where your party members are _actually_ intelligent enough to use items during battle without having to be explicitly ordered to do so. Meaning that there'd typically almost always be a consumable or two (such as Life Bottles or condition curing items, for example) for him to stock back up on whenever he's pass by a shop, like was the case in the Xillias you had just finished getting through prior to this game.

4:56 Gotta love how even with this Giganto scorpion begin weak to Earth elemental damage, Rose going off on the thing for several seconds straight with a _FULL_ combo string of Earth Armatus melee Artes was only enough to take off maybe around a fourth or so of its max health in total, whereas once Sorey finally finished taking his sweet-ass time charging up an Ancient Nova while Rose was doing all of the work, that single Ancient Nova instantly did *_NEARLY 70% OF THE THING'S MAX HEALTH IN A SINGLE HIT_* because it had taken damage from even a single Earth attack before hand. Times like these really remind you that every other Seriphim in the party is kinda just along for the ride while Lailah actually does most of the work with the purification powers the rest of the party is borrowing from _her._

As a small thing, this sidequest where you fight the giant tiger warrior version of Morgrim is actually one of the few boss fights from this game that I vividly remember from when my sister and I played it years ago. Not so much because the fight was overly difficult like *_CERTAIN OTHER FITHTS_* from later on were, but more so because this was the first time that it fully dawned on me that the correct answer to 99% of every situation the game puts you in is to just Armatize with Lailah and spam her plethora of utterly broken bullshit that is the Fire Armatus's Artes selection until the problem is solved. This fight _did_ admittedly give us a bit of trouble at first, as the boss can actually hit pretty hard if given the opportunity when you don't have NG+ level gear on hand, and since we weren't really sure how to go about handling it we ended up struggling for a bit as we cycled through the various Seraphim to figure out what would work best against it, but then once I finally got over to using Lailah, the boss ended up becoming a *_TOTAL JOKE_* once I realized that I could just keep it out of reach of us both by spamming the shit out of the Fire Armatus's flame wall Arte to keep shoving the giant cat backwards out of swiping range. And at that point, all we had to do was just sit there as the thing uselessly tried to advance on as I continously shoved it backwards with flame walls while my sister pelted it with ranged attacked from behind me. And once _that_ had happened, I finally understood that having Lailah set as the default Armatus form I used was just flat out the correct choice in basically every fight that it was an option in, since for as strong as the other Armatus forms (that weren't colored green) could be, _NONE_ of them came even close to that amount of raw strength that Fire had on its own, and were *_FAR_* stronger when being used _alongside_ Fire since it did such a fantastic job of keeping any aggro the hell away from them so they could operate uninterrupted, while _ALSO_ doing a shit ton of damage to the things that were aggro'd to it in the process because its Artes were just _THAT_ strong even without having the equipment setup to allow it to spam Mystic Artes like crazy.

  • @BiomasterM2

26:00 You did not, in fact, misclick earlier earlier before the fight against the giant tiger warrior. You properly set Sorey's partner as Lailah and Rose's partner as Edna like you thought you had, but then because the intro cutscene leading into the fight was programmed to have Edna pop in out of _Sorey_ and Lailah pop in out of _Rose,_ the game automatically rearranged your party on you _again_ solely so that they wouldn't have to bother changing what the pre-fight cutscene looked like. You just didn't notice that it happened during the fight itself since the both of you Armatized so quickly before firing off the Earth and Fire Mystic Artes in sequence that there wasn't any reason to suspect that it happened to begin with, since there wasn't really any point where either of you could have gotten to do something that would have tipped you off because of how fast the fight ended.

If I'm being honest, fact that the game waits _THIS_ long after you are first given Edna to actually unlock her Navigation Ability is something that's genuinely always really bothered me. For someone like Meebo, who admittedly kinda sucks at his job, it makes sense for it to take a while for his to unlock, since he still needs to figure out what his power even _IS_ first before he can let you use it in the first place. But out of all of the Seraphim you become partnered wtih after Lailah, Edna _REALLY_ feels like she should have been someone that just comes with her Navigation power already unlocked from the get-go like Dezel did, since she initially shows up with her shit properly together when it comes to her powers, and even demonstrates _MULTIPLE_ times how good her mastery over Earth is as part of the plot right after you meet her. And then instead of just letting you have the ability to smash rocks right away, they make you wait for *_dozens of hours_* to unlock it with the justification that Sorey basically never thought to ask despite the _NUMEROUS_ path blocking boulders he's had to bounce off of between now and then. (I understand that the _actual_ reason they waited so long was because they didn't want to let the player have access to so many side paths so early, but at that point why not just a _DIFFERENT_ type of obstacle there instead like Dezel's gap crossing warp, since you can't even get him until after you're locked into being stuck in Rolance for a while anyways)

1:27 Makoto was the one who makes most of the meals she and her sister eat when they don't just get some kind of takeout due to Sae's job keeping her so busy (The most 'cutting critique' Sae ever gives to her cooking is 'The miso soup seems kind of bland today' when Sae also happened to be a bit aggravated from work, so Makoto's cooking is likely fine on the whole), and considering how much Haru cares about her dream of wanting to open a small café like the one her grandfather originally opened before their restaurant chain was a thing, in addition to all of the vegetables she eats from the garden she takes care of, I'd assume that she also has a pretty decent grasp on how to make properly edible food as well (if not an even stronger grasp of it than Makoto has). Futaba is a definite 'No' since her circumstances lead to her basically being entirely clueless for any food recipe that isn't "Poor boiling water into cup noodle", Yusuke's idea of a homecooked meal is essentially loose bread crusts because his circumstances _also_ sucked, Ryuji can _probably_ at least do some really basic stuff in the kitchen on account of him living alone with his mom and wanting to be able to help her out when possible, and from memory I'm honestly not entirely sure one way or another when it comes to Ann-pan.

4:38 For as much as it sucks whenever it comes up, it's still kind of funny to me that the PS3 was genuinely _SUCH_ a nightmare to develop games for because of the weirdness of how its hardware functions that, unless a game that was made to be played on it was also _expressly_ designed from the outset to also be playable on other systems that _weren't_ the PS3 as well (be it games that were meant to be multi-platform alongside Xbox, or the games like Zestiria & Berseria that ended up having a PS4 build worked on in addition to the PS3 one because they came out so late into the PS3's life-cycle), most of the time whenever a company is broached with the idea of porting a PS3 exclusive to more modern platforms so people can actually play the damned thing, they immediately decide to not even bother because of just how much of a headache it would be to translate that garbled mess of code into something that would actually be able to work on a system that _isn't_ the PS3 without having to resort to something like basically running it through a PS3 emulator via Cloud streaming.

17:24 My best guess on the rocks that seem to be needlessly blocking the corridor when you can just walk around them, is that since there is specifically a breakable rock at _both_ ends of the corridor instead of just the one side like they'd usually be, the reason they set them up like that is _probably_ less to impede your path than it was to hide something like a chest or an herb plant in the gap between both of the rock piles to find later once Edna _FINALLY_ decides that she'll break the damned things for you, with the thought process likely being that they saw it as a good way to "reward" the player for going out of their way to go back and use their new navigation tool in older areas that they didn't necessarily have to return to in the first place.

18:55 You know croutons? From my understanding, rusk is basically kinda that, in that it's bread (or cake) that has been baked twice to dry it out so it can be used as a side snack for dipping into things. And by extension, chocolate rusk would just be a chocolate based bread (or cake) that went through the same double baking process.

I know it's something I've mentioned before, but to add to the discussion of this game not giving you any real incentive to bother leveling up because of the near total lack of meaningful stat increases you get from doing so, as a consequence of them having also pretty expressly set things up to work like that to press you into engaging with the shitty equipment system, not even the player/enemy level ratio damage modifier you guys have mentioned a few times now matters *_AT ALL_* either in NG+ as far as incentives to level up goes, since if one were to carry over the equipment they were using at the endgame of their previous playthrough like you guys have, then that would essentially just set their stats to be like 90-95% of what they'd be once they'd have finished _everything else in the game_ because of how much of your actual stats come from your gear by design. And because of that, even in the best case scenario where you _ARE_ fighting any enemies that somehow happen to be a significant enough level above you to actually have the damage ratio modifier have any meaningful effect (be it from the Lord of the Land bonuses, or something like the God Eater DLC gauntlet), the player's stats would already be so high that any damage reduction they may be working against just flat out _doesn't matter_ because even _the highest difficulty setting in the game_ wasn't designed around the idea that you might such powerful equipment at any point before the post-game even though they explicitly gave you the ability to do so in NG+, meaning that once the player has put in the minimum effort to unlock all of the party's level-up Artes again, there really is just no reason to bother fighting _ANYTHING_ by that point that isn't either explicitly required for story reasons or something that drops the items that increase your max health.

18:35 So just to point this out, but even though the game basically hammered it over your head that you should ignore the story for a bit so that you could restore the Lord of the Land to the region by taking that side path in Cambria Caverns, said caverns themselves apparently _aren't_ covered as part of the region. Which means that the game fully expected you to make that detour through the side path in the cave to find the Seraphim, then walk *_ALL_* the way back to Lastonbell if you didn't want to spend what would ordinarily be a *GIGANTIC* percentage of your money without any NG+ Gald modifiers to warp there, and then still have to walk *_ALL THE WAY BACK THROUGH THE DAMNED CAVE AGAIN_* afterwards even if you went out of your way to trigger the 2nd save point there for convenience under the assumption that you'd then be able to warp there for free afterwards, since the cave was placed _just_ far enough away that it *_STILL_* required you to pay that 26K Gald to get there even after restoring the Lord of the Land. Because this game is designed to just be as annoying to the player as possible in so many small ways like that.

0:15 Remember a few minutes ago when Rose walked away for about _20 seconds_ while Sorey dealt with Sergei in about 3 swings of his sword? _That_ is why Bas got switched to playing as Meebo for no reason without the game having even said as much. And much like how the game forcibly switches your default active Seraphim to have Meebo as Slot1 and Lailah as Slot2 after basically *_EVERY OTHER CUTSCENE,_* expect it to do the same with the character Player2 is set to control _ANY_ time Rose walks out of frame for any period of time during a story event so Sorey can do a thing, since that's just how they chose to make it work by nature of the way this game handles its party structure.

12:17 So just to elaborate a bit on something that doesn't actually matter at all, back in the day, Robotnik's army of Badniks were originally powered by a bunch of tiny animals he kidnapped after invading the island Sonic lives on, which he'd then literally shove into all the death machines he makes to use them as Matrix-style living batteries. This is why tiny animals would fall out of the majority of his machines after breaking them, and why there was just a bunch of capsules laying around that contained a _HUGE_ amount of said tiny animals. After a while, I think around either SA2 or Heroes (but _definitely_ the latter at the very least), he then switched to having _all_ his Badniks powered by more proprietary energy sources that _didn't_ require him to go out and steal an entire forest worth of fauna before he could start his monthly world domination schemes, which lead to his Badniks dropping things like energy cores that would power you up if you grabbed them, or energy that Sonic could use to fill his Boost meter. Then once you get to Colors, he kidnapped a bunch of tiny _aliens_ to power his Badniks instead of the energy cores he'd been using for a while, which Sonic could _also_ use to fill his Boost meter because, and then after re-using those same tiny aliens for the next few games despite the fact that they were _supposed_ to have gone back to their home world after Colors (the official answer to _WHY_ they were still around after this, much like the answer to why the moon isn't half exploded anymore, was essentially '(shrug)', by the way), they kinda just… ditched the whole proprietary energy source thing altogether and just went back to having all his new Badniks be powered by tiny animals again. Which was a direction that was almost assuredly gone in entirely because they figured going back to Robotnik having to kidnap entire hordes of tiny animals to power his machines again instead of anything more efficient would be a good way to grab at people's nostalgia.

So for whatever reason, amongst all of the different Giganto enemies you fight across the course of this game, this large boar here is one of the few that I actually vividly remember having fought. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that this is where my sister and I first ended up unlocking the Battle Action that allows you to always be in Free Run mode by default without having to hit L2, as well as being the first instance of my sister starting to develop the habit of freely Style Switching her way through the (non-Lailah) Seraphim party members (rather than always just playing as Edna) mid-battle when she swapped over to Dezel to quickly use his healing Arte that fills someone's Blast Gauge while also temporarily increasing their Focus to help deal with the boar of unusual size (which is probably how we ended up hitting the 50+ hit combo needed to unlock permanent Free Run in the first place).

So to go with what I said yesterday about the type of animal ears my sister and I used on Rose, the animal tail we used for her also wasn't the cat tail, but the Shiba tail. Aside from it matching the ears we were using, the primary reasons for using that one in particular is that, because it's a Shiba tail, it ends up being split between two colors with white on the bottom and a light brown along the top, leading to it being a _FAR_ more natural look with her red hair even without having to change it's hue with the (admittedly very limited) color sliders, while also still keeping the white to contrast with her hair like you had mentioned liking in regards to the white cat ears and tail. Additionally, as it's specifically a _Shiba_ tail, that also means that it naturally curls upwards towards the back of whoever is wearing it on top of having a very fluffy appearance to it, which makes it look _SIGNIFICANTLY_ less awkward overall compared to the smooth looking cat tail, which rigidly sticks out by a pretty considerable distance from the person wearing it since the accessory items generally don't have any sort of movement physics on them, and leads to the cat tail having a _LOT_ more clipping issues in comparison as the character is moving around in cutscenes or general gameplay.

As a correction, it was the _dog_ (Shiba) ears that I said we used on Rose, and not the cat ones like you guys had tried to use here. It's the same basic principle as what you tried doing, but since the dog ears don't end in as sharp of a point and are a bit more rounded overall, they fit beneath the hair flaps on the Nana hairstyle in a more natural looking way in comparison to how the narrower and far more pointed cat ears do.

Honestly, given the way this game handles its leveling system, I genuinely can't say I'm very surprised that you guys were able to handle the God Eater fights at as low a level as you are. With them having gimped the amount of stats you gain from leveling as much as they did to incentivize (re: force) you to engage with the game's shitty equipment system, realistically you're not really all that much weaker now than you will be 100 levels from now because you already have the hyper min-maxed endgame equipment unlocked, since that gear is going to end up accounting for probably like 95% of your endgame stats anyways. So even with the God Eater monsters having occasionally bit back at your juggling them around like they did here, it's very likely that things didn't really go all that differently fighting them _now_ than it would have if you'd waited another 60 hours to have fought them at a more appropriate level _later_ instead.

14:46 Yeah, I was _ALSO_ incredibly confused about how the hell you guys were out of Apple Gels, since the last time I remembered you using them you still had 20 something of them left, even after the bullshit fight of pain from a few sessions ago. So after going back to yesterday's episode since it was the most recent time I remembered you opening the Items menu and still having them there, I scrubbed through the part of the video where I figured they probably disappeared, and sure enough it turns out you accidentally hit Left instead of L1 while trying to tab over to your Boots menu so you could sell a pair of Adamantine Boots to the local merchant back in town. And since hitting Left when you have 0 of an item selected automatically selects the _maximum_ amount of an item to sell from that menu, and the default screen the game sets you on when you open the Sell menu is your Items tab, and Apple Gels are the thing that appears in the first slot of said tab when you have any… that means you… kinda… sorta… sold your *_ENTIRE STOCK OF APPLE GELS ON ACCIDENT_* because that single misinput highlighted your nearly _2 dozen Apple Gels_ as being part of the transaction without you realizing it alongside the single pair of boots you _actually_ went there to sell in the first place.
